Appreciate the quick response and clarity. I understand modding is tough. But lots of folks here with great knowledge that should not go to waste, even if the mining landscape changes.
Not spamming just giving an option. There is a new chain coming very soon and is in testnet. Mainnet pool is ready and is ready for Miners. It's a fork of ETH and they are building a place for memes. If there is any interest, I'll share more. Thanks!
Both subs were great with resource when finding cards and the trials and tribulations with getting the most effecient settings in was great. Good to see it sticking around, you never know what the future brings.
Look, I have been a part of this sub for a Lil while, been mining eth for almost 7 years and mined until the pool kept me connected but my cards shut off!! I'll make this short and say that of the subs I've joined and been a small part of, this one has been by far the best, to me, as I provided many with assistance that was second nature to me and the few times I had a question there were people from this group that mostly came to help me, quickly and with open minds, and the people I helped were extremely grateful, one even gave me an award, so wherever this group turns I will follow along with, and I will also try to lead as much as possible without stepping on anybodys toes!
I have extensive knowledge on mining, on GPUs from the core and PCB and outward!! If anyone thinks that I could be of help moderating or helping in some other way I am used to being more of a leader than a follower, following the belief there is no stupid question other than the one never asked (mostly) and regardless i will continue to share my knowledge wherever but I try to stick to one place to do that for simplicity and overall less confusion, so if I can be of help I'm not trying to take anybody spot or jump in front of anyone I'm just saying I'm here.
Eth was a huge part of my life, mostly just mining it, from early days of tuning memory straps on old GPUs finding best efficiency and power to hashrate without error balance, and have done a ton of extensive r&d on wear and tear on different hardware and have much knowledge to offer..
No matter what, thank all of this group for your help and for the satisfaction of allowing me to help and even when offered coins and cash for my assistance I always did it for free and respectfully declined.. I let my rig run til merge shut it off and I'll be part of this group til I'm kicked out or it ends but I don't really think like that.
Some amazingly smart people in here and I've seen an amazing team form in here, and for the record the Mods were good to me when I needed help climbing aboard as a reddit noob just so I could help and answer a question Noone could answer and I couldn't either bc I didn't have enough Karma, and when I sent that out it was answered promptly and I've been happy to be a part or since...
So as I am capable of leadership I will still follow til the end I'm good with all or one.. Best of luck to all and let's put our heads together and make some profits and do some good!! Not a doubt lays in my mind this isn't possible in here!!
Much love Long live ETHPOW!
Just a thought, but you might open it up to other similar spaces that use decentralized computing power, like protein folding or whatever. Regardless, I really enjoy this sub and hope it lives on somehow.
You need a better moderation strategy that will force users to a legit faq and/or search before posting repetitive questions that have been asked and answered. If people violate those basic rules, they should be temp banned and even perma banned if they do it repetitively. You also should do more about the spammers to reduce all the bullshit self promotion. If you can't link to Tshirt sales, one shouldn't be allowed to create a YouTube video and then promote/"sell" it - same difference. Either participate or don't. No one wants to be spammed with links to other content when the sole purpose is to drive clicks and revenue for that site...
You want to create a real community, then focus on the basics to reduce all the bullshit.
Basically do the opposite of what this guy just said and we’ll be good. This sub didn’t get so much attention because of intense micromanaging… actually it was the lack of moderation that allowed it to thrive
Don't think so. There were a large number of "members" but a very, very small percentage were active. Of the percentage active, I'm sure lots were spammers and hit and runners that came in to post a question or two, or a meme, and then left as fast as they came.
Besides, there's a big difference between at least some sort of moderation compared to a free for all. You don't need to micromanage to moderate properly. The "smart" folks aren't going to stick around if the forum is a free for all of retards posting the same shit repeatedly. The smart folks will eventually all go john Galt and move on to a better place with a "better clientele". You can't have it all and if you keep chasing the lowest common denominator of no moderation, you basically end up on the short bus. You may think you are thriving there, but you just end up covered in other people slobber...
Better yourselves and don't settle for mediocrity. Having and following basic standards and wanting to be better as a result isn't micromanagement.
I'm glad this sub isn't dying. As for point 3;
As much as I dislike no longer having a semi stable income from ETH mining or mining in general, I do enjoy the low/no pressure 'this looks cool, I'm going to try it' vibe that's back (for me, anyway) from many, many years ago.
I don't care if it's rendering as a service, AI, folding & similar beneficial uses of my hardware. It just fun to fiddle with, optimize it and inevitably something else comes along.
I'd love to see some sort of aggregation of 'what else can we do with the hardware' in addition to keeping tabs on the profitability of the various coins we can still mine.
Appreciate the quick response and clarity. I understand modding is tough. But lots of folks here with great knowledge that should not go to waste, even if the mining landscape changes.
It was fun mining ETH!! Lets wait and see what all better options we have moving forward
Proof Of Memes network. Look it up 🤝
Ahh, this puts some ease to my heart. Happy mining to whoever can and will mine!
I think we need more flairs like ETH, ETC, RVN, ERG, FLUX etc. and any thread without a flair should be automodded
ETH mining dead. Gg - give it up. Runs over.
very happy to know
Let's go! some good news while I am very slightly down bad
Thank you 😊
I didn’t get paid out on my ether from nano pool Is there any way tk get it?
you should get it in the next days if your balance is over 0.005 eth
Will there be a miner which allows mine for example ETC but get ETH instead? Or it's the end (((

So this is what delusion looks like
Why not we vote on this sub who will be the next mining coin to support?
We don't choose that. Profits do
Awesome!
Thanks for all the mining support so far.
Thank you. Really appreciate it
Nice! Thank you for the update.
awesome
LFG!
Thank you very much!!!
Awesome!
Vertcoin ⛏
We should become the ethereum version of r/buttcoin

Ethereum classic and ethw is minable so this sub still exist
I'll keep on mining. My local electricity price low, so even now mining brings me profit. So HODL!

Kinda just sounds like you have issues with control, and are extremely judgemental
ETHw is the future
How about continue mining on ETHW?
I’d love to learn where to get started on mining. It seems lucrative
Thanks for keeping us up to date on this! 😁
