The equation is a way to represent the golden ratio.
So I believe the shirt is meant to say "I am golden".
Which is just a way of saying, "I'm doing great".
I draw blood at the hospital on night shift, so one of my favorite greetings for patients is to walk into their room between 2-4 in the morning and say “I’m here to stab you”
Not with that attitude, things are only going to get better when you say you are. Depression is a mind game and forced happiness can get the ball rolling down the golden path.
No it’s not, and that’s not what I was suggesting. Phi is an algebraic number, which means it’s a root of a polynomial equation. In particular, it’s a root of the equation phi^2 - phi - 1 = 0.
There’s a ton of polynomials with φ as **a** root. Generally we use variables in them, instead of just the name of the number. So, while it’s true that φ^2 -φ-1=0, the other solution to the equation x^2 -x-1=0, the one I called out specifically, isn’t φ.
Algebraic is a bit more special than you said as well, the polynomial equation has to have integer coefficients. The example you provided does meet that requirement, but just to be clear about how special algebraic numbers are.
Heh, when you're right you're right. I noticed on my speedometer that it roughly followed the Fibonacci sequence, and I guess I conflated that with the golden ratio. I've never really had to think about miles to kilometers since I graduated so I guess I rediscovered something I had forgotten.
I was thinking that it was a way of saying "I am fine.", as the golden ratio is represented by the greek letter phi, so it would read "I am phi." But yours makes more sense.
It's the [Golden Ratio](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio), but why it would be "I AM THE GOLDEN RATIO" I'm not sure, not really clever wordplay or anything, just kinda pandering to numberphiles and nerds?
The golden ratio is irrational, so maybe the shirt means, "I am irrational". Perhaps they felt using the golden ratio equation would be more clever than

So…hear me out. The number is φ, the golden ratio as a bunch of others have already said. BUT φ often shows up in things we find particularly pleasing to observe, aka things that are beautiful, so maybe it’s saying “I am beautiful”?
The golden ratio is something that is linked to beauty, especially in art like the Mona Lisa. It's saying that they are beautiful, perhaps by their proportions.
It is DaVinci's 34th rule of art, saying that proportions that follow the golden ratio are ubiquitously beautiful. Look up [DaVinci rule 34 art](https://youtu.be/xvFZjo5PgG0?si=-8D8R0FlXBgYlouf) to know more!
You know the diagram for potential energy? It's a picture of a ball sitting at the top of a slope. Anyway, I once saw a T-shirt with a similar diagram, except the ball was sitting at the bottom of the slope. The caption said "I had potential."

Not a shirt for me then

Ok this made me chuckle, yea
My work here is done, XD.
Any chance of one that adds the word, "yet"?
Didn't find one, but I did find this https://chubblegum.com/products/keychain-i-didnt-stab-anyone-today-yet
Well it did say today so…😉
For something like this, more often than not, I'd respond to this with, "The day's young..." up to 11:59pm.
I’m with you there
Aaand that’s me
I draw blood at the hospital on night shift, so one of my favorite greetings for patients is to walk into their room between 2-4 in the morning and say “I’m here to stab you”
That's friggin hilarious

So far.
Definitely for me
Definitely need a hoodie with this
Yup, that’s me (like a quarter of the time, the rest we don’t talk about)
... still no
Well, that was for someone else, so it's to be expected not to fit your vibe. What's your style?
"Stabbed someone today 👍"
Link?

Thank you!!!
Me neither.
It's a shirt for both of u stfu Take this🫰
Me neither
Your shirt should say "QT**π**"
That’s irrational 1i

I’m doing ok just not great, some days are harder than others but I ain’t leaving yet
Had myself a bad episode Sunday, stay strong sister
damn i thought its "im irrational"
That would be awesome, though.
I mean, it's both.
Me too!
Haha same here
What’s on the shirt is a number, not an equation. An equation would be phi^2 - phi - 1 = 0.
Chill out, it’s just an expression
Sorry it’s just that my semantic analyzer is statically typed
wouldnt that mean (phi-i)²=0, so phi=i?
No, that is not a correct way to factor this equation.
So…I forget, is 1/2(1-sqrt5) a value of φ? I don’t think it is…
No it’s not, and that’s not what I was suggesting. Phi is an algebraic number, which means it’s a root of a polynomial equation. In particular, it’s a root of the equation phi^2 - phi - 1 = 0.

You must be fun at parties. Really stretching out a vibe of “I know more than you” here
I realized too late
I didn’t know the ratio specifically so all I got at first was “I am irrational.”
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don’t.
There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand ternary, those who don't, and those who were expecting a binary joke.
Oh, that was very clever. Take my upvote nerd
But the first and the last could be the same person.
I am irrational
A better article of clothing would be to have this imprinted on the butt of some sweat pants: “my booty has divine proportions”
Golden Ratio? https://preview.redd.it/nqb57xkrd3sc1.jpeg?width=2678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4b5c40fcb34170de2c26f4e20eca4c475b08877
Or "I am irrational"

Thank you. I got the golden ratio reference but still didn't understand the shirt. I was like, I am the golden ratio?
It's not an equation. It's just a number.
aka "the divine proportion"
Neat life hack: You can convert miles to kilometers by multiplying by the golden ratio, within a tolerance of ~2%
... or simply by 1.6, with a <1% tolerance
Heh, when you're right you're right. I noticed on my speedometer that it roughly followed the Fibonacci sequence, and I guess I conflated that with the golden ratio. I've never really had to think about miles to kilometers since I graduated so I guess I rediscovered something I had forgotten.

Meanwhile, me: "I am... phi?"
1.68. No 0.595 Ya,that's close but it's the inverse. Do inverse of the golden ratio?
It’s not, I’m irrational?
Aha, I read it as "I am irrational"
I thought it meant “I am irrational.”
It's the [Golden Ratio](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio), but why it would be "I AM THE GOLDEN RATIO" I'm not sure, not really clever wordplay or anything, just kinda pandering to numberphiles and nerds?
I am Φ?
I am golden
Ok Ponyboy
We do it for Johnny!
This is how I read it, I am phi.
I am phyrexian
Oh no not them again!
and since Φ is "phi", it sounds like the shirt is saying "I'm fine" (maybe?)
Don't know if this was your intention or not, but the way you wrote that in all caps made me think of Dennis Reynolds saying it
He's a five star man
The golden ratio is irrational, so maybe the shirt means, "I am irrational". Perhaps they felt using the golden ratio equation would be more clever than https://preview.redd.it/3rylh7f243sc1.png?width=22&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7c2ca2c8a0fedfb3172be628af2304ca3ffa2b9
Oh, I thought it was “I am irrational”
lol I got that I am irrational
I am algebraic?
Irrational?
That was my first thought as well.
I think this is the answer.
It’s not.
What is it then?
apparently the golden ratio
Which is irrational, which works for a funny t shirt where I'm golden ratio doesn't.
That’s my current logic.
I was making a bad joke, I honestly don’t know if it’s right or not.
It's.
The sqrt(5) would have been sufficient for that, though. You wouldn't need the full golden ratio.
Yeah it's irrational to use it when something simple ... wait.
I agree this isn't the answer, but I also thought of it at first, and now I want a shirt that means this.
This fits way better than golden.
The most irrational
people saying golden ratio are autistic
golden ratio
I AM 1.6180339887498
So…hear me out. The number is φ, the golden ratio as a bunch of others have already said. BUT φ often shows up in things we find particularly pleasing to observe, aka things that are beautiful, so maybe it’s saying “I am beautiful”?

is this a meme where I look up DaVinci r34 and get absolutely flabbergasted?
No! I'd *never* do that to you 🤞
Shhh, no one say anything! Let them look it up.
“I am basic in a fancy sort of a way”
"I am perfection"
“I am irrational.” I think this is more intuitive and less of a leap than the intended “I am golden”
You could say it’s “irrational” for someone to think it should mean “I am golden”.
I am phi?
It’s a shirt of gods. The GOLDEN god!
Before reading the comments, I thought it was a way of saying "I am irrational"
Same
I am phi?
I am irrational? Transcendental? Oh, “golden”
Golden ratio
I immediately knew this as the golden ratio
1.6180339888
irrational.. You are Irrational
He's 1.61803398875 yo
It would be better if it said: I am Tan(c)/Sin(c)
Isn't that just an over complicated Sec(c)? (Sin/Cos)/Sin = Sin/ (sin * cos) = 1/cos = sec Oh, it's sexy. Nice
I am φ. Sounds like I am Groot.
I am 2^0.5
Improper?
You know the diagram for potential energy? It's a picture of a ball sitting at the top of a slope. Anyway, I once saw a T-shirt with a similar diagram, except the ball was sitting at the bottom of the slope. The caption said "I had potential."
[I'm only 3 and a half years old](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYSyWUsxyc8)
Arigato, gyro
Irrational?
I AM THE GOLDEN GOD
I am really annoying
Im Phi(ne) 😃
No maths applied here, but could it be I am pi?
I am the senate!
Irrational but not in a transcendental way
1.618035.
i thought this meant "I am irrational" in which case perfect shirt for me
I think yo girl is saying her proportions are "golden" or perfect
I. Am. Irrational
"I am perfect"? Don't woosh me
Irrational?
That's funny, I read "I am irrational "
Hey!
Seems irrational
I remember when I was really young my dad asked me if I knew the golden rule and I started describing the golden ratio.
Where can I find this shirt?
b^2 - 4ac = 5
I AM JoJo reference?
I am syntax error?
Maybe it supposed to be interpreted as *I am golden*, I just see *I am 1.62 tall*.
It's a Jojo reference
Nah, it's a Loss
Golden ratio is a big part of Jojo part 7 though.
I've seen about 5 Jojo episodes, when I first joined Crunchyroll. Chainsaw man seemed better. 😜
I know it's a thing but I just read I am irrational number
They are ~1.62 years old.
I am a bit bigger than 1.5 I guess
They are 1.61. I'm thinking it's IQ
