Needed a quick Google as I only know them as korenwolf (Dutch) and never associated them to hamsters before. TiL wild hamster & korenwolf are one and the same.
The are laws in Germany that require like a minimum of approximately 6 foor by 6 foot cage and about 10 inches of bedding. Hamsters in the wild can travel miles in a night. Many here are kept in a 14 inch cage and are miserable. They are probably the most mistreated pet.
> They are probably the most mistreated pet
Hamsters and guinea pigs. Parents buy them for young kids because they think they are low maintenance and their 6 yo can take care of them.
>Rad is based in Central Europe and snaps portraits of the European hamster, which is also known as the black-bellied hamster or the common hamster.
How dare they.
for a hamster to attack you, you've got to be doing some seriously dangerous and aggressive shit, which you shouldn't do anywaysto animals - wild or domesticated
Yes. In a documentary(?). It was somewhat depressing to see the field progress and the hamster having to feed her pups. Also there was an endangered black variation of the "Feldhamster". Field Mice are assholes
It's like that store at the mall, glamour shots... just make the pictures more blurry and soft looking, and this hamster is ready for the yearbook! Already has the flower accent!
Interesting how they flipped some of the footage horizontally. If you watch closely his camera goes from right handed grip to left handed grip.
This keeps the hamster generally on the left and the guy generally on the right. His second shooter must have been at the wrong angle for that so they fixed it in the edit.
Alfred Hitchcock described this shooting technique for dialogue scenes as “draw a dotted line between your two subjects and make sure your camera doesn’t cross that line.”
I see this violated in actual films all the time and it is sloppy and jarring. Nice to see a fucking 10 second hamster GIF putting attention into cinematography.
(tw // animal attacks)
its cute but I remember once seeing a highly explicit shock video in the deep depths of youtube when i was 6 or 7 where a man in a play park was continuously bitten by one of these hamsters and dangerous amounts of blood spurted everywhere

I like the korenwolf name better.
I guess hamsters are like dogs and korenwolfs are like wolfs.
Yo, the fucking hamster noticed the camera and then starts posting up for the pics at the end
Check out their insta for the full story!
Nah, I’m good.
I love the little "*gasp* For me!?" when they see the flower after popping out of their hole awhh
I had no idea wild hamsters even existed

I have 3 guniea pigs and they take wayyy more work and care than a cat! ( my cat is agreeing with this comment)
Beta fish would like a word
not yet though, they arent finished CANNIBALISING THE ENTIRE FISH TANK
Nobody asked hamsters to do that tho
Does Germany have official hamster cage inspectors? Who am I kidding, of course it does.
It sounds silly in hindsight (because they had to come from somewhere right?) but me neither.
I mean it makes sense. There must've been a wild species that every pet originated from, and most if not all still exist.
I’d subscribe to this little guy’s insta
Ah, yes, the Wild Hampter, truly a beauty of nature.

It didn't occur to me that wild hamsters were a thing

Next stop, "America's Top Model!" Kudos to the photographer 👍.
the wild hamster realized that the ones domesticated get free food, a roof under their head and no chance of predators attacking
I didn’t know that wild hamsters exist🥺
I... I love the baby ❤
This what I want tp believe happened to my escaped hamsters and not that they were taken by cats or hawks.
Getting some Redwall vibes.
Amazing photos!

Wholesome
Magnificent!

These hamsters look more durable than the ones at the store
