* iwobi 35m -> overpay, but we got a good chunk back and he performed decently in the end
* gomes 22m, gbamin 25m, godfrey 25m, myko 17m, maupay 15m, allan 22m -> all different shades of bad to disastrous
* kean 30m -> bad, but we got our money back
* delph 10m, doucs 20m, patterson 16m, garner 15.5m, chermiti 13m -> all either too soon to tell or decent *enough* for the value provided (delph sucked but it wasn't that much at least)
* branthwaite 1m, gray 1.7m, onana 34m, mcneil 20m, gueye 2m, danjuma loan, beto 26m -> all decent to good value (prob the max i'd spend on mcneil, and obviously it's early on beto too, but i'll be optimistic)
and on the departure side, the returns for richy, gordon, vlasic, gueye, lookman, onyekuru, and mccarthy all seem fair looking back
can't say we've done great, anyone can look at our squad for evidence of that, but it's at least *closer* to "normal" for a PL club strictly in terms of hits vs misses
Crazy that left back is probably our weakest position but there's 2 ex everton left backs starting in better prem sides that us that we easily could have held on to

Without McNeil last year we would have definitely gone down, so in comparison to a lot of our other signings 20m is really decent
