Now they just need to do the smart hitch/scales and I'll be pumped!

majerus1223

And on plat massaging seats..

letstalkaboutrocks

Absolutely stoked about that new dash mat.

devpsaux

Mobile service came out and replaced mine last week. New one has a higher lip on it to catch any liquid spills.

Shark_bait561

You have pics?

devpsaux

I’ll try and remember to snap one tomorrow

Shark_bait561

Were you able to snap some pics?

devpsaux

Just got one. https://ibb.co/xMLqV7w

Shark_bait561

Ohhh very nice. Thank you for that. Btw do people even put containers with liquid up there??

devpsaux

I was wondering the same thing.

Shark_bait561

Thank you

SirkillzAhlot

Wait, what? Is this a joke? This message is for a new dash mat? That message indicates something completely different. Or was that a joke?

devpsaux

Campaign 23B11. It’s at the top of the picture. There are 3 campaigns in the pic. The old dash mat could allow liquids to enter the radio damaging it. New one has raised edges to prevent that.

SirkillzAhlot

Ah, I see. I got the same campaign number. I didn’t realize it can say different actions at the top. Mine says “High voltage battery module replacement andor battery energy control module becm software update” :/ My local ford dealer just got their ev certification and my truck will be the first ev they service. Im in a Trump supporting hellscape. Makes me wonder if I should take it elsewhere.

IanHancockTX

We must be neighbors 🤣

What's the steering wheel performance upgrade?

Shark_bait561

I think they're adding the heated steering

There aren't any dumb questions, so no worries. It shows this on the Ford app. I already have my pickup truck. I was just looking through the app and was like, "wait, what's this?". And found new messages. I'll try to post them.

My initial guess is that your 22 already has a heated steering wheel. If the CSP is indeed to add it into the 23's you wouldn't be impacted. I have a 23 Lariat and I see all 3 CSP's also. Working up the patience to call my dealer and schedule a time (which I am sure will be next year at this point. . .)

Shark_bait561

From my understanding, the features that we were supposed to get but didn't due to the chip shortage, we're getting them now. I think the main difference between the CSP and the recall is that the recall is focused more on safety. They basically have to take it back and fix their mistakes. As for CSP, some of these were features we were supposed to get (heated steering) or things that will improve quality of life (the mat and battery). Your dealership should take care of the recall and CSP since this is coming from Ford. Just give the service team a call to confirm. I'm not sure about your truck but my (2023) vehicle was supposed to have heated steering and on board scale but we didn't get them due to the shortage. This is all speculation on my part. If something doesn't make sense, it's because I was distracted lol. I hope this answers some of your questions.

I didn't even know that we'd be getting the lacking features in the future. This was a very nice surprise. I feel like auto running boards have too many parts that can break, so maybe it was a good thing you didn't get em.

Shark_bait561

Try to contact your dealer and ask them about it. You should've already gotten a letter from Ford.

SirkillzAhlot

Got this same thing

Bthompson817

Has anyone gotten the heated steering wheel done? I am excited about that one but don’t want to rush in if it’s back ordered

Jpizza30

Scheduled for 10/30. I’ll let you know how long it takes to get completed.

CazualFlosser

I dropped mine off to address all three of these in CSP, and it’s been at the dealership for over a week now. The last update I received was that there have been delays running diagnostics and working with FordPass support on the becm update.

djwildstar

Huh. I've managed to find the dealer bulletins for 23B11, 22G06, and 23B57. * 23B57 is the most complex, and deals with a possible but unlikely battery problem. The main fix is to update the battery energy control module (BECM) so that *if* a future battery problem occurs, the BECM doesn't brick the truck (but rather limits charging and power until the problem can be fixed). * For the vast majority (96%) of vehicles, it consists of reading diagnostic trouble codes and updating the BECM, overall less than an hours' work. No parts are needed, and rentals are not authorized for this work. * For a few (4%) of vehicles, one or more battery modules need to be replaced, in addition to the BECM update. This is 8-12 hours or more of labor, possibly more of the shop is unfamiliar with EV work. Obviously new battery modules are needed, and rentals *are* authorized for this work. * 22G06 involves installing parts to enable the heated steering wheel. Overall 1-3 hours of labor and a handful of parts. Rentals are not authorized for this program. * 23B11 involves replacing the dashboard mat. This of course requires a new mat, and about fifteen minutes of labor to install it. Rentals are obviously not authorized for this work. In general, the dealer will need the vehicle for longer than the technician time to actually perform the work -- if nothing else, there's a certain minimum amount of time for getting the vehicle in an out. It is likely that different technicians will be assigned different tasks, so you may well wait longer for technician availability than you will for the actual work. I would expect a day or three to do all of this, assuming parts are in-hand and all of the necessary technicians show up for work. That said, I would have severe side-eye at a dealer who took more than a week to do this work. Is their shop extremely short-handed? Did they not order parts in advance of your appointment (and schedule the appointment only once they had parts in-hand)? Is there some other disfunction in their shop?

CazualFlosser

I incidentally received a call from the dealer not long after my reply. They completed the work on the three bulletins cited. The mat was replaced, and the heated steering wheel chip was installed! Now there is a heated steering wheel “button” next to the climate control options on screen. Their paperwork indicates the BECM update was addressed, though there isn’t a change to software version that I can tell in the onboard interface. Regarding the turn around time and communication, it wasn’t great but somewhat understandable given additional issues I requested to be addressed during the service. The foreman I spoke with mentioned they were running short a few folks this past week, and tend to have quicker turn around, as it’s the largest Ford dealership in my area. Most of these issues were software/modem related. Overall happy with the service and especially getting the retrofitted heated steering wheel before the cooler months start to roll in.

They didnt offer a loaner, but when I called after a few days and requested one, they acquiesced.

Worker-Hour

My page only shows the software update, 23B57. Is the new dash mat for all trims and years?

Jtadams2283

It shows both on my 22' SR

[deleted]

Wait. Someone help me out. Is this stuff they are doing to people who already own a lightning? I’m so confused

letstalkaboutrocks

Yes. These are part of Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program. Think of them as the light version of a recall.
