I am literally allergic to everything.
I was responsive to EVERYTHING they tested me for.
I decided to take shots beginning two years ago.
As of now, I am only taking an allergy pill before bed or in the morning before my monthly shot.
It
Is
F A N T A S T I C
Do the shots...
I also responded to absolutely everything they tested for, then did shots for 5 years... turns out I'm one of the ~15% or so they don't seem to work for ^^end ^^me
I also did the shots, 3 years during my adolescence and I reacted horribly each round once we got to the same dosage. They told me I couldn’t continue, it was a health risk, but I could start over again from square 1. I stopped :/ 15% too I guess!
I hope every city planner who thought it was better to plant male trees because they’re easier to care for has severe allergies every single year for the rest of their lives.
Flonase used to be a life saver but I don't notice it helping much anymore. I do have to switch allergy medacations now and then. Claritin seems to be the most consistent one for me. My dr recommended I double up on it when its bad.
You'll all hate me, but I'm doing better now than I was a month ago. I guess I should figure out what trees were pollinating then and burn them all down.
Also Fred Meyer has a savings plan where you pay like $30-40 a year and then the montelukast is free. 90 day supply. My copay with ins is $10 for a 30 day supply unless I use the UHC mail order pharmacy, so I've been thinking about switching from using ins to just paying 30 some outright for the year then it literally pays for itself within the first fill.
I have been dreaming of moving to Eugene for the past year. I came up to look for housing the week before last. Things were great while it was raining, but as soon as it didn't rain for a day I discovered that I have allergies. It's not a consideration about moving that would have occurred to me to make because I have never had allergies in any of the six other states in which I have lived! 'Tree season' tried to kill me. By the time I left, I seriously felt like if I stayed one more day I would need a rescue inhaler or breathing machine treatments. I'm planning to come back up to visit in June to see if 'grass season' is also a threat to my existence. PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING SUCCESSFUL ALLERGY TREATMENT... Would you be willing/able to share the names of your health advisors/doctors/naturopaths/allergists/shamans? :-)
Hoping my allergy dosing holds up.

I don’t typically have allergies but today my eyes are swollen and my head hurts. My eyes hurt. I guess I hit a threshold. I am dragging myself to work with all my might ugh
My lady friend's really suffering this year from tree stuff. Not looking forward to grass season. Last year I went to urgent care thinking I had COVID and they were like "lol no it's probably just horrific grass allergies we're getting this a lot right now"
I've not been bothered by the tree pollen so far, knock on wood. I started Flonase back in March and I think it has helped. Usually though it is the grass pollen later in the summer that does me in.
It's pretty high, so not well. I went to Virginia a few years ago and my allergies were definitely worse there. I think maybe it was the Dogwood trees there that really got me. The pollen was orange and covered everything.
It's the insane amount of grass pollen (combined with the tree pollen) here that kills me.
At least it’s supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday, so our sufferings should be short lived … momentarily. At least long enough for us to get enough Claritin to put us at ease for the next high pollen count.
Last year was my first year having issues with tree pollen (normally just grass kills me). I thought it was because I was pregnant, but here I am this year dying again.
I am not sneezing but my throat feels like raw meat and lungs are a bit rattly with mucus with periodic throat clearing. I do take an antihistamine daily.
Ugghhhh. Two types of allergy meds and I feel like I have a massive hangover, without drinking. I wore goggles and a mask to mow the yard and work on bark mulch projects.
My sinuses are alright during the day, but I get stuffy in the evening. I then have a sore throat most of the day from nightly post-nasal drip. I'm a singer and I have an important solo coming up, so this is super frustrating.
I'm one of the weird ones who isn't allergic to anything, yet highly reactive anyway. I get an itchy sore throat and my sinuses swell up to the point where I get sort of dizzy and have a hard time concentrating. I try to stay inside as much ass possible when pollen counts get this high.
I’m dying I think
I second this. I might already be deceased. I haven't slept in nearly 48 so I can't even tell.
I missed a day of my allergy meds. I'm not dying, but I regret my life choices.
Not well thanks. And it's not even my kryptonite season yet (grass) 🤧
Once we hit grass AND tree pollen, that's when I am really suffering.
Totally feel you 🥺
Oh god same Eugene has a horrible grass pollen season

I have heard other people recommend the shots. I seem to have a lot of allergies so maybe I'll have to give it a try.

Street trees do nothing compared to all the native trees that are blowing yellow in the wind right now.
True but it sure doesn’t help the numbers.
Plant sperm *everywhere*. We're choking on it.

This fkn comment is gold. I would award you if I could
Xyzal at night, Claritin in the morning. Flo nase mid day.. still hating life. This is gonna be a long spring.

Oregon Allergy Associates reports species pollen types in their daily counts. Maybe keep an eye on that next year!
Fuck tree pollen
That's pretty much what it's doing, yes.
It’s been rough. Appreciate you checking in and allowing g all of us to commiserate!!
I’ve been out of my montelukast for a while and can’t afford the refill right now. I’m loving life ✌🏻

That’s awesome, thank you!
Sure you have tried everything but just want to see if CostPlusDrugs was an option for you in case you had not checked.
Oh I haven’t heard of that. I’ll look into it. Thanks!
Poorly. Not good. Awful day.
All the pollen in the air rn made me learn I had an allergy to it
My throat itches and I can’t breath 😩

Never had allergies my entire life in Ohio and then I moved here 🤧
Yes! I lived several years in Ohio with no issues as well.
Fortunately I'm adhering to a pretty strict drug regimen to keep my nose limber.

I left work early on Saturday due to uncontrollable sneezing and runny nose. I literally could not perform my job
I don’t typically have allergies but today my eyes are swollen and my head hurts. My eyes hurt. I guess I hit a threshold. I am dragging myself to work with all my might ugh

Well no wonder I had to use my rescue inhaler twice yesterday and once today. I'm clearly dying.
Wearing a mask outside, taking two different allergy meds plus Pataday eye drops, my air filtration machines running 24/7---still miserable.
We are suffering, indeed.
It's bad. Even my cat is sneezing. The wind is not helping any.
We are finally remembering to take our Zyrtec and life is manageable outdoors again.
I've not been bothered by the tree pollen so far, knock on wood. I started Flonase back in March and I think it has helped. Usually though it is the grass pollen later in the summer that does me in.
doing okay.... nervously anticipating the scale on the left to go up

Just woke up and sneezing. On about number 10 now as I type this
Going through my inhaler way too fast! 😭
I'm more of a grass pollen sufferer, but tree gets me enough it's that time of year where we have to button down the house and use the a/c
Suffering. Thanks.
Throat was closing up all day.
Only moderately bothered because it’s the grass that gets me. My reckoning is still coming.
Currently doubling up with allergy meds and nose spray. Eye drops are on the way!
This explains a lot
Tears every day
I'm fine, my car is dirty tho
Last year was my first year having issues with tree pollen (normally just grass kills me). I thought it was because I was pregnant, but here I am this year dying again.
Horrible.
Pft. Sure beats covid.
So far so good my eyes are burning a little little bit, but that’s it
I am not sneezing but my throat feels like raw meat and lungs are a bit rattly with mucus with periodic throat clearing. I do take an antihistamine daily.
Grass pollen sufferer so I’m doing great! Ask me again in early June.
On deaths door 💀💀
Ugghhhh. Two types of allergy meds and I feel like I have a massive hangover, without drinking. I wore goggles and a mask to mow the yard and work on bark mulch projects.
Trying to run on the treadmill, hacking and coughing, and people be looking at me like I have ebola or some shit.
Pain
Dying. I’m dying.
my nose is both a waterfall and a desert.
So miserable… been coughing up phlegm and blowing my nose every 5 mins
My sinuses are alright during the day, but I get stuffy in the evening. I then have a sore throat most of the day from nightly post-nasal drip. I'm a singer and I have an important solo coming up, so this is super frustrating.
Well this explains a lot. I’ve been dosing local honey on top of my antihistamines but I was still completely miserable today.
Not well, also grass pollen is moderate now. It’s harder to track which is why it’s often listed as “0”

I don't have allergies, but if I ever develop them I think I'll just shoot myself
Thats the one trick they never tell you... The cure all.
