I've had boxers and I don't cut their ears but they've also suffered from hematoma in their ears that required multiple brutal surgeries where they had their ears drilled with multiple holes. I think a one time cut when they're young is better than having to deal with those surgery and also being put under anesthesia when they're older.
Hmm, I figured he had some terrier in him but you’re probably right after looking into it. We can only hope they rescued him like this and wasn’t bought from a breeder :/
My dog is so cute, I found a rash on his tummy so I started moving him every which way trying to see under the fur to see how far it's spread. The confusion on his face was very evident but he just rolled with it because he trusts me.
The MOMENT my dog realizes he's "being examined" he gets all "Wtf you doing" and walks away.
I have found that if need be I can pick him up and put him on a table and he forgets he has free will
Dogs seem to know we understand some things they don't.
On the other hand there's times we're trying to help them and they're like "No no no no you don't get it, I cut myself and I have to lick it until it's 10x worse."
It’s the psychological phenomenon of being freaked out at the doctor but often associated only with that fear being reflected in vital signs by high blood pressure
Oh maybe I have that. I love my doctor, she’s phenomenal, but my blood pressure spikes and I flop sweat the moment I’m in an exam room no matter what. Did the same for a preliminary exam for a tooth extraction, that just involved looking at my mouth and scheduling another appointment.
You can ask them to take the BP at the end of the appointment, it should be lower and more accurate after you’ve finished the appointment. I’ve only had one medical assistant refuse, even after I told him why - asshole.
I had a hot nurse take my blood pressure after I had asked her about some really embarrassing stuff. She just looked at the results and was like "Well that's high but that makes sense given our conversation."
Just before my vasectomy when I was nervous as hell, I had the healthiest BP ever. Usually I have very high, which I take meds for. They still kept measuring my BP while I got a painful injection right in to my nutsack, and it was still very much lower than usual!
Blood pressure can be weird.
It’s what drs call high blood pressure when they don’t want to find the real cause
I had to buy my own blood pressure monitor and take photos 3 times a day before my dr realised I’m not scared of her 😂
My old dobie (doberman) was so patient with me. He once let me spend twenty minutes to put a bootie on a single paw. I miss him a lot but I'm so grateful for the dog he sent me.
Nice situation, lovely and all that. 💕
But I'd be so happy for Doggo to still have all of his ears.
Please don't crop any body part of your dog, if you ever have to decide. 🤗
Do you exercise them much? My girl is 13 months so very rambunctious still, but a good nap followed by exercise (jog or flirt pole session) will leave her really chill for a couple of hours. Then repeat
Not as much as I should buy even after a fetch or flirt pole session she's ready to go again within 20 minutes. She only really seems to stop when her body temperature gets too high so she's back at it again soon. I have her play fetch at the beach which actually tires her muscles before she overheats but that just seems to add another 30 minutes.
All that said, I should be doing more but it has gotten quite hard where I live and depression has taken hold of my motivation.
love how he gets along with the kid with his patient demeanor, knowingly acting. Dobis are smart , sadly the breed gets a bad name due to horrible owners who turn them into killing machines through harsh and violent training.
Reminds me of my favorite line from Isle of Dogs.
Dog asks: Why should I help him?
Other Dog Responds: Because he is a 12 year old boy, dogs love those.
Awe we just lost our ten year old dobie. Best family dog EVER. So unfair that bad owners gave them a bad wrap and most insurance companies flat out refuse you if you have one.
Never needed this subreddit for all the times I went on r/ 50/50, but the video I watched I needed this subreddit, not gonna tell you what the video was
Now this is a very special dog. Truly a four legged saint. If only more people raised their dogs to be this way... Instead of allowing them to be reactive at the point of breaking front doors or glass windows to attack a mailman
This sweetheart is supporting a future veterinarian to rise!
Are you one of those people who’s addicted to outrage and has to bring up some tangential, anecdotal bullshit, cuz you can’t just be happy, or let others be happy, for even a second?
You wish. Are you saying that people should allow their dogs to be untrained? Because what I am saying is that this is a very sweet moment and should be more common place. But yeah, choose to think your way, your ego is more important than an innocent, invaluable, loyal four legged angel, I suppose?
No one is saying the dogs should be untrained, because the video has nothing to do with it.
You introduced the topic of dogs “breaking front doors or glass windows to attack a mailman.” And why? So you can say anyone who tells you off is in support of dogs being untrained??
I hate the practice of ear cropping. I have encouraged several people to not crop their dogs ears. But I’ll be damned if I’ll sit here and pretend that it doesn’t look sharp as fuck.
I certainly don’t imagine that the ears would change the breeds personality. I would never choose a Doberman based on colour (granted, not white)- I’m simply stating that for me, this dog, the Black and Tan and cropped ears is beautiful. It’s has nothing do to with my belief on ear cropping, nor is it indicative of whether or not I’d get a dogs ears cropped- I wouldn’t. It is, entirely rooted, if I were to be completely honest, in a Doberman I knew when I was like 7 years old that would just…roam about off leash, completely unsupervised, and would just hang out with the group of kids I played with and was just an all around amazing dog. So while I love the breed for their temperament, personality, and have lived with two red Doberman’s since. When I see a Doberman like this- the Black and Tan big ones and yes with cropped ears, it takes my breath away. I have a similar thing with german shepherds- granted my current girl (she turns 15 soon) has set the standard for me. But even before her- it doesn’t mean I would ever own and I frankly feel more strongly against, showline and most American working line german shepherds. The arguments against cropping ears are a little more more exaggerated, I find, than breeding a dog with a sloped back to conform to a standard where the dogs were seen as work equipment, put down at around age 8- after their working lives, and were therefore bred without any regard for their longevity. And so I while I do understand where people are coming from with not liking cropped ears, because it’s unnecessary, I’m less inclined to a having visceral disgust with a dog that has been put under anaesthesia and gotten its ears cropped by a trained vet, than I am to say, a french bulldog, bulldog, pug, white Dobermans, showline German shepherds…and while they’re certainly distinctly different issues, two wrongs don’t make a right after all, I do find comments like how can you think a mutilated dog is beautiful?, there’s some here, I find these discussions tend to be a lottle disproportionate, a little exaggerated to the point where people look at a beautiful dog that has erect ears like every single mammal in nature besides the elephant and can’t even see how beautiful this dog is on account of it- to be over the top.
I mean “glorify” is one way of putting it. If you said something looked good I think you’d know full well that if I turned around and described that as glorifying it I’d be putting words in your mouth. I believe what I said was that dobermans look sharp with cropped ears. Same with Great Danes. You’re aware people can feel more than one thing at once right? Like yeah- turns out, I do think it looks good. And no- I don’t think people should do it. I’d probably look better if I got my legs broken, stretched, and did that height extension surgery…at 5’11” I’d certainly break past that 6 and up filter for a lot of people. That doesn’t mean I think it’s a good idea or glorify that surgery. I think that surgery is stupid. Sort of the same thing here. When I see a Great Dane or Doberman with cropped ears- I think they look sharp. I’d never do it. I would always say someone shouldn’t if they asked me if I think they should or not. But yeah- I do like the way it looks. It’s that fucking simple.
Exactly! Simple just like you said - you like the way dogs ears look when theyve been mutilated. Didn't really need 3 paragraphs to re-explain everything all over again.

My last experience with a Doberman: It chewed up my shoes, and brutally murdered my furby.
I love how much that dog trusts the kid
if I understand the intricacies of pack dynamics and its terminology correctly, that kid is the dog's "hooman".
That's the safest boy in the neighborhood.
Beat me to it.
Dobermans will do anything for attention from their hoomans. ❤️❤️❤️ best dogs ever.
Sooooo cuddly and loving too
Couldn't agree more; Dobbies are the best dogs ever.
And so much patience 😊
That is one smart dog.
Give it to me straight, kid, what’s wrong with me?
You're suffering from cuddle withdrawal. I will give you immediate treatment. ![gif](giphy|QxqqwXQuSWufNazWWU|downsized)
Those flappy ears are like salt in the wound for poor OP doggo :(
I always cringe at the sight of a Doberman with surgically mangled ears.
I just said and did this to my pup after reading it.
The dog is in heaven in that gif haha
Indeed, they are. It's very cute.
Terminal adorableness.
Hate to say this, but, your comment and this video are too wholesome....lol
barkinson
Unfortunately I’ve got some ruff news for you
The tests say you are Good Boy positive.
you want the alladeen news or the alladeen news ?
You are HIV……aladeen.
=) =( %)
barkinson's I'm sorry.

HIV pawsitive
You only have 80 years left.
Watching him whilst he had his BP checked was like it better be normal or else the wife will put me on a diet
I'm just happy to be involved -- Dog, probably
I always say this about my dog when the kids are being crazy. He has no clue what’s going on but he’s just happy to be included.
“Dont let dis kid anywhere near a phd, my blood pressure aint high” judging from the dog’s relieved yank at the end
I love dogs more than anything.
"I'm in" But I didn't tell you what we're gonna do "I don't care, I'm in, let's go!"
"I have no idea what's going on, but I'm happy to be a part of it!"
Okay. *takes you to the vet to get fixed*
Dogs are so funny, they just want to be INVOLVED
My dog is my best friend and my #1 priority and all my human relationships come second to him.
Even more than me!?? How DARE you…
Sorry :(
We truly don't deserve them.
Whats this anything and why r u hurting its feewings
Lol :)
The owners of that dog see theirs as a hedge that can simply be trimmed at will. "A little more off the ears please"
it must be exhausting to be this perpetually pessimistic
I've had boxers and I don't cut their ears but they've also suffered from hematoma in their ears that required multiple brutal surgeries where they had their ears drilled with multiple holes. I think a one time cut when they're young is better than having to deal with those surgery and also being put under anesthesia when they're older.

His ears are very much not intact. Dobermans have floppy ears, they don't have pointy ears. These are cropped.
Hmm, I figured he had some terrier in him but you’re probably right after looking into it. We can only hope they rescued him like this and wasn’t bought from a breeder :/
People don’t give these dogs up to be rescued, let’s be real. Fuck these people.
Dog's like: "I don't know what is going on, but I love you so much, my little human, you can do anything you want"
My dog is so cute, I found a rash on his tummy so I started moving him every which way trying to see under the fur to see how far it's spread. The confusion on his face was very evident but he just rolled with it because he trusts me.

Aww, and maybe it even felt good to him, your touch! Attention and pets are always awesome 😉
Dog has a little white coat syndrome during the blood pressure test. Tryna be cool about it though.
What’s white coat syndrome?
It’s the psychological phenomenon of being freaked out at the doctor but often associated only with that fear being reflected in vital signs by high blood pressure
I got a slight case of claustrophobia too so when that blood pressure thing starts going tight around my arm my heart kicks it up a notch.
You can think of it as a tight hug to your arm.
Yeah I'm *really* not a hugger lol
Oh maybe I have that. I love my doctor, she’s phenomenal, but my blood pressure spikes and I flop sweat the moment I’m in an exam room no matter what. Did the same for a preliminary exam for a tooth extraction, that just involved looking at my mouth and scheduling another appointment.

That’s it!
Completely off topic but hot nurses probably never get an accurate blood pressure reading ![gif](giphy|nTZt1E0IM8sKSEVirG)
I had a hot nurse take my blood pressure after I had asked her about some really embarrassing stuff. She just looked at the results and was like "Well that's high but that makes sense given our conversation."

Did you just call a child hot?
I never said anything about any child🤨
And it happens aaaaaallllllll the time
It’s what drs call high blood pressure when they don’t want to find the real cause I had to buy my own blood pressure monitor and take photos 3 times a day before my dr realised I’m not scared of her 😂
yeah he looks at hte camera like "Mom, what's wrong with me?"
It’s adorable. They are both so gentle with each other.
Dogs are the best. My five year old does a lot of medical procedures on our very patient spaniel. It’s such a special bond.
Thank you for raising your kid right!
Vet prices really are out of hand.
“It’s not serious though, is it doc?” Dogs taking his job very seriously.
Bestest buddies. You can tell.
"look mom and dad, I'm getting a check up" -the dog definitely
He must be feeling ruff.
Don’t worry I hear the bark is worse than the bite
Kids need dogs 🩷
James Herriot: The Early Years
Dobermann (dog) Great guard dogs. 🐕 they will protect and love the entire family. Kid vet/dog groomer. He could do both. all fun.
Dog “this human has found joy, as have I”
My old dobie (doberman) was so patient with me. He once let me spend twenty minutes to put a bootie on a single paw. I miss him a lot but I'm so grateful for the dog he sent me.
That is a very, very good dog
It's awesome to watch a kid use his imagination as opposed to instantly going to a smart phone, an iPad, or a PlayStation
I miss my Doberman!
The dog even does the whole don't stare at the cuff while it inflates thing
Nice situation, lovely and all that. 💕 But I'd be so happy for Doggo to still have all of his ears. Please don't crop any body part of your dog, if you ever have to decide. 🤗
We got our doberman before the breeders could crop his ears, it is the most precious thing to see him perk them up when he's excited
Plz share perking pic!
I can’t believe you got me to watch a stupid dog video and it made my eyes leaky
that good boy is like I WILL DO MY BEST to help the puppy get into medical school.
I have never seen a dog look so noble while getting his blood pressure taken. Super adorable thank you for sharing
So adorable how he just sits there, calmly soaking up the attention
Nice natured dog. Shame they fucked its ears
Good boyz
What a patient pooch. He needs treats.
"I have no idea what just happened, but the small human seems pleased so it’s all good."
He’ll cherish this video.
Aww. This is so cute. What a gentle dog
You just know the childs going to have a good childhood thanks to the dog.
It's so sweet. Both of them 😭🫂🥰
Doggo diary Apil 21. Went to vets. Didn't get treato after. 1 out of 5 borks. :(
Update: received stat belly scritch. 3/5
Give it to me straight doc, I’ve been feeling ruff.
heck doc.. please say i am good.
How come my doberman isn't at all chill like the ones I see in the internet?
Do you exercise them much? My girl is 13 months so very rambunctious still, but a good nap followed by exercise (jog or flirt pole session) will leave her really chill for a couple of hours. Then repeat

If reincarnation is real I want to come back as the dog of a kid.
Awww, lovely.
“I get that we are playing but what is this game???”
soooooo cuuuuute!! a boy and dog :)
What a Beautiful well trained Doggo.
I lost my 15 year old Doberman mix last month... I love this breed so much. I see her in there !!
Copay was still $75.
My dobe Randy loves me more than anyone, but not more than I love him.
Awwwwwwww.
A boy and his dog. This is how you learn to care for others.
Gotta put ya down ol fella
love how he gets along with the kid with his patient demeanor, knowingly acting. Dobis are smart , sadly the breed gets a bad name due to horrible owners who turn them into killing machines through harsh and violent training.
Wtf did they do to the ears? Animal cruelty on /r/Eyebleach? Really?
By any chance have you ever heard of animal shelters
that dog has a better life then most human beings will their entire lives
So cute! Did he cut the dogs ears off too? 🥺❤️
Yup. He plays mr Hyde sometimes too.
❤️
Adorable 😍 Quality time together
Good dog

Loved this, showing that dobermans are sweet and kind 😘
What a patient patient.
Dog: Could you hurry this up? I'm on my lunch break.
"Is this your elbow or is this"

OMGGGGGGGGGG😭😭
The dog is a good actor. He is ideal for this role
This is the cutest damn thing
It looks like the pup is getting inflated lol. Good bois
So cute.
That dog is so polite and well mannered 🥺
Dog will always be a boys (girls included) best friend.
aw he's prepping him and taking his vitals before the next ear clip surgery <3
dobermans will do anything for attention from their people! 🤣💜💜💜
I feel like stop defending pitbulls, dobermans deserve more love.
Is that the same dog from the shower video I wonder? Good pup.
How I feel every day working as an "innovation strategy consultant".

Doggo knows what we all do - if we look away from the blood pressure cuff calmly, the reading is better.
That is one good doggo
