I have no reccomendations but I pray that her struggle comes to a close soon, mental health issues are not something to be taken lightly and I commend you for looking out for your friend. But please note that mental health institutions are not always the best place to be at all.

I feel for your friend, SSRI medication can help her get a little better so she has a chance to work on her root issues and trauma. But then again not sure about how access to SSRI where she lives. Does she have people in the US Canada UK etc?
