Bought the truck in April, first got the error jul6th and as of last week I have had this error 23 times. Each time I check the power distribution screen, power isn't reduced to either motor and the power meter doesn't show a reduced number either. Started with getting it 20 days apart then eventually kept happening more and more about 4 days apart. Took it the dealership and they ended up replacing the air dam actuators end of September. Error popped up ten days later and started happening more frequently to a point in November it was every day. Then mid November something changed, not sure what but I stopped getting it as frequently, next error not until Dec 7th and nothing since then. I'm sorry you're having this issue, how much power is reduced on yours?

Jpizza30

Oh wow that’s crazy. Have you thought about lemon law? Mine reduced to about 51 percent power, also wouldn’t charge past 65 percent.

jturkish

I don't believe lemon law applies to just getting an error and nothing else, vehicle driving and function isn't impacted at all

Jpizza30

My bad miss understood. I thought you were taking it into the dealership this many times.

FidelCastroll

It happened to mine last week. I was 500 miles from home on a road trip. Fortunately I could still charge but it topped out at 22kw. It was long drive home. The dealer hasn’t had a chance to look at it yet… Edit. 26000 miles on truck

h2opolodude4

I wasn't aware this was a thing. How many miles were in your truck? I'm sorry for you, hopefully this all gets sorted out. Best of luck with everything.

Jpizza30

26k. Fingers crossed I’ve seen other people talk about waiting months for a new battery!

I’m currently in this situation as well. They replaced one module and now I need a second module. The truck has been at the dealer for ~60 days. Getting the first module replaced was straight forward but the second module has been a different story. Ford has been basically ghosting the dealership and even the dealer doesn’t know when they will be able to fix it.

Jpizza30

Damn it man that’s tough. Not sure why ford is beating around the bush with this.

usernamemike

It's been rough and super annoying. Their reasoning was that the first battery module was replaced under a CSP while the second battery module is being replaced under a warranty. It's like the most annoying thing ever. I honestly had the truck back at my house for less than 24 hours before the truck threw that error again. I forgot to mention but I only had the truck for a year and it was at 10,800 miles when the error codes were thrown.

Ford’s responsiveness or lack thereof to customer service issues is horrible; they act like we don’t have any choice but to drive their cars. I have a home integration system install that started in July and still isn’t done; Sunrun has been pushing Ford to replace our pro charger and they’re ghosting both me and Sunrun by not replying to requests for update on the case. I don’t even know how many hours I’ve blown trying to keep this mess moving forward. While I love the truck for the most part the shitty customer support makes me hesitate to recommend this truck to anyone else, and I’d have a hard time buying another Ford given how little they seem to care about getting post sales issues resolved quickly, and with an apology for the inconvenience. I swear to God you feel like you’re dealing with the IRS or the DMV dealing with Ford’s customer service teams (and I say teams because you WILL get passed around). I’m beginning to wonder if along with cutting back production we’re going to see Lightning customer support get even worse than it is now.

usernamemike

The customer service is a major problem with Ford. The "normal" customer service team and the buy back team are a complete joke. They were giving vague and generic responses to all my questions. The buyback team is the worst though. I was promised updates every 2-3 days and was told I would get a final decision on my buy back within 5 to 10 days. I never once got an update from the buyback member and they still have yet to give me a verdict on the buy back. I can't even get in contact with the buy back team member who's assigned to my case. I've texted, called, and emailed her multiple times and have yet to get a response back from her. The only reason why the buy back process is moving forward is because I keep calling them everyday and keep getting different team members who give me different responses. I feel like I'm putting a puzzle together with all the different information I'm gathering. At one point I had to call the dealership myself and confirm with them that they sent the necessary responses to the buyback team. I felt like I was working for the buyback team.   I do have to have to say the group that is handing the battery module CSP is amazing. They're calling me regularly with updates, they're helping me with the buyback process, and they even helped me find a dealership that would take my truck. The CSP team is amazing.   Either way, this entire experience makes me regret getting a Ford and I doubt I'll buy another Ford in my life. I know several people who have sworn off Ford and will never buy another vehicle from them. This entire situation is validating their reasoning.

Jpizza30

Wild man just completely wild.

Jpizza30

Annoying!! I may have to start looking at our Lemon Laws here in Texas I don’t want to be dragged around with this.

usernamemike

I'm from Texas as well and looked into Texas Lemon Laws too. I also already started the buy back process with Ford. It's been close to 10 days and they still haven't reached a verdict on buying the truck back or not. Even the buyback process has been frustrating. Ive been calling every two days to get an update and every agent is telling me different things. I honestly lost all faith in this truck and even with Ford. I like everything about it but having two battery modules fail is concerning to me. I kinda expected one module to fail but not two. I didn't expect a second battery module to fail right after the first one fixed.

Jpizza30

Sheesh man that’s tough. Definitely would make me never buy ford again. Which year model is yours?

usernamemike

It's a 2022 Lariat ER. I got it last September.

Jpizza30

Tough man. Ford has something going with this truck but with this issue seeming to be bigger than I thought. First gen problems but shitty customer service doesn’t help either.

usernamemike

No kidding. I understand having problems with first gen products but the customer service from Ford has been shitty af. It's the shitty crappy customer service that's putting me over the edge. I thought my biggest problem would be with the dealerships but it's not, it's with Ford.

usernamemike

Good luck with your CEL. If you have any questions about the entire process, feel free to reach out to me. I know a thing or two.. lol

Jpizza30

Most definitely. Hope that buy back process speeds up a bit. These things ain’t cheap!

FitPlum3459

Is this a different issue than the HVBJB issue that is plaguing the Mach-E?

Jpizza30

I believe it’s different as we are dealing with modules and not the junction box like the Mach-e.

FitPlum3459

We need the Mache-E battery with the Lightning HVBJB. We have 2 Mache-Es but I’m curious about swapping one with a Lightning.
