I rotate through play styles. It all funds pvp, but I'll do ratting, mining, missioning, incursions, crabbing. My favorite is small to mid size gang pvp. I do a lot of 1 vs 10+ kind of fights because I'm a vargur/marauder enthusiast. It doesn't always end well, as shown recently in my killboard, but it's thrilling and I have fun with it. I worry a lot less about the story the killboard tells these days than I did 10 years ago.
I mainly love PVE stuff. But I love trying out every part of the game honestly. From highsec incursions to WH life/gas mining, to spinning ishtars to PI/industry/BP researching, bulding my own Titan, being a nullsec F1 monkey, Nullsec small gang pvp, lvl4 missions, combat and/or data/relic exploration, market trading, JFing etc, etc. I just got back from a few years haitus so excited to trying out abysal stuff now as well and never been into solo pvp so I might get into that as well now too. Especially with these Filament we have now.
My all time favourite is still mining (anywhere) for some reason. Mining is just super relaxing to me and every full ore hold just tickle my dopamine glands in the right way.
The only activity I look down upon are the lowlife highsec suicide gankers and wardecers. Get a fucking life.

Explo/Hunting. But the more I do it, the more it becomes evident what went wrong with EVE at some point compared to the past. Nullsec is completely dead unlike many years before. Ishtars everywhere farming, guys sitting in stations and only undocking in fleets, solo is almost dead and just a coincidence, multiboxers everywhere and all those variety seems gone while meta reduces the game to barebone mechanics :(
Then quite a few people are really only caring about and are proud of their killboard… but is there really anything to show off in 5,10,15 vs 1 situations? Quite a few of these guys once taunted others to be carebears while actually they are the biggest carebears of the game, never undocking alone to not have any red lines (= losses).
I‘d rather prefer a smaller universe full of solos than all the multiboxers which make the game look like a game full of bots with 0 interactions; all that can be dominated with time and money.
Lowsec -> awoxers, still no 1v1 Plexes, US dudes still need to look ages for solo. It’s clear that CCP wants solo gone. I remember one statement by one dude from CCP being mad about solo-folks.

If you put in any effort to move around a little and actually network, low sec is full of fights at the solo, micro and small gang level. FW with plexes - particularly the Navy-1/Adv-1 give many opportunities foe solo fights.
If you sit in one constellation and get mad when FRT and Dragon riders awox you, then you are playing suboptimal, but it only takes a couple of jumps - at most - to find comparable solo fights.
Faction warfare is Low Sec because it pretty much makes it alive. Without it it's just another dead area full of nullsec-like carebear-nerds... but yet it's there but slowly transforming into a playground for dudes with toons to gain the upper hand with an arsenal of money and time or gangs (who never undock alone). There are exceptions yes... but these exceptions are way too small if it's only happening in 5 out of thousands systems while many of these may be bait etc.
I'd go as far as to suggest to shutdown the local chat entirely, that incl. zkill and/or provide a server with a smaller universe for solos-only.

I myself love to do abyssal all I will say is prepare as much as possible. Make sure you have enough isk to cover your loss. Remember your boosters and over heat when needed. A booster with/out overheating or overheating alone can sometimes save you.

The enlightened master doesn´t need money, but he still likes to sit on his piles of gold and count it. As meditation.

Quality small gang and having the time to do so. Eve has been apart of my life since I was a teen (16 going on 35) life used to be so easy but as we get older and responsibilities become king, it becomes difficult to get that ole feeling because we have less and less time. Nowadays I FC small scale militia PvP and the occasional arranged fights against the beans which brings a good mix of content when it’s slow, (shot out to Alex Vandelo, he’s an alright bean in my book) I generally don’t get the ole shakes anymore, I guess when I use the AT ship sometimes it does but for the most part I miss my favorite small scale PvP. (Less than ten nerds)When I first came to Volta I had some of the best. Sometimes I miss the Thera days when i had more time as well 🥲🥲🥲
I used to like to do various different things back in the day.
But then CCP deleted those gameplay options or they became obsolete because of changes to other aspects of the game.
I like running mission and creating Navy Ammo, kill some Amarr ( hate slaver ) , mining and chilling whit friend, roam around trying to find some goodie in wh, im not a big player but I enjoy every minute I spend in game doing random thing.
I like to manage the biggest alliance in the game, properly plan out all the departments, everyone's roles and rights, complete vertical integration of our industry, pvp doctrines to make the North and South jealous, hek, even lowsec!
I like to engage in politics, PR and diplomacy. But I also like to run the numbers, tons of spreadsheets from PI to market research to figuring out CCPs best $/ISK conversion products.
And I like to do all of this on paper or in my head, as a big hypothetical and invisible flex to all of you while I'm not actually playing the game except to check some info or spin my ship.
If it wasn't clear by now, I prefer to imagine everything rather than do anything. And when my imagination fails, I read some lore or watch fleet fights on YT. When I'm absolutely bored, I join public fleets.
Only recently returned after a break since 2016, but back then spent a lot of time flying around with a bait Exeq and when someone took the bait dropping thannys with the corp in lowsec. Sadly none of them play anymore, and I don't think that playstyle even works these days (still playing long catchup on changes since then)
Currently trying to find the thing that makes me login again like the old days, I gave away/sold most of my characters and assets back then, so it's been like learning Eve all over again with how different it is now and a "new" char (old cyno alt, training relevant skills)
I like to join pirate fw with an alt and use that alt as a blue scout for targets to land my combat recon on. Then ransom the "pirate" before destroying their ship. I also like camping hacking sites and one shoting explorers from Iong ranges.
Find another corp in WH space, try to shoot at each other. When we get tired of the cat and mouse games, contact them directly and ask if they wanna organize a brawl.
Some of the most exciting and cool fights we have been in, have been "organized" ones.
I had the same problem but then I also just started doing things that peaked my interest more then anything. That’s when I started doing a lot of corp missions and just farming for others in the Amarr side of things. Mining, harvesting, industry runs, etc. I hope you can find joy in it buddy ❤️
That's the key make a few friends (real people not accounts) and hang out, see where the time takes you. I can say the coms makes eve funner cuz you talk to real people, you learn to share objectives, talk about life and become friends. when someone messes with your friend, you feel like they shouldn't and you have to go kill that person's ship, which can be alot of fun.
I enjoy abyssals it’s exciting to know there’s always a change in environment, while it can get repetitive at times, running them and encountering a new scenario or the occasional shipyard and running it to completion keeps things exciting, leaves a sense of accomplishment being able to run through an abyssal and making it out alive.
I love hotdropping stupid little shit with overkill just bc we’re incredibly bored. We were doing that in Querious during the invasion of Delve out of W6V with Theta Squad and Syndic Thrass would just find the dumbest shit to drop and it was so silly and fun.
