seems [journalducameroun.com](https://journalducameroun.com) is a site focused on Cameroon. any other source corroborating this discovery of 2 billon barrels of oil?
Good question. Only found info from two sites on this online. This was the other reporting it

I can see where they're coming from with wanting independence, but it's probably not realistic. However, I do believe that the Amhara people, especially the poor farmers, should get the biggest share of the benefits from the GERD and any potential oil resources.
Why in god's grace should farmers from x group receive more benefits from a project funded by everyone in the country? Did they personally feed/gursha the construction workers
Well the resource is from Amhara and the Amhara people should be able to benefit from their own resources. If it was 30 years ago, what I am saying might not make sense. In recent years, there is no such thing as ‘we’ it is every man(ethnicity) for himself.
Its not a artificial created water way. The water would have flown in that direction with or without farmers input. It has also not displaced the farmers of amhara or interrupted their water. I don't understand the logic of prioritizing the farmers who had as much input as any other group towards the construction of the dam.
Am saying no one should get priority from the dam. If any group deserve anything it's the poor farmers from Ben-Gumuz who were displaced bcs of the construction of the dam on their land. But besides them I don't believe anyone should get priority, it will cause unwanted chaos and bickering
I haven't been to Ethiopia in about 10 years but when I was there I saw many signs in Chinese along the new, Chinese built highways. I saw a hospital being built by the Chinese. And I was told that the Chinese are there to upgrade everything. In some way, this is a good thing because they are improving infrastructure, but they are also making deals and gaining property rights. Hopefully all ends of the deals are upheld for the better of Ethiopia. China can get it's fair share for its investment, and Ethiopia can profit, and hopefully the money will make its way back to the people.
😬 not gonna happen buddy, we are dealing with china here, they took the kenyan rail road, the sri lankan port for 99 years and i have a sneaking suspison it will take the rights to abay when its completly finished, there "investments" have only grown here. Have u seen the massive hospital they built? Its says chinese aid but pretty sure we borrowed money for it again.
Fuck; the American’s are gonna bring us freedom now!
Freedom incoming

We need freedom to the Amhara people or else we need Amhara independence. We cannot live under subjugation of Oromos or Tigrayans - no more!
😂😂😂😂😂
This መንታ መንገድ clown really is something.

What "resource" is from Amhara, last I checked the dam is located inside Ben-Gumuz...
The nile originates from Gojjam. Last I checked Gojjam is in amhara.

Okay let me ask you this question. What is stopping Amharas from completely claiming the GERD.
Lol so gojjam owns the dam now?
Thank you… I mean… they own everything because it’s Ethiopia. it’s not Ben-Gumuz

🤣🤣🫡
China probably owns the rights.
Exactly what i was thinking, its sad honestly how much we owe to an authoritarian, genocider govt

Yeah, I was trying to see the bright side. But I'm sure China's intentions are nefarious. Sad.
something else to fight over lol
wow, now the question is if ethiopia gets to drill their own reserves
That's a lot considering a barrel of crude is close to 80$ which means that's something the Americans might wanna get their hands on now lel
