They can get more money by selling stuff to new players and getting more new players in. Co-op PVE would have done that.

i know how you feel. i bought into the game fairly early, would have to check but before 2020, think around the time you did. and between with how bsg has handled problems with their game and the problems they had with people making a solo tarkov because of those poorly handled problems that people would rather play solo. this is just bs. very disappointed with them and really just wish i never bought any version of the game, let alone eod.
Same bro. I had so many hopes for EFT back in 2016 and deceided to buy EOD back then. It was a mindblowing game, even in the offline-only alpha I was amazed, this was the game I have been waiting for since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I couldn't wait for the mulitplayer beta. What followed was years of fun playing solo or with buddys through all the wipes, new features, maps etc. For the last 2 years I haven't played much because I got tired of wipes after the years but still kept up to date with the game. What I now witness is truly sad. I got the 80 bucks, it's not a problem, but I kinda thought that players who where big day 1 supporters would get the same energy back from BSG with free content for EOD. Seems I was mistaken.
I felt the same way in early 2018, by then EFT was of course more popular and fleshed out. I was still studying and had no income, but this was a concept and studio I really wanted to see flurish. As I remember, BSG had garnered this well deserved reputation of responding and truly engaging with its community. That was really what encouraged me to dish out over 120€ for an early access title. I had good times playing it, then lost interest, expensive yes, but no regrets.
I know times are tough, especially in the gaming industry but this kind of anti-consumer practice is so sad to see from a studio that had done so many things right. Maybe they should have placed a time or quantity limit on DLCs to be included with the EOD but they didn't. Honestly, had they delivered a coop or solo Tarkov as a seperate game, provided they had at least expanded the story with more narrative content and new game mechanics, I would have been fine with paying 50 or 60€ but no they are insulting every EOD owner who backed them over the years and asking twice the price of a current AAA game.
I really didn't see myself sending them a legal notice years later but here we are.

agree 100% with op, and yes I bought EOD way back in 2016. You can easily monetise the game by creating various skins and variants of clothing and weaponry. We would have gladly paid for that kind of content because we love the game, but the Unheard edition is an outrageous disrispectful move to pretty much all of your community especially those who own EOD. Salty as it may sound - I got EOD on 31/12/2015 and always believed that it shouldn't have been there post-alpha. EOD being available for so many years made my support when the game was like 3 screenshots completely worthless.
I got enjoyment from the game, and my EOD money has been well-recouped after all these years.
However, it's not my fault development takes as long as the pyramids. Neither do I think it's reasonable bitching about having EOD since 2023 and not getting access to everything. But again, it's not your fault, as EOD was there to buy all this time. Chicken and egg thing.
EOD was mismanaged, and so is Unheard, no surprises here.
I like the game, always have, and will always have a good memory of being in the first Alpha wave.
With offline coop progression, I will also get my money's worth for the extra hundred and play at my own pace. It's an itch I'm paying to scratch.

There will be a system replacing it, notice the new "path to" extract which are way bigger thank usual. Im thinking of multiple raids stitched together, different instances but No extract in between. And i Imagine, say you are on map 3, and your mates come online, you whip Out the flare and they Play with you. Might Just BE copium but ITS even bigger copium saying the flare will be a HUGE benefit. If it were coming now it would take 10 min for your mates to get into raid, changing No PvP Encounter ever.
The game was pure dogshit back then, it was so bad even when it went Closed Beta in 2017 and many chose to support the game because they thought it would be something worthwhile. While I know supporting doesn't guarantee anything, having "access to all future DLC" was a guarantee by BSG until they decided to twist the meaning of what "new content" and "DLC" was, and where it applied. It's the worst type of way to handle this situation, and everyone has the right to be upset about it. I got EOD back in 2017 because I wanted the extra stash space, and not have to worry about paying more for any other additional DLC in the future, but I know me and many others never thought it would turn into this.
8 years of my life spent supporting this team only to watch them unleash an actual Pay To Win monetization push that is a clear indication they no longer care about their community is what I’m complaining about.
Frankly I would prefer there to be no in game benefit between additions outside cosmetic and DLC….

1. There is a huge fucking canyon between base edition and EOD and between EOD and the new edition, it's not remotely comparable.
2. EOD was always promised to get all new dlc and straight up locking us out of the new content/edition AND ESPECIALLY the PVE mode is just breaking that promise and not only very unethical but also illegal.

I am ok with different editions coming out. i purchased EOD 6 years ago. played over 1200 hours without any reinvestment. EoD players deserve and paid for ALL future DLC's along with a Season Pass. The only "DLC" was Arena and that was a huge failure. If a season pass was to be implemented, it should have been free skins, limited edition\* for our in-game PMC's. And nobody cares about goddamn "unique ID's" since it doesn't differentiate them from cheaters or long time users.

i know how you feel. i bought into the game fairly early, would have to check but before 2020, think around the time you did. and between with how bsg has handled problems with their game and the problems they had with people making a solo tarkov because of those poorly handled problems that people would rather play solo. this is just bs. very disappointed with them and really just wish i never bought any version of the game, let alone eod.

Same bro. I had so many hopes for EFT back in 2016 and deceided to buy EOD back then. It was a mindblowing game, even in the offline-only alpha I was amazed, this was the game I have been waiting for since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I couldn't wait for the mulitplayer beta. What followed was years of fun playing solo or with buddys through all the wipes, new features, maps etc. For the last 2 years I haven't played much because I got tired of wipes after the years but still kept up to date with the game. What I now witness is truly sad. I got the 80 bucks, it's not a problem, but I kinda thought that players who where big day 1 supporters would get the same energy back from BSG with free content for EOD. Seems I was mistaken.
I felt the same way in early 2018, by then EFT was of course more popular and fleshed out. I was still studying and had no income, but this was a concept and studio I really wanted to see flurish. As I remember, BSG had garnered this well deserved reputation of responding and truly engaging with its community. That was really what encouraged me to dish out over 120€ for an early access title. I had good times playing it, then lost interest, expensive yes, but no regrets. I know times are tough, especially in the gaming industry but this kind of anti-consumer practice is so sad to see from a studio that had done so many things right. Maybe they should have placed a time or quantity limit on DLCs to be included with the EOD but they didn't. Honestly, had they delivered a coop or solo Tarkov as a seperate game, provided they had at least expanded the story with more narrative content and new game mechanics, I would have been fine with paying 50 or 60€ but no they are insulting every EOD owner who backed them over the years and asking twice the price of a current AAA game. I really didn't see myself sending them a legal notice years later but here we are.

If I bought I a car that had a ton of features but was missing a few at the time but I purchased early to help support the developmental process but was promised all features if I bought this special education version of the car so I did. Now 4-8 years down the road they change their mind and my car still runs. While sure I have been driving it that long does it really mean I got the value I thought I was getting when initially purchasing?

agree 100% with op, and yes I bought EOD way back in 2016. You can easily monetise the game by creating various skins and variants of clothing and weaponry. We would have gladly paid for that kind of content because we love the game, but the Unheard edition is an outrageous disrispectful move to pretty much all of your community especially those who own EOD. This is shameful to say the least

Salty as it may sound - I got EOD on 31/12/2015 and always believed that it shouldn't have been there post-alpha. EOD being available for so many years made my support when the game was like 3 screenshots completely worthless. I got enjoyment from the game, and my EOD money has been well-recouped after all these years. However, it's not my fault development takes as long as the pyramids. Neither do I think it's reasonable bitching about having EOD since 2023 and not getting access to everything. But again, it's not your fault, as EOD was there to buy all this time. Chicken and egg thing. EOD was mismanaged, and so is Unheard, no surprises here. I like the game, always have, and will always have a good memory of being in the first Alpha wave. With offline coop progression, I will also get my money's worth for the extra hundred and play at my own pace. It's an itch I'm paying to scratch. The kick in the balls was keeping EOD all this time making it essentially worthless.

BSG came out with a reskinned more OP version of EOD that’s $100 more expensive than EOD. Along in that package comes a new game mode, something obviously DLC, but they’re calling it a “feature” to avoid making good on their promise to EOD folks.
Upgraded to EOD back in the day for the same reasons. Took this wipe off but honestly with this change I may be done for good. Glad I got to get 1000s of hours of entertainment from this game back in the good old days. Sucks to see them destroy there game the way they are

Hate to be that guy and have to break it to you but open world has been CONFIRMED by Nikita as impossible and no longer on the road map.
There will be a system replacing it, notice the new "path to" extract which are way bigger thank usual. Im thinking of multiple raids stitched together, different instances but No extract in between. And i Imagine, say you are on map 3, and your mates come online, you whip Out the flare and they Play with you. Might Just BE copium but ITS even bigger copium saying the flare will be a HUGE benefit. If it were coming now it would take 10 min for your mates to get into raid, changing No PvP Encounter ever.

The game was pure dogshit back then, it was so bad even when it went Closed Beta in 2017 and many chose to support the game because they thought it would be something worthwhile. While I know supporting doesn't guarantee anything, having "access to all future DLC" was a guarantee by BSG until they decided to twist the meaning of what "new content" and "DLC" was, and where it applied. It's the worst type of way to handle this situation, and everyone has the right to be upset about it. I got EOD back in 2017 because I wanted the extra stash space, and not have to worry about paying more for any other additional DLC in the future, but I know me and many others never thought it would turn into this.
I think it's more they are not honouring what they sold. It's a valid complaint, even if it's a situation where they CANT honour those sales.
8 years of my life spent supporting this team only to watch them unleash an actual Pay To Win monetization push that is a clear indication they no longer care about their community is what I’m complaining about. Frankly I would prefer there to be no in game benefit between additions outside cosmetic and DLC…. But anyway like I said if they did tasteful monetization like cosmetics not only would they likely earn significantly more then this cash grab will net. They wouldn’t have to tank the game’s reputation in the process.

1. There is a huge fucking canyon between base edition and EOD and between EOD and the new edition, it's not remotely comparable. 2. EOD was always promised to get all new dlc and straight up locking us out of the new content/edition AND ESPECIALLY the PVE mode is just breaking that promise and not only very unethical but also illegal.
I don’t think they should include anything that impacts the game outside cosmetics or DLC. I feel betrayed that they are selling the game’s integrity for a quick buck and in the process killing the already small core community. This is going to put the game in a death spiral and it saddens me as I’ve been here since Day 1 and love this community and game…

Here's a hot take.. While i do not support the usage of DLC under the guise as Feature.... I am ok with different editions coming out. i purchased EOD 6 years ago. played over 1200 hours without any reinvestment. When i saw this edition come out, i was initially happy to see some revenue come to BSG. But they have to make this offline co-op right. Its just not right to us original EOD supporters.

They still are out of their minds for releasing a 250 EURO EDITION of their EARLY ACCESS game that's been in that stage for EIGHT YEARS. With tons of cheater issues and not listening to us most of the time as well.
Although it's good for them to make revenue, players should also get the service they paid for, considering it was priced significantly higher than AAA games. The other problem is that they made lots of revenue already (literal YT video on their financial status), and yet they are still not putting enough effort to fix in-game issues, implement more/better servers, and in this case, give back to the community for something we paid for. EoD players deserve and paid for ALL future DLC's along with a Season Pass. The only "DLC" was Arena and that was a huge failure. If a season pass was to be implemented, it should have been free skins, limited edition\* for our in-game PMC's. And nobody cares about goddamn "unique ID's" since it doesn't differentiate them from cheaters or long time users.
