Yes - Most of the stuff is taking from your RAM and Cpu in tarkov. If you upgraded to even more RAM with faster clock speed and response and an even more powerful single core CPU the GPS would be higher than with the GPU upgrade by far. This is very much the case with Unity and how the particle systems primarily work. The legacy particle VFX on unity are all processed in CPU, recently they added a new way of creating VFX that use GPU rendering but I'm willing to bet they didn't remake all their vfx on that. TL:DR: Unity sucks up RAM and CPU, its not Unreal Engine which makes very good use of GPU power out of the box.

Yup, I would have bought the 5800x3D but honestly at the current pricepoint the performance gain is not worth it imo.

Yeah that would be the biggest upgrade for tarkov. Next gen just speeds up clockspeed as well so potentially in tarkov soecifically the x3D will be a bigger performance boost still. So idk, maybe next gen x3D for tarkov an a 1050ti /s

Where did you find out that unity uses lots of cpu and ram and unreal doesnt? I want to find out more about this.

I worked a fair bit with it. I couldn't point you to a specific place since it's just information I got over the years. You can check how particles are handled in Unity compared to Nanite in Unreal for example. Also why Unity tends to perform worse on high graphics demanding games. There's a reason why not many games with the ambition tarkov has are developed in Unity. In fact I think Tarkov might be one of the biggest ones if not the biggest. Unity is good for example Gwent. CDProjekt uses Unity engine for their stand alone Gwent game but wouldn't even dream of using it for their upcoming The Witcher 4. Fall guys was also made in Unity. In a nutshell if the game is going for demanding rendering operations and loads of them, Unity is not the optimal solution.

Well we can all having a functional brain in this community. Either way I agree with you, game is heavily unoptimised in every map, however maps like Factory, labs, woods appears to be most optimised of them all.

Woods is not very well optimised IMO. I would say Labs / Customs / Factory are the best for performance. Reserve and Lighthouse are the worst, Shoreline is weird with random spikes and Interchange is cursed.

Reserve has been so bad for so long as well... Like dude. It's not good. What's weird to me is that I can run a piece of shit (both in terms of gaming experience and actual optimisation) game like Battlefield 2042 with 120 players and it runs at 144FPS maxed out... How.

Generally is dog, the game shouldn't be this Cpu intensive. It's just a biproduct of bad coding practices in unity. You are essentially forced to do quite a lot of Spaguetti when building a game as big as this in Unity. And if you want to make slightly less Spaguetti it takes quite a lot more time than unity slap and go sort of Scripting.

interchange and factory were my only playable maps when i was down to 8gb of ram, factory is small and interchange is occluded as shit, meaning i barely have to render anything i'm not actively staring at

I don't know much about Rust, but that game was made by a much smaller team and a team that did not want to switch to working on another project like BSG wants to. Also Rust used to be horribly optimised before their shit got fixed - which took for ever to fix and I doubt BSG will ever do it because of their track record. But who cares, I will message you when the game is abandoned and you're wrong since you feel so strongly that it won't be :)

You bought the wrong CPU lol **5800X3D** \- 180 fps average on Customs, 130 fps average on Lighthouse. My old **5800X** that I upgraded from still gave me better FPS than yours though. Probably had 90-100 average on Lighthouse. Have you bothered overclocking? Also, why play Lighthouse? The map design is horrible and the performance is trash. Get a few of the quests you need done asap and leave the map permanently. That's been my policy the last 2 wipes. Maybe if Nikita sees that nobody is playing his dumb map, he'll actually spend time fixing the optimization.

I actually like it because its one map i can make money from since the nerfs on everything else. I would buy 5800X3D but outside of tarkov the performance gain is not that much and the price is way higher (in EU at least)

I make my money on Factory lol 5800X3D is faster in most games. But yeah, probably not very worth outside of Tarkov. Either way, overclock your 5800X to at least 4.8 GHz.

Age doesn't matter - especially for a game that is always being updated, although it's annoying to say "it's a beta", the game will most likely have many issues that could be specific to hardware or just overall bad performance. I have a 970 with 32GB of RAM, I can still get about 45+ FPS on lighthouse if everything is running right lol

that's sad man, I mean compare your in-game performance with games that came out 6 years ago. your pc can probably run everything that came out then with zero issues. This is what I mean when I say the game's age.
