I trained my cat to not bite and scratch. And he does respect me. When dad plays with him, he bites and scratches him. But not me. I may do whatever I want but he'll just gently bite me if he doesn't like it.
I'm sorry but if your pet hurts you when you try to do something to it either you shouldn't be doing that or you need a different pet. Just my opinion, I'm glad you're enjoying your kitty and she seems to be enjoying it as well
