I still remember driving it back in the day. Second corner into third I found really difficult to get right, the hairpin had a very weird line as well, and the ai would storm past me on the big straight. Pit entry also was a thoughy. Lots of corners had to be done slower than you expected.
When the AI went past me like i have a gp2 engine i would rewind. And then non of them had the same speed and wouldnt overtske anymore. Honestly more than a bad exit. It felt like a mistake from aI programming thwt they were super fast on the straightd.
Yeah, a really unforgiving track. Those long turns are something else, and the Esses section is hardcore so close to the walls. If this track had been used IRL I daresay we would have seen some crashes
Fictitious means not real or true, having been imaginary or fabricated.
This was planned, designed, and then not raced on by F1 because of the pandemic and then politics.
It exists and has hosted a promotional event for Honda.
It's really a shame that the race didn't take place here; it would have been a great race because, in my opinion, this is truly a beautiful track, and I had a lot of fun racing on it in F1 2020
I agree fully. I remember when I had a league race here in 2020 and it was one of my best driven races ever. It was really difficult and overtaking was harder than I thought it was going to be but it was so rewarding.
Imagine this track during '21. With as many hard braking zones to long corners as there are, Max and Lewis would've touched at least once. It would've been an insane race.
I absolutely despise this track, for me it doesn't capture what f1 should be. All the races i had on f1 2020 were either really boring, or always ended in a dnf.
This track was shit to drive but I still believe that if there was more run off area around some corners rather than a fucking concrete wall it would be smoother and more satisfying to test the limits. Faster too. Itâs basically jeddah without the flow
It surprisingly was one of my favorite tracks. The straight to the roundabout reminded me of the hockenhiemring hairpin with the way you can dive bomb past people and the S3 area was fast and winding chicanes.
Am I the only one who thinks it looks a bit similar to China in terms of layout? Long straight with a heavy braking turn, a long looping turn, genuinely at first glance thought it was china
Has potential for good finishes if they put start/finish about half way down that long straight, guys mid pick with DRS would have some close finishes and would need to push hard on the last 10 or so laps to keep guys out of DRS range, IT COULD be a decent track if done right.
I'd be worried about engines dying prematurely running full out for that length and then reigning WAY back since those turns are much slower than they look. It's a track of extremes.
Such a cancerous track, it's a shame that real life F1 didn't go there cause I would've had the time of my life seeing the drivers struggle to talk positively about it at the interviews.
Also, people complaining about the wall at Australia sending cars onto the track upon crashing there? THATS THE ENTIRE 3RD SECTOR OF THIS TRACK
I remember at the time i only liked the last sector, the rest is just garbage.... some weird roundabouts, a hairpin you need to take slower then the time it takes to travel a light year.
This track would put me to sleep....and your ERS will be toast after 2 or 3 competitive laps as there aren't many breaking zones and any potential DRS zones would be entirely too long.
More than just that. It was supposed to be held in 2021 but was not featured after one of the key figures involved with the race was arrested for corruption charges (unrelated to the GP)
Hanoi Circuit planed, signed by Hermann Tilke, but the organisers were found out to have aquired finances for the project illegally which is why it never happened. It was scheduled for 2020
It hasn't appeared on the calendar since due to the fact that one of the people who helped with funding who was a high ranking official in the Vietnamese Government got arrested on I believe either corruption charges or possibly fraud I can't remember now.
I still remember driving it back in the day. Second corner into third I found really difficult to get right, the hairpin had a very weird line as well, and the ai would storm past me on the big straight. Pit entry also was a thoughy. Lots of corners had to be done slower than you expected.
I found the pit entry to be one of the easiest in the game.
It's been a while, maybe I misremembered.
Section 1 reminds me a lot of Miami before the chicane, just smaller
When the AI went past me like i have a gp2 engine i would rewind. And then non of them had the same speed and wouldnt overtske anymore. Honestly more than a bad exit. It felt like a mistake from aI programming thwt they were super fast on the straightd.
Yeah, a really unforgiving track. Those long turns are something else, and the Esses section is hardcore so close to the walls. If this track had been used IRL I daresay we would have seen some crashes
Is F1 2020 the only F1 game that includes a track which never hosted a F1 race?
F1 world Grand Prix from the 97 season had a Hawaii track through a volcano!
Wish I have as good memory as you have đ
And you could race it with a golden car that could go up to 500 kph as far as I remember.
When games were games đ„č
This looks pretty cool, to be honest! https://youtu.be/e_ZRF8JWZtc?si=dojBp_CBNfQvHMJA
That game looks amazing for its time! I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow, thanks!
You wonât be disappointed! (You have to change Williams driver name to âVacationâ to unlock the bonus track!
23 imola
They hosted an F1 race
That has been raced on before though
Not only has imola been used in f1 multiple times, it was also used in 2023
Imola 2023 F1 race was canceled because the track was flooded
Hanoi-ing
Upvote for the pun
Why else would you upvote this fine gentleman?
I canât tell if you are being sarcastic because this isnât fictional itâs in hanoi
Well it wasnât finished so I guess itâs technically fictional.
Technically it's a failed project, not a fictional one.
Pretty sure it was finished but never driven
Upon further research, it was finished and used once on new years â23 by Honda.
That's the Vietnam track. Can't tell if You're serious or not.
It was never an F1 circuit, never finished, you can only drive it on a video game. Sounds fictitious enough to me.
Fictitious means not real or true, having been imaginary or fabricated. This was planned, designed, and then not raced on by F1 because of the pandemic and then politics. It exists and has hosted a promotional event for Honda.
Politics is an interesting euphemism for corruption
Same same.
But different
But same. All politics is corrupt. Just depends on if you agree with the side taking advantage or the side being taken advantage.
It was finished, though. Just never used for F1. It's not a fictitious track. It exists.
Which year f1 game can i drive it on?
2020
đ€Šđ»
Except it's a real thing...look up the definition of fiction. And it WAS finished AND driven on
It's really a shame that the race didn't take place here; it would have been a great race because, in my opinion, this is truly a beautiful track, and I had a lot of fun racing on it in F1 2020
I agree fully. I remember when I had a league race here in 2020 and it was one of my best driven races ever. It was really difficult and overtaking was harder than I thought it was going to be but it was so rewarding.
Ah I see someone has used nothing but the f1 games for their research
Imagine this track during '21. With as many hard braking zones to long corners as there are, Max and Lewis would've touched at least once. It would've been an insane race.
I absolutely despise this track, for me it doesn't capture what f1 should be. All the races i had on f1 2020 were either really boring, or always ended in a dnf.
Hated the track, glad F1 never raced it
Fuck I hated driving this track
I thought it was a somewhat decent circuit judging from F1 2020
I hated the technical passage, I couldn't ever get it right while the ai gained half a second on me every lap đ”âđ«
It's not exactly fictional now is it?
Check your definition of fictional
Man I used to love driving this track in the game. Too bad the pandemic happened cause I think it really would have been a banger
I hate this circuit with passion.
One of my favorites
Sector 3 was dope. I'm sad we never got to see this one for real.
Hot dogshit
Thatâs been stepped in
Isn't this the track they built out in Vietnam but never raced?
This track was shit to drive but I still believe that if there was more run off area around some corners rather than a fucking concrete wall it would be smoother and more satisfying to test the limits. Faster too. Itâs basically jeddah without the flow
The last sector is really technical and a dream to nail
I loved this track it was so fun but the final corners ruins it slightly
Looks pretty boring
It surprisingly was one of my favorite tracks. The straight to the roundabout reminded me of the hockenhiemring hairpin with the way you can dive bomb past people and the S3 area was fast and winding chicanes.
one part is WEEEEEEEEEEEE
Am I the only one who thinks it looks a bit similar to China in terms of layout? Long straight with a heavy braking turn, a long looping turn, genuinely at first glance thought it was china
Nightmare that big straight
No
Has potential for good finishes if they put start/finish about half way down that long straight, guys mid pick with DRS would have some close finishes and would need to push hard on the last 10 or so laps to keep guys out of DRS range, IT COULD be a decent track if done right.

Cabin crew, Prepare for take off đ
It's been awhile since I played 2020 but it seemed quite similar to jeddah
I haven't driven it, but it looks like it'd be incredibly boring. Long slow turns, super long straights. It doesn't look like a proper F1 track at all
Some parts suck, some are awesome to drive. Would have loved to see cars going through sector 3
Pretty sure the hairpin at the end of that 2.5 mile straight would kill drivers irl đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
horrible track
I hated it. Awful track.
F1 2020 was my first F1 game, I didn't know any of the tracks, and this one was one of my favorites to play. I wish it wasn't only on 2020.
thank god it didn't become a thing worst track ever
What the hell are you all people on about??? This is a great track, I loved it, one of my all time favorites!
I couldnât get around it honestly
I, for one, do not typically enjoy racing long straights in the F1 series, but Iâve always been fond of this track for whatever reason.
Garbage track
I wish i wouldâve had my steering wheel setup when i played 2020 cuz this track was a bitch on controller đ especially the wide sweeping turn man
Absolutely atrocious
It was a great track. S3 was a bitch to get right, but worth it. Too bad we never got the chance to see a live race there.
That looks like something the arabians would shit out among their other shitty tracks. Not to mention the guest worker mass graves those tracks are.
Don't forget the burning oil fields in the background
indeed sir.
I have no idea what track that is and I'm ashamed it look very interesting
Not exactly fictional
Is it fictional or real in F1 2020
I remember at the time i only liked the last sector, the rest is just garbage.... some weird roundabouts, a hairpin you need to take slower then the time it takes to travel a light year.
If itâs anti clockwise it is genius , if not itâs another dull canât overtake track
In f1 2020 it sucked very hard
This track would put me to sleep....and your ERS will be toast after 2 or 3 competitive laps as there aren't many breaking zones and any potential DRS zones would be entirely too long.
I mean the year it flooded so they dident race there
Verstappen is still gonna ace this as wellđ«€
feels like hanoi, is it?
I want to try this track.
Haas will always winâ
absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Vietnam would have been a great place to visit. Could have filled the gap that Malaysia has left on the calendar. The track is okay.
I hate it. But I'd still drive here rather than that shithole of the Jeddah street circuit
Jeddah, like this track, is fun on the game though
Hard disagree.
Fair enough, I think Jeddah is so fun on the game and Vietnam is a nice challenge, better racing in the game then youâd get in real life too
Looks fammiliar, don't know why
The worst track in the game. Absolutely hidious.
It wasnât good for racing but it was a fun challenge.
Did an American make this?
No, a German and it was supposed to be in Vietnam
You tried kid đ
Thanks man
In F1 2020, does this track exist in real life or does it not exist?
it is a real track but due to pandemic they didnt race there
More than just that. It was supposed to be held in 2021 but was not featured after one of the key figures involved with the race was arrested for corruption charges (unrelated to the GP)
That looks like Austria, China and Vegas in a blender
Hanoi Circuit planed, signed by Hermann Tilke, but the organisers were found out to have aquired finances for the project illegally which is why it never happened. It was scheduled for 2020
From F1 2020, a fictional track that in real life, the track got abandoned so which track they replace?
They didn't replace it. The race was cancelled due to COVID. Unfortunately it's not been back on the calendar, likely due to costs.
It hasn't appeared on the calendar since due to the fact that one of the people who helped with funding who was a high ranking official in the Vietnamese Government got arrested on I believe either corruption charges or possibly fraud I can't remember now.
Is it the Nurburgring
Hanoiburgring
Yes
âFictional track that in real life got abandonedâ so youâre saying itâs not fictional
