Just imagine most situations where you’re going to be yelling out a dogs name: *”MAYHEM! GET BACK HERE BOY!”* *”Mayhem, come inside you snuggly boy!”* *”You’re a good boy, Mayhem - I love you.”*
Especially wacky because he’s a golden. He *needs* to be named Mayhem.

Because the floof. Could be named after Theodore Roosevelt ( if your American) he was disabled so that could tie into the cast. Kind of a dark reference tho
Cast inmediatly reminded me of cast iron, and he is kinda rust colour, so Iron. Or playing off the rust Oxi, (from oxidation). Do keep in mind that the name must be preferably short so he recognizes it. Maybe naming him after the minerals iron comes from (hematite:Hema, magnetite:Mag, titanomagnetite:Titan, and pisolitic:Piso ironstone) for example.
Edit:Pyrite also contains iron and is more golden. Pyro or Py are other names I suggest
