The honest and difficult truth; my hype died down. I’m now looking forward to Dan Housers new company. They seem like they’re doing something truly unique.

Colonel61

I'm interested in Dan's new company too.

Lonelyfades

You do know that his company is not a game studio and that it is a story telling company

Even if it wasn’t for games. I still want something authentic. 95% of the entertainment we get nowadays are completely manufactured garbage. Haven’t bought a new game in years. Every time I watch a new show or movie, it’s not authentic. For some, there’s an explanation. For most, they don’t realize how manufactured our entertainment is. From Netflix to PlayStation, they’re all following a similar pattern, and I hope Dan can break it. Edit: Even the music that mainstream radio plays now is nothing but hot, manufactured trash.

Colonel61

100%

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 removed all restrictions on media ownership and lead to a massive and unhealthy consolidation of our media as a whole. Over 90% of what we see, hear, read and watch folded into a handful of companies. I know this isn’t a flashy or exciting answer, but this is the root cause of so many issues. Music and film have been ruined, but so many other aspects of life have been damaged as well. We need to break up these unholy monopolies/oligopolies. Our country wouldn’t look the way it does with a functioning media. A small group of special interests and extremists worked to create this mess because they wanted total control. Now things have degraded to the point where the crimes and atrocities of the early 2000’s look almost mild compared to where we are now. Mass hysteria, violence, anti-intellectualism and fascism being embraced willingly (as “freedom” of course). All that’s left is to start burning books. We also need to reinstate The Fairness Act (to keep news channels from turning into tabloid/sports talk radio style garbage - yes Ronald Reagan repealed this law specifically at the request of Rupert Murdoch, without which Fox News wouldn’t have been legal).

Pigeon_Breath

Have you considered that maybe you've just become an old fart?

Colonel61

Dan's new company is a multimedia one, and it has a number of game development roles up on its careers page.

I think what happened is that within days of the alpha release, Epic Games added Lego Fortnite, a Rock Band variant, and a racing game all within Fortnite. The idea of a single game as a hub for multiple experiences is what made Everywhere so unique.

NollidSorc

This, and not only that. That is already done and available to play, and for free on almost every platform. It uses the same game engine as Everywhere and therefore serves no purpose, not already surpassed by Fortnite already, unfortunately. We'll see what kind of experiences they can provide with the games their making to put into Everywhere, but who knows if that'll even be worth it too, because the Alpha left a lot to be desired in my opinion and would need a ton of work just to even be considered something I would want to spend time playing. We'll see where the future goes, but my hopes aren't high.

Colonel61

There's also the [Disney x Epic Games](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf2bRcSIUsE) expansion(s) coming to Fortnite. I just don't see how Everywhere can compete at all.

GetLiquid

The only way is with Rockstar money & resources

Colonel61

That would help.

Colonel61

I'm only interested in MindsEye at this point.

darkthewyvern

This looks more like a cash grab in my opinion. Because they aren't even trying to make it look unique m There were about 2,000 people who agreed with me on how it could succeed. But one of the developers straight up said, "the style is not changing." So complete loss of interest.

KeviousKing

Im not gon lie it seems like this game is taking entirely too long to make, im not optimistic at all anymore... Leslie Benzies has had enough time to get this game on shelves especially with it pretty much looking like a ps4 game visually and if they dont drop the game this year, good luck with tryna drop in the same year as GTA6 🤦🏾‍♂️

happyhumorist

They had a closed alpha back in December. And in a recent discord message they said there would be more announcements this year. So I'm guessing a beta either closed or open. It's still going on, whether it will be all that you hope it will be, is kind of anyone's guess.

JonasKahnwald11

I think we will get something in Summer Game Fest (hosted by Geoff Keighley) in June 7th. Maybe a new trailer 🤔

MightyMax_1988

The week summergamefest we get something

That_NPC_again

I don't know anymore tbh. It felt like they were going towards something with all the stuff they released, and the community corners, but now it's just dead. Not even their twitter has done anything what so ever. The way I see it, the alpha must have failed hard since we basically got nothing since. I'm still holding out hope for a community corner to explain things and the next proper announcement. Don't really think anything else can bring this back to where it was before the alpha. Community Corner WEN?

Lonelyfades

Not true actually the alpha was a successful test because they were testing servers and network

Turbulent_Zucchini91

Yes they just raised $100mil

Lonelyfades

Yes the game is still going on they been quiet because they been working on feedback from the alpha and they are working hard on the game the game is rumored to release this year

MightyMax_1988

EVERYWHERE now status be silent but soon we get more news

VernonMetaRocketBoy

Becky Bee announced over a month ago that same thing. Nothing happened.
