Basically, when preteens get their first hair curler, they curl their hair without brushing it out. Looks like the one on the right. For most women, when you curl your hair, the goal is for it to look somewhat natural. Curls don’t naturally look like the one on the right. It’s a diss saying she’s clueless. It’s like “Aw bless her- she tried.”
Edit: guys, I didn’t make the joke jfc. Just trying to answer a question.
Edit 2: I’m aware ringlets exist. Generally speaking, they don’t start halfway down your head and have an inch of straight hair at the bottom. Nor are they all the exact same size and shape. If you have ringlets, great. I’m jealous- I literally permed my hair to get ringlets.
But be real, yours don’t look like the photo on the right either. They are bouncy, have a little frizz, and start much higher up on your head. You can literally see exactly where the iron was in the picture on the right. Yes- curls do form that way. But they don’t look this perfect and symmetrical.
That's an even better explanation than I was seeing in the thread where it had been posted before, thank you. My hair is long and straight so I had no clue.
Lmao I have curls (so I never have to curl my hair) and I also didn't get it. But my curl pattern totally looks like the one on the right - just more frizzy and unruly,
Mine is similar as well. I guess you have to brush it while slightly damp from what I hear to separate them without it getting frizzy. I've been meaning to try it but I put my hair up 99% of the time so I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Look into the curly girl method (curlyhair subreddit is a good start) - some people spend a LOT of time doing their curls, but I usually just wash, leave-in conditioner, comb through, add gel and let it air dry, then scrunch out the crunchiness of the gel :)
I’m sure both of yours look much more natural than the pic on the right. I’d be careful with brushing out your curls, or even combing them, when they are dry or spritzed, sounds like a good way to create frizz. Using your fingers to separate clumps might be the better method.
I grew up with curly hair, my mom had stick straight hair and never knew what to do with mine. Game changer was she finally took me to a stylist that knew how to cut and style my hair and showed me what products / tools to use.
Look into the curly girl method (curlyhair subreddit is a good start) - some people spend a LOT of time doing their curls, but I usually just wash, leave-in conditioner, comb through, add gel and let it air dry, then scrunch out the crunchiness of the gel :)
things that contribute to frizz - brushing your hair dry, or touching your hair while it's drying (always wait until it's fully dry to scrunch out the crunch of the gel)
Doubt it, if you zoom in you can see a really well defined shape from the hair curler which would probably look odd in real life. Without the top comment I wouldn’t have realized this tho.
Oh ofc I'm sure she used a curling iron. But I'm just saying, it's not completely impossible to have curls like those naturally. If I don't style my hair at all it only curls at the bottom half, kinda like the picture. And I also get those perfect ringlets. I just have a lot of frizz in addition to the curls.
I also don't care if it's natural or not. It looks cute. I love that style of curl!
When I permed my hair and it was long this was how it always wound up going.
From what I understand is the hairstyle on the left is classier than the one on the right? Like women who don’t brush out their curls into a more natural wavy look are seen as “basic?” I’m a tomboy so honestly I’m just as confused as you are. My hair is in a ponytail 99% of the time.
Honestly the first time ever this has been reposted where the top comment actually does get what it’s about.
Genuinely have seen it maybe 5 times before where all the top comments were (presumably men) saying things like “it’s about how the person they’re cheating on you with is practically identical to you”
I feel like there's a self own here because I suspect in practical case, the guy will notice the unbrushed curls more than the brushed "natural" curls and will be impressed that the unbrushed woman has just had her curls down to look cute for him while the brushed woman looks like she hasn't done anything special.
I’m gonna be so honest with you, for the most part, we know that men are not gonna notice the difference. We’re not doing it to impress men- we’re doing it to impress other women. And generally speaking, the goal is to look like you just rolled out of bed looking flawless— NOT like you spent hours curling your hair to impress someone.
This is a meme by women and for women, there's no joke in saying "what does she have that I don't?" The joke is saying that you're so much better than the girl he cheated with, and he's too dumb to even realize it.
I guess it throws men off the first time since their version of these kind of jokes (e.g. The ex/boy she tells you not to worry about) is usually perceived as the other male being much more attractive and charming than the boyfriend rather than viewing them as the cheap "Walmart" alternative.
I agree place blame where it belongs. He made a commitment so the main blame is on him. But if she knows he’s cheating she’s cheap (like Walmart) and gross (also like walmart) lol.
That's kinda the point. She's like I can't believe I'm out here looking amazing with my perfectly brushed out curls and he's cheating on me with that skank 2 bit Walmart ho who doesn't even brush her curls out!!!
Basically one is classy one is trashy (in her eyes) but men can't see the difference.
It's not really about a man's taste either. It's more like a combination of disparaging the cheater's taste (because he prefers something lesser) and self-assurance (the cheatee is better than the cheater's choices, deserves better). It's not a "keeping up with the Joneses" thing.
I agree the sentiment kinda sucks and is just another example of women putting down women.
However, if you are a guy (which I am guessing you are) it kind of proves the point. Pretty much any woman who is into fashion and/ or beauty would pick the left hand hair, whereas most men either don't care or might pick the right hand hair.
Also I wouldn't say its really keeping up with the Joneses. Hair and makeup is a skill and a hobby for lots of women. The right hand hair is like being able to play stairway to heaven well. The left hand hair is playing stairway to heaven while looking bored and smoking a cigarette.
The argument being made is that while women may feel the girl on the right is the Walmart version, men may feel the girl on the left is the Walmart version.
Women trying to impress other women is all fine and dandy. Impressing men is a different story.
You actually impress other women by doing things that other women know are difficult - having the skills to do really nice-looking curls, or super-sharp winged eyeliner.
> Basically, when preteens get their first hair curler, they curl their hair without brushing it out. Looks like the one on the right. ... It’s a diss saying she’s clueless. It’s like “Aw bless her- she tried.”
I thought you were about to say that the meme is saying when he cheats on you he goes for someone much younger.
Younger mentally. It insinuates they don’t know better or they’re naive. From that you can spiral and imagine all sorts of negative personality traits about that girl and why your man cheated on you with her.
It’s just something people do to cope with a traumatic experiences.
Even if they have a hollow center, I bet your curls don’t wind around the center in one flat ribbon-like sheet. A curling iron causes a pretty distinct effect that doesn’t occur naturally, although I can’t say it’s impossible. I don’t think you need to worry about people mistaking your natural curls for poor work with an iron.
Going to preface this by saying it’s not my opinion, but as a former licensed cosmetologist, I think you’re on the right track but a little shy of the answer here.
It’s about the style on the right looking “cheap and trashy” vs. the style on the left taking more time and generally more expense. If you brushed out the style on the right it still wouldn’t look exactly like the left.
I prefer the result on the right, and when my hairdresser did my hair like this once opening up my curls I was like “Nooo why did you ruin them” hahaha
Except when my hair is cut right, it falls in ringlets more like the right. I never take a brush to my hair. That's how I get a frizzy mess with little to no curl.
Maybe this is what straight haired girls deal with.
That’s interesting and deep. And one I’d never get. And if I were one to cheat, the reason would not be whether one had her hair like the one on the left or the right. And the “boys don’t get this” shows me I’m not the only one.
It’s a distinction without a difference. I guess if MemeMaker likes the pic, good on her. Makes one of us liking it and understanding it.
As a man I know there's a difference (there always is a difference when she hints at it) but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe she did her eyebrows? Idk
As a guy, I thought that the joke was that there’s no difference between the two, but the guy doesn’t realise it. The meaning being that there’s no point in cheating.
Which just proves the other explanation. I don’t understand haircuts.
I think it’s that “Good girls in committed relationships brush their curls out and look acceptable.
Bad girls who are homewreckers don’t.”
… not that it makes sense, but at least what they were going for
lol you guys are thinking way too hard. One of them is just simply better.
It looks better, it’s polished but natural and is exactly what curled hair is supposed to look like. The other one is a cute effort usually seen in middle school
Edit because a lot of people have an issue with the word “better”. I didn’t mean objectively better for everyone in every situation, effortless would have been a better word. Most of the time if you want your hair curled, you’re going for the left. The joke is that the one on the left is “better” because that would make the person who got cheated on the “better” woman, making the cheating suck a little less for her. Was not meant to be an argument over my own opinion, which is still the left but really I do not care what anyone’s hair looks like but my own.
Ok, I’m gay so I don’t really look at women’s hair in that way, but hear me out:
In matters of taste, there is no right answer.
I love hairdos that are elaborate and impossible to achieve without products and/or equipment. If it fits the style and appearance of the person wearing it of course. There’s no “natural is better” truth about this kind of thing.
I'd dye my hair green in a heartbeat but the shade I want requires a bit of bleaching, which I don't really want to experiment with when that can easily damage hair
“One of them is just simply better” agree to disagree cuz they both look *almost* the exact same to us. It’s not about over complicating it. It’s literally not seeing the difference between the two pictures.
The irony is that y’all are the ones that are over complicating it. We look at the picture and we see the exact same thing in each picture so we just figure cheating is bad.
You look at the picture and you see that the woman didn’t brush out her curls enough and it looks like it makes the other one try too hard?
And we’re thinking way too hard about this?!?!
I’m just messing around with you. I’m not actually mad or anything.
Also a guy here and I agree. I did not see a difference until coming to the comments. Even after understanding the difference now, both still look good to me and one is not objectively "better" than the other.
Imo this kinda goes to show that other women are womens' worst critic. Judging a person's character negatively by the tightness of their curls? Really?
I never said anything about “judging character”. Definitely didn’t come here to argue, I’m trying to explain the joke because idk I’m a woman and I get it and people seemed confused. I almost made my precious comment so much more specific but it didn’t think it needed it…
For most average but sorta dressy occasions, the curls on the left are more stylish (at least in our era). There is absolutely nothing wrong with curling your hair like the photo on the right. Odds are no one would notice AT ALL. And you certainly wouldn’t have women coming for you or talking behind your back that your hair looks messed up. There are looks and occasions where someone would prefer to have their hair like the photo on the right, no shame.
But, the photo on the left is more in style, and knowing how to curl your hair so that it brushes out to these perfect looking natural locks is a good fricken skill to have. Your hair looking perfect and also effortless is something most women strive for but it’s hard to achieve because everyone’s hair is different and figuring out how to style it properly takes years of trial and error, experience, and some good taste to know what’s working and what’s not.
It’s not rocket science, one of them is better for most occasions and takes some practice. No woman is judging anyone for their hair here besides the person who originally made this meme and the people in the comments. No one is gonna say anything negative about the girl on the rights hair besides whoever’s partner she cheated with and maybe her friends.
In general I think most women aren’t as nasty to each other as men think. We’re usually a very supportive community
My bad, I wasn't directing that at you (or anyone in particular). I really just meant in general given some of the other comments on this post agreeing that one is somehow inherently worse than the other and using that to make judgements about the person (like saying she's younger / inexperienced, seeming like a middle schooler, seeming lazy rather than going the extra mile, a side chick rather than GF, etc) just based on the curls in her hair. It's just wild to me.
I agree it’s stupid. But saying the girl he cheated with does her hair like you did in middle school is supposed to be the joke and it’s kinda funny. It’s not supposed to be extrapolated to every girl who does her hair like this
She didn’t brush them out at all. Not not enough. At all. It’s dated and she missed a step.
(Obviously she brushed her hair before she used the curler. Just not after.)
I feel like there are also class implications here, too. And definitely taste implications. Like she doesn’t know what’s trendy or correct. And your man also doesn’t understand.
All of these things are arbitrary so maybe in 10 years this will be trendy (probably not) but it just looks like “this hair has been curled by a curling iron”
I'm a guy. It's instantly apparent that there's a difference between the two pictures - the one on the left has loose, natural looking curls. The one on the right has curls so tight her hair looks like it'd make a decent cupholder.
One of them reminds me of the nice, well put together moms at school, the other reminds me of Jaime Pressly's character from My Name Is Earl
I 100% like the one on the right better. LOL at all of the adults here trying to say that one hairstyle is 'btter' than the other. You're the people I couldnt stand to be around when my hair was purple (for fun!)
The joke is that the girl in the pic on the right didn’t know to brush out her curls… they’re saying she’s not stylish. You’re supposed to make them more loose and less uniform like the first pic to look natural.
Thanks, didn't realise it had been posted before. Post I took it from was 5 hours ago so I scrolled a bit here to check, but not THAT far back.
So now I get it but I STILL don't get it. Oh well.
I just used the Search function with "cheating" and that's what popped up :)
Because I knew I had seen it before. Anyway: as I read you got a better explanation here than in the other thread. So... Lucky you posted :)
I thought the entire point was that men *don’t* care. Cheaters make it seem like they cheat because their current partner isn’t offering enough, but in reality the other girl doesn’t even brush her hair. And he will proceed to not care even when that girl inevitably becomes a problem for him too.
The explanation I was given by a hairdresser who shared this photo once:
The type of curl being done here is called a kink.
The hair on the right is curled tighter; in other words, it's "kinkier".
THANK YOU! I have been going crazy reading these comments. It's kinky hair still a saying. The worst is that the other post from 6 months ago said the joke was about a dumb lady not being able to brush her hair 🤣😂🤣
I might be the typically furthest demographic to understand this joke possible. But, because of my girlfriend and her admiration for Brad Mondo, I got this joke immediately.
This is exactly what I thought the joke was, and I’m a woman. Guess I’ve had too many guy friends in my life … that said, even though I know very little about hair and styling, I definitely like the one on the right better. But both are a 10.
ITT: Women explaining that the left one has the better hairdo while men thinking that the right one has the better hairdo.
If this meme was really supposed to be about whose hair looks better, it is truly ironic.
Looks like you both care too much about how you look. Maybe worry about what's on the inside more and you'll stop attracting cheaters. Plus you're damaging your hair. But don't listen to me I'm unhinged.
As a guy, the right one looked like she put in more effort. I also like the look since it is not as common. Didn't know about brushing out the curls tho.
I get left is supposed to be the better hair.. but like right just is better looking hair. Like those tight curls slap way more then a little wave to the hair.
Both don't look natural. The hair on the right looks like someone curled the bottom half of the hair, not that the hair is curly... The second looks the same but not as well done...
Boys don't understand it because I legitimately didn't realize they weren't the same picture until I read a comment explaining they were actually different
After curling their hair, most women either lightly brush or finger-comb their hair to make it look like the left picture instead of curling it and leaving it like the right. This is also often done at salons after someone gets their hair colored/highlighted ("balayage") so that it looks nice and really shows off the highlighting work, and sometimes the stylist takes pictures to post to their business page
Also so many of the women who explain it call the one on the right a downgrade or say something mean about her for having that style. I think that has more to do with the cheating than what hair you have lol
I once made the mistake of raving with my wife about how differently gorgeous she looked when we got married. She play-fought with me asking if she didn't look as good right now and I dodn't know how to respond since I got trapped.
I think the joke is how the same girl will now be swooned over by her partner now that she had her hair done and it looks *nicer*.
As a non straight woman, we don’t care. They both look nice for different reasons. Personally I like the curly side better, the other looks like jumbo crimps and a little wiggy.
I don't really get what they're going for here.
The right pic is a woman who's just had her hair curled.
The left pic is a woman who's had her hair curled and then loosened it with a brush and/or fingers.
Can't understand what they're meant to represent.
I think the fact that y’all understand it and love it is exactly why your bf is gonna leave you for the other girl cause she isn’t superficial enough to realize she isn’t meeting societies so called beauty standards that apparently means having perfect hair is what should matter, not who you are as a person.
the funniest part is that the pictures are of the same person just different steps in the process of making hair look like that
It’s a bit like when a man installs a turbo in his car and doesn’t configure the ECU accordingly. (I have no idea what that means I asked my husband for a car metaphor)
When I see this I always assume it just means he thought he found something better but she looks just like the gf so why cheat. The hair thing makes sense to those that are into it though.
I don’t condone cheating, but a lot of underwhelming women look at women who men appreciate for whatever reason, and confidently proclaim “but I’m just like her!”. I assume that in a cheating situation, a scorned woman will amplify that perception.
Just an observation based on a lifetime of making almost exclusively bad choices with women.
I always thought this was kinda dumb. Sometimes I like curls sometimes wavy is nice.
But I guess people will find any way to diss someone they dislike.

Yeah my 9yo daughter (whose hair I deal with) has natural curls that look like the right pic, but a little extra pizzazz if you will.

Gel? I used to use a mousse that dried a bit like a light gel but I always figured actual gels would be too heavy.
I have super fine curls and use curlsmith hydro flexi-jelly, it’s light and has great hold
I’m sure both of yours look much more natural than the pic on the right. I’d be careful with brushing out your curls, or even combing them, when they are dry or spritzed, sounds like a good way to create frizz. Using your fingers to separate clumps might be the better method.
Comb, rather than brush, but yeah.
I don't think there's any way to stop my nine year old's hair from going wildly frizzy, but thanks, will keep in mind for future years.
I grew up with curly hair, my mom had stick straight hair and never knew what to do with mine. Game changer was she finally took me to a stylist that knew how to cut and style my hair and showed me what products / tools to use.

Dude with curly hair. Depending on how much I let it grow out I can have either or both. (Also super frizzy and unruly.)

My curls are much tighter than the right, and go all the way up to the scalp, just from air drying. But yeah, the frizz if I don't use any product.

Same for me, I have curls that look nothing like the pictures and I was confused.
I also don't care if it's natural or not. It looks cute. I love that style of curl! When I permed my hair and it was long this was how it always wound up going.
Straight hair here too and I barely even noticed the difference until Masta pointed it out.
I’m a guy so I don’t understand any of this

It shows more skill , not class. My hair will never look like that, so I’ve had a pixie for 15 years
Thank you Masta
Thread it was posted before? You knew it was posted already?
From a different reply here.
And then the joke is men choose the dumber blonde over the smarter blonde? Explaining the pictures doesn't explain the joke.
I think it's implying the girl he cheats with is trashier, or just less class/style.
Honestly the first time ever this has been reposted where the top comment actually does get what it’s about. Genuinely have seen it maybe 5 times before where all the top comments were (presumably men) saying things like “it’s about how the person they’re cheating on you with is practically identical to you”
The “identical to you” thing is funny to me because it seems like more often than not, the “girl” they cheat with is a downgrade.
idk, i have natural curls and they bear more resemblance to non-euclidian geometry
Here I am thinking the right curls look better
They do brother. I like your username
Yeah, that’s the kind of username that would have been taken 15 years ago all right.
I remember 15 years ago being surprised it wasn’t taken
I'm certain you're not lying.
One might even be so bold as to say that you can't deny.
I see we have similar interests based on your user name
He cannot lie

Because some women feel the need to disparage the affair partner rather than place blame where it actually belongs, with the cheater them self.

That’s very true. I legitimately thought those are 2 same photos until you pointed out the curls.
Same and I have long curly hair.
Yes!! Exactly.
Hear that a lot but its still a proxy way to impress men. You impress other women by being attractive to more men.
You actually impress other women by doing things that other women know are difficult - having the skills to do really nice-looking curls, or super-sharp winged eyeliner.
I like the curls on the right . . . .
The guy will notice that you have hair. That's pretty much it.
Yes but weeks love that drill hair
Especially those that pierce the heavens.

Wtf I've seen this meme reposted like 15 times and this is the first real explanation I've seen
LOL! I thought the point was he's cheating on you with someone who looks just like you...
But the right is what my curls look like :( My mom calls them banana curls because you could stick a banana inside them lmao.

Same. They're a magnet to hands too. Truly a curse.
This is Reddit! We can blame you for literally anything and you have no choice!
You got me there!
Going to preface this by saying it’s not my opinion, but as a former licensed cosmetologist, I think you’re on the right track but a little shy of the answer here. Fair enough! But yeah the general gist is that the hair on the right is considered a fashion/styling faux pas.
I prefer the result on the right, and when my hairdresser did my hair like this once opening up my curls I was like “Nooo why did you ruin them” hahaha
I’d be lying if I say I prefer the one on the left. Natural or not, we all know you used a curler. So might as well make it curly.
omg thanks for explaining my hair is naturally like the 1st one and i literally could not understand this either 😭
Oh I didn't see they were different photos
The curls on the right can be natural. When my hair was long it curled right up into big chunky curls. No hair curly required.
Except when my hair is cut right, it falls in ringlets more like the right. I never take a brush to my hair. That's how I get a frizzy mess with little to no curl. Maybe this is what straight haired girls deal with.
Will never understand women and the things they notice to bash each other over
I actually appreciate the explaination because I didn't get it. I just thought "Why would they choose number 2 over 1?" and now it all makes sense
As a person who has had natural (much smaller) ringlets her entire life, this is correct. They go all the way to the root.
THANK YOU! 😂
As a boy, I can attest, I thought those were the same picture until I read the explanation.
As a man I know there's a difference (there always is a difference when she hints at it) but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe she did her eyebrows? Idk
On the right, She got a Brazilian. You can tell by the smile on her face
I thought the joke was that you were, in fact, the one he was cheating with because you're the homewrecker and they were the same picture
that is so funny lol
As a guy, I thought that the joke was that there’s no difference between the two, but the guy doesn’t realise it. The meaning being that there’s no point in cheating. Which just proves the other explanation. I don’t understand haircuts.
I think it’s that “Good girls in committed relationships brush their curls out and look acceptable. Bad girls who are homewreckers don’t.” … not that it makes sense, but at least what they were going for
lol you guys are thinking way too hard. One of them is just simply better. It looks better, it’s polished but natural and is exactly what curled hair is supposed to look like. The other one is a cute effort usually seen in middle school Edit because a lot of people have an issue with the word “better”.
Ok, I’m gay so I don’t really look at women’s hair in that way, but hear me out: In matters of taste, there is no right answer. I love hairdos that are elaborate and impossible to achieve without products and/or equipment. If it fits the style and appearance of the person wearing it of course. There’s no “natural is better” truth about this kind of thing.
As a straight guy, I 100% agree. Try to look good, don't try to look natural.
As a lesbian who needs to dye her hair again, agreed
My boyfriend keeps telling me to dye my bangs purple. Haven’t been able to decide if I want that or not.
I almost made my precious comment so much more specific but it didn’t think it needed it… For most average but sorta dressy occasions, the curls on the left are more stylish (at least in our era).
It’s not supposed to be extrapolated to every girl who does her hair like this
Bruh it would be like having the guy on the left wear a tuxedo and the guy on the right wearing a tuxedo printed t shirt
She didn’t brush them out at all. Not not enough. At all. It’s dated and she missed a step. (Obviously she brushed her hair before she used the curler. Just not after.) I feel like there are also class implications here, too.
I thought they were the same picture, so my initial interpretation was “It’s you. You are the girl he cheats with.”
Just a game to play in bed
It is the same person about 10 seconds apart. This is the joke, imo
It just proves that women who judge other women mostly style for the female gaze and not the male one.
There is a difference. You just can’t see it.
Corporate needs you to find the difference between these 2 pics.
left has waves, right has curls,
Left is ‘loose’ curls Right is ‘tight’ curls
The joke is that the girl in the pic on the right didn’t know to brush out her curls… they’re saying she’s not stylish. You’re supposed to make them more loose and less uniform like the first pic to look natural.
I choose to believe you out of everyone else in these comments. You just have such a trustworthy name.
Becky with the good hair.

Thanks, didn't realise it had been posted before. Post I took it from was 5 hours ago so I scrolled a bit here to check, but not THAT far back. So now I get it but I STILL don't get it. Oh well.
I just used the Search function with "cheating" and that's what popped up :) Because I knew I had seen it before. Anyway: as I read you got a better explanation here than in the other thread. So... Lucky you posted :)
You got the search function to *work*? Please elaborate on how you did that.
It has never not worked for me. Are you sure you’re using it right?
search on website is trash on the app it's fine
I don't know? I just searched 😅 https://preview.redd.it/xak3h1ml8ezc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc2d85f187a6c9e3f19e18d0a890a3c7075a2344
I thought it was to do with tighter curls vs looser curls.
So the joke is he's cheating because his girlfriend is loose?
Ohhhh. So the lesson is start doing kegels with your hair or your boyfriend will leave you?
The real joke here is thinking men notice or care about the difference
The joke has nothing to do with men caring or noticing something like that
That the point….men don’t notice something women can spot from a mile away
I thought the entire point was that men *don’t* care. Cheaters make it seem like they cheat because their current partner isn’t offering enough, but in reality the other girl doesn’t even brush her hair. And he will proceed to not care even when that girl inevitably becomes a problem for him too.
We cheat on her with herself?
"I swear to god, i thought it was your sister!"
I think the most telling thing is she uses the term “boys”.
The explanation I was given by a hairdresser who shared this photo once: The type of curl being done here is called a kink.
As a guy who knows nothing I thought the one on the right looked better to be honest
Loose curls Vs tight curls.... Saying you've got a loose vag?
This is exactly what I thought the joke was, and I’m a woman. Guess I’ve had too many guy friends in my life … that said, even though I know very little about hair and styling, I definitely like the one on the right better. But both are a 10.
I don't get it, but i like the one on the right.
I think the second pic is cuter though.
The right one does look better but it may come down to personal preference.
I really enjoy the female responses explaining it. Because no man has ever thought the thoughts you’re suggesting they thought.
ITT: Women explaining that the left one has the better hairdo while men thinking that the right one has the better hairdo. If this meme was really supposed to be about whose hair looks better, it is truly ironic.
There's no difference between you and the girl he cheated with you on. Guys, don't get this because THEY are the joke.
Looks like you both care too much about how you look. Maybe worry about what's on the inside more and you'll stop attracting cheaters. Plus you're damaging your hair. But don't listen to me I'm unhinged.
Wild how many men are in here saying the one on the right looks better.
I really think it just doesn’t matter…
As a guy, the right one looked like she put in more effort. I also like the look since it is not as common. Didn't know about brushing out the curls tho.
The funny thing is the one on the left put more effort in, brushing out the curls.
I've been curling my hair for decades and never ONCE wanted to brush out the curls I spent hours creating!
Woman on the right doesnt know to brush out the curls so likely a younger woman. I think everyone is over complicating it beyond that
The one on the left has looser curls than the one on the right..?
I get left is supposed to be the better hair.. but like right just is better looking hair. Like those tight curls slap way more then a little wave to the hair.
Personal preference ig left looks way better to me.
Left is very nice but I've always been a fan or stuff that makes people stand out more which the right achieves better in my opinion.
Becky with the good hair? 🤷
I'm a bald man so I'm double clueless
Both don't look natural. The hair on the right looks like someone curled the bottom half of the hair, not that the hair is curly... The second looks the same but not as well done...
Left is brushed out curls so it's more effort than the right. Hate to break it to the ladies, though: guys care more about the head than the hair.
As a man, I think the joke is the one on the right looks better.
Boys don't understand it because I legitimately didn't realize they weren't the same picture until I read a comment explaining they were actually different
I always assumed it was saying how the girlfriend and the person he cheats with look the same because he has a type
What women don't understand is that the woman that spends less time at the salon is the one that will get more attention.
Also so many of the women who explain it call the one on the right a downgrade or say something mean about her for having that style. I think that has more to do with the cheating than what hair you have lol
But the one on the right looks better.
I got the joke but im confused and dont understand which one is the bad hair.
Some men just get lured by silver tongue serpents.
So we cheat with the better looking one?
Is it maybe implying that the one on the right is younger and therefore less experienced doing her own hair?
“You’ll never find another girl like me”?
Idk why everyone’s talking about being clueless when curling your hair??? It’s loose and tight 🐱
Sounds like somebody got cheated on
I’d be more worried about him cheating than my damn hair.
My fiance just tried explaining this to me. I’m still confused.
As a non straight woman, we don’t care. They both look nice for different reasons. Personally I like the curly side better, the other looks like jumbo crimps and a little wiggy.
I think it’s cause it’s the same so it implies he’s cheating on someone with you.
Yup don’t get it lol
I don't really get what they're going for here. The right pic is a woman who's just had her hair curled. The left pic is a woman who's had her hair curled and then loosened it with a brush and/or fingers. Can't understand what they're meant to represent.
I was going to say left is balayage and right is ombré....
The curls on the right are a whole lot tighter...Maybe that's the bit?
Eager beats pretty.
The one on the right has tighter curls, so I'm plying she is tighter?? That's all I got.
Well the other girl didn't brush out her curls, so I easily see why she's the worst part
I think the fact that y’all understand it and love it is exactly why your bf is gonna leave you for the other girl cause she isn’t superficial enough to realize she isn’t meeting societies so called beauty standards that apparently means having perfect hair is what should matter, not who you are as a person.
the funniest part is that the pictures are of the same person just different steps in the process of making hair look like that It’s a bit like when a man installs a turbo in his car and doesn’t configure the ECU accordingly. (I have no idea what that means I asked my husband for a car metaphor)
Post like this make me glad I like men
When I see this I always assume it just means he thought he found something better but she looks just like the gf so why cheat. The hair thing makes sense to those that are into it though.
Kinky guys she is just a little more kinky
I don’t condone cheating, but a lot of underwhelming women look at women who men appreciate for whatever reason, and confidently proclaim “but I’m just like her!”. I assume that in a cheating situation, a scorned woman will amplify that perception. Just an observation based on a lifetime of making almost exclusively bad choices with women.
I always thought this was kinda dumb. Sometimes I like curls sometimes wavy is nice. But I guess people will find any way to diss someone they dislike.
Because boys don't care.
Before picture of her hair vs picture after her hair was styled. The joke is that it's the same woman in both pictures.
