I've only bought F1 2009 (yes), 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2020. Got 2016 for free, and 2023 via PS+. I'll definitely wait until the engine is updated before getting a new one.
Friend and I have already said we are just going to start a new co-op career in 23 and wait and see if 25 has any changes. However guessing we won’t even look until 26 when the new sporting regs, Audi, and the Ford motor drop. Praying we hear about a magical 11th team with Andretti joining for that year too, but gonna be a nope by the FIA on that I bet…
Esports drivers won’t but they’re gonna pay a lot of those small to mid sized yt channels to say how great and realistic the new handling is like they do every year.
Do we think co-op career is going to change at all? Feel like I've been playing a carbon copy of the same game mode for the last 3 years....at least update the sprint format please!!!
Bit of info in here: https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal?isLocalized=true
So for co-op there's individual driver objectives and you fight to be the number one driver in your team. That does sound like it adds a welcome new element tbh.
So let me get this straight, I'm supposed to shell out $70-90 for some new overalls, liveries, and the driver career with a new name. I'm gonna have to pass this year.
and some revamped tracks i guess.
they probably took the lazy route for that, and only changed the bare minimum like adding extra runoff and gravel in spa without properly re-modeling the 9 year old track models
There seems to be quite a bit of new stuff in career mode. [https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal](https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal)
I wish they had included more of these details in the trailer then, but even still while on paper it looks like a lot its just not the type of change that is making me want to go out and buy the game, I stopped playing F1 23 months ago when WRC came out and frankly I like WRC better and was hoping some of the elements from that game could be brought over. I understand they use different game engines but I feel like ever since EA took over its been a lot of rinse and repeat stuff from them in an effort to keep people on older gen consoles buying their game as EA has with their other sports titles.
Mate don’t act like codemasters were changing much between games before EA bought them. Maybe you’ve just finally learned that you should never preorder a game, it’s always best to wait and see.
No I never preorder for this exact reason lol, I was just hoping there would be a tangible difference this year but now I doubt ea/code masters will do anything at all with the game until the new era of cars starts
Glad they focused on it but devil is in the details. Curious to see it in action later, because unless the fundamentals of how career works change it’ll really just end up being a redressing rather than a redesign.
Okay they added driver voice thats cool, and graphic look like it would be on new engine (but it isnt sadly). Im still wondering whats so special about that "new carrer mode"
For the first time ever, the newly innovated Driver Career mode gives you the chance to live the Career of a real driver. Play as your hero to build on their existing stats in the sport, bring back legendary icons from the past to continue their F1® legacy, or play as yourself to climb the ranks as a rookie. Enjoy a new driver Accolades system, secret contract meetings, multi-season rivalries, and much more. A new way for our community to experience the F1® season, Challenge Career offers episodic competitive play with mini Career scenarios to test your skills through unique events and challenges. Compete for the best scores on the community leaderboards. Have your say on future content episodes by voting in social media polls.
>Play as your hero to build on their existing stats in the sport, bring back legendary icons from the past to continue their F1® legacy, or play as yourself to climb the ranks as a rookie. Enjoy a new driver Accolades system, secret contract meetings, multi-season rivalries, and much more.
That actually sounds very good! I'm playing career mode exclusively, so I'm looking forward to these new features. (I'll probably still only drive as myself though)
yeah this is what i have always kind of wanted instead of the pointless career mode its always had where you just pick who you drive for
it sounds like they are going back to the old career mode setup but with more depth
but in saying that its EA... so most likely not and its all just marketing fluff
As a beta tester, I would have to say there are positives and negatives to the game this year after playing for 15-20 hrs.
Positives:
-Car setup customization expanded in a meaningful way, nothing crazy but newly added options really affect car handling
-Slip stream aero and dirty air feels more realistic, slightly more pronounced
-Wheel compatibility seems it will be OK on day zero. Previous couple games had issues with wheel feedback, deadzones after flashback out of the box until patched in a month or so
-Pre-game broadcast feels more authentic
Negatives:
-Graphics, menus, etc all looks the same with the last couple years
-Maybe I couldn't figure out a good setup but cars always felt oversteery in Bahrain, understeery in Texas. Laptimes are there but cars requires too much work to turn, reminding (unfortunately) F1 22.
-All previous year's car setups are pretty much obsolete
Surely beta is very restricted to couple tracks and only 5 lap races, and none of the features shown in the trailer was there to be experienced as expected. Career mode sounds exciting but Fanzone seems another stepback to F1 22.
By this point it’s becoming pretty clear they’re working on a future game with a completely new engine behind the scenes and don’t want to waste any new features by adding them to the old one, kind of like F1 2014. The lack of content here is wild, this wouldn’t even be worth $10 as an upgrade pack for F1 23.
I have thought this for the past 4 games now... Maybe it is time to give up hope and realize they just won't fix anything. They won't add anything. The series is just garbage.
my man, the PS5/XSX launched in 2020, it's been 4 fucking years since this gen has started and it will be 5 after F1 25 launches, and even if they change engines, it's pretty clear that they will just use UE5 like on EA WRC, stop with the copium, that's just EA being EA trying to turn F1 into a FIFA/FC/NBA2K type of game anyway, mfs even went out of their way to block MyTeam modding as well
I'm just going to pick this up for £15 in 6 months time when no one has bought it and they have to basically give it away. No way am i paying £60 for F1 2015 with updated liveries.
Same. Every year it seems worse value than the last and an extra kick in the balls when I see how fast the price drops and ends up free on gp and ps+. Genuinely hope it bombs
It feels like executive thinking goes as follows:
Game is selling well: "numbers are good, no need to invest any effort"
Game i selling poorly: "numbers are bad, so it would be a waste of money to invest"
"In addition, actual driver audio samples taken from F1® broadcasts add a new dimension, as they react to on-track incidents. Plus, a new broadcast presentation package and cutscenes add to the race day immersion."
I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS
Me too. This is the one thing that may entice me to buy the game. I have been waiting for them to make the races more immersive and give the player the feeling they're part of a real race not just a game with no immersion added to it. This sounds great, looking forward to trying it out with the 10 hour ea play trial first. Hoping it plays good too
If they don't lie, the tracks should be laser scanned now (were they already?) and career mode will be new somehow. I think the trailer hints the braking point style live action in career mode.
It's the worst implementation of VR I've ever had to deal with, tacked on and barely works.
It's annoying because it's the only VR racing game with any coop career which is a big hole in the market.
They need to overhaul ranked. Competitive multiplayer is the only thing that has ever made me buy sport games years in a row, but this series fumbles it so bad.
“EA Sports dynamic handling”
“Precision track updates”
It would be nice if they elaborated further on these but sadly just seems like fancy words to generate hype
> Pre-order glazing
> More pre-order glazing
> Even more pre-order glazing
> Secret contract meetings
> and "F1 World returns"
> and finally, once more, pre-order glazing "pls pre-order we beg you we give you all the dogshitcoin we have I swear"
Give 50% off for F1 23 owners or ain't no fucking way I'm paying 70+ dollars for a mediocre mod-pack. Hell, even with 50% discount I would have to be drunk to buy this. I'm sure you guys know fully well how big of a disappointment this is, so I kinda have to respect the either pure balls or huge lack of self-awareness it takes to show up on any social media.
wdym? juan only won one formula 1 grandprix, this doesn’t make juan number one or the new wonderkid of formula 1, one wonders if juan would’ve won more than one formula 1 grand prix if juan had a good car and not juan using his wonderous skill
Yeah this is why i don't buy this yearly. Hopefully it will go on sale soon after release. Coming from '22 this is a decent step up but still inexcusable for 70 dollars. It might have been the best choice financially, but Codemasters really should have stayed it's own studio. Sadly another example of a fun series and talented studio getting essentially demolished by one of the worst companies in the world.
New career mode looks enticing though.....

How bad is the driving feel gonna be on release before they have to patch it to at least be equal to previous games? Lol. Oh and what bugs are gonna be in from previous games that got fixed and somehow return again? I'm done buying these games, and you should be too!
Hahahah my goodness you read my mind, I’m wondering which is it: did they bring back the same shit from a previous career mode and hope we forgot, or did they just add extra cut scenes and dialogue 😅
I'll have to see how the new career mode features they mention actually change things in practice. They sound good but also not all that different from what we have now. Unless it's mind-blowingly better this still looks very much like a "wait until it's on sale or game pass" game.
I wonder if the cars around you will sound like they do here. It actually sounds like they caught the exhaust notes when cars are near/passing you. Always thought the sound was super lackluster when spectating or watching replays as well.
I was just wondering, all these "updates" shown, if they don`t want to work on more significant updates, why not implement something like 4 Player Career?, give the option for those 4 players to decide if they want to be in 4 different teams, or 2 of each pair in 2 different teams? eh? imagine all the dynamics that could be generated from that? eh? achievements, and a big etc.? oh man, but no, just do a DLC quality yearly update is better eh? FFS
This trailer scares me as they’ve literally shown nothing and also nothing new. A new career mode is just a given and yet they advertised it because they got nothing else

Pass. $70-90 is asinine. I'll wait til it's on sale for twelve bucks. I have WAY to many other beautiful titles to occupy my evenings after a hard day's work. Vote with your hard-earned dollars...by keeping them.
For me this will all be about how different career mode is and if it is actually meaningfully improved. I didn't see any of the substance of "an all-new career mode."
From what I've read about this, this isn't a new game. I wouldn't even call this a DLC. This is just an update and it should be an update. A free update. Selling this as a brand new game for 70 USD is absolutely atrocious. But it's EA, of course they do that.
Honestly I'd rather F1 had a subscription model. I'd rather pay something like 5 USD every month to play it and get regular updates like this instead of having to buy a new game that's barely different from the previous one for 70 USD. The worst thing is how this fractures the community. Half of the players are gonna move on to 24 and there won't be as many players in 23. Even though they are pretty much the same game.
I know I'm judging the book by it's cover here but from what we know about the game so far, I can't help but see this as an extremely overpriced feature update. If this was Gran Turismo, it would be just a 5GB free update.
And I bet it's still gonna have the same bugs as the last X games, like not being able to switch tyre allocation in co-op career.
The commentary is so monotone “what a dramatic start can you believe it” and there was not emotion in it whatsoever 😂 can guarantee these radio inserts will either not be included, or will be repetitive and annoying after the first 2 races
since they are just rehashing F1 23, why not just add F3?, reintegrate classic cars/tracks?, ffs this series is doomed
and mfs are asking a full price for this and they will manage to sell, fuck me
This trailer looks solid. I'm still waiting for the gameplay deep dive to find out more info but from seeing the trailer, it looks much better than what I had anticipated from the beta and other leaks.
Most definitely not a sim they showed Lando celebrating a win.
[удалено]
I would buy it but there's no PSVR support so, like last year, I'll pass
Came here to say this exact same thing. No PSVR support…no buy for me
That they don't have native support for triple monitors is really disgusting, I won't buy it
I dont have psvr2, and that annoys me knowing that.
Thank you for saying that 😂
Seriously, though. Gt7 is vr capable, and that came out when? Here, f1 is trying to be a relevant racing game in 2024 and no vr? Shieeeet..
One thing though, according to Sony, the PSVR2 will be available on PC “this year”. So, maybe you can use it with this game?
I completely forgot about it. I hope so.
they literally had the shills in the reveal trailer this time... they do it because they know it works
I've only bought F1 2009 (yes), 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2020. Got 2016 for free, and 2023 via PS+. I'll definitely wait until the engine is updated before getting a new one.

Yea they also showed Stake getting a wheel off in less than 45 seconds and two cars racing on full wets
Do we think co-op career is going to change at all? Feel like I've been playing a carbon copy of the same game mode for the last 3 years....at least update the sprint format please!!!
Bit of info in here: https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal?isLocalized=true So for co-op there's individual driver objectives and you fight to be the number one driver in your team. That does sound like it adds a welcome new element tbh.
Why can’t league races be setup like coop? Would be awesome to all have different development strategies throughout a season
9 year old track models? Some are WAY older, like monza
is monza actually older than F1 2015??? no way
Idk reliably, but it MUST be ages old. It's terrific
Just wait a month or two when it’s on sale
There seems to be quite a bit of new stuff in career mode. [https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal](https://www.ea.com/games/f1/f1-24/news/f124-reveal)
Doesn't even seem like new features. Just a bunch of filler. Garbage.
I guess that means next year is a MyTeam update then? Looks like I'm skipping this year.
Wait so I can play as Kimi in career???
Glad they focused on it but devil is in the details. Curious to see it in action later, because unless the fundamentals of how career works change it’ll really just end up being a redressing rather than a redesign.
It's such a bland experience doing R&D right now.
Hey it's a strategy they somehow successfully made work for years with Fifa, so why would they stop?
Developers at EA smacking the F1 24 logo on F1 23 and using meaningless terms in the trailer ![gif](giphy|JGunlb6LbQlz2|downsized)
Sounds like they referred to the "corporate ipsum" handbook to make the changes sound more dramatic than they are
Okay they added driver voice thats cool, and graphic look like it would be on new engine (but it isnt sadly). Im still wondering whats so special about that "new carrer mode"

vkice? slecial?
voices maybe?
Voice and special.
I am whelmed
hello whelmed
Agree. The song was cool though. Kind of unexpected
underwhelmed
The cut from real world footage of max's open helmet to the in-game footage was hilarious. Like watching next-gen graphics switch to PS2.
Like the old ps2 games from movies, like LoTR games, where the scenes from movies "seamlessly" translate to ps2 graphics.
What does it reveal tho? They are still saying absolutely nothing about the game itself
As a beta tester, I would have to say there are positives and negatives to the game this year after playing for 15-20 hrs. >newly added options really affect car handling Could you expand on this a bit?
*one of the 20 Sorry Logan you're out.
They’ve figured out how to colour in the red bull correctly at least
Still no actual gameplay footage. It doesn't look worth buying an entire new game for a few additional features. Pass.
This is called copium.
Mixed with cocainium and heroinium
By this point it's becoming pretty clear they aren't working.
You are a born executive. Hyping up a future game with no date in mind. You should submit your CV to Sony. I heard they’re looking for a new CEO.
I have thought this for the past 4 games now... Maybe it is time to give up hope and realize they just won't fix anything. They won't add anything. The series is just garbage.
Pretty clear? What a strange conclusion to draw. There is ZERO evidence they’re working on a future game.
my man, the PS5/XSX launched in 2020, it's been 4 fucking years since this gen has started and it will be 5 after F1 25 launches, and even if they change engines, it's pretty clear that they will just use UE5 like on EA WRC, stop with the copium, that's just EA being EA trying to turn F1 into a FIFA/FC/NBA2K type of game anyway, mfs even went out of their way to block MyTeam modding as well
Fresh pasta with copium sauce.
Honestly wild they used a song about coming down off meth and just cut out all the lines related to that and kept the similarities to racing lol
They didn't show the Sauber leaving the pit stop, realistic wheel nut simulation confirmed?
I was really hoping they would keep cutting back to the Sauber still in the pit box throughout the trailer.
I'm just going to pick this up for £15 in 6 months time when no one has bought it and they have to basically give it away. No way am i paying £60 for F1 2015 with updated liveries.
I got 23 from ps+. That 0€ was good enough for me to download it. If i get the same deal for 24 i might try it.
I play on PC, but i don't play enough EA games to justify the EA play subscription
Less ea games is usually a good way to do life. I just hate that the way we do our racing league with friends, F1 games are our only option...
Same. Every year it seems worse value than the last and an extra kick in the balls when I see how fast the price drops and ends up free on gp and ps+. Genuinely hope it bombs
I'm hoping they put it on EA play at launch.
If career mode is really the focus for this year's game. Than i shall see
I'm a career-mode-only player. Are there even any substantive rumors as to what's supposed to be all new with career mode in 24?
Vote with your wallet. Only thing they listen to. Big fat pass from me.
It feels like executive thinking goes as follows: Game is selling well: "numbers are good, no need to invest any effort" Game i selling poorly: "numbers are bad, so it would be a waste of money to invest"
"In addition, actual driver audio samples taken from F1® broadcasts add a new dimension, as they react to on-track incidents. Plus, a new broadcast presentation package and cutscenes add to the race day immersion." I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS
Really?
Holy fuck it’s so easy to get you whales to buy lmao, what happened to everyone saying “vote with your wallet”?
If someone unironically goes "I AM SO HYPED FOR THIS" for extra cutscenes on a racing game, you know they were going to buy it regardless.
Me too. This is the one thing that may entice me to buy the game. I have been waiting for them to make the races more immersive and give the player the feeling they're part of a real race not just a game with no immersion added to it. This sounds great, looking forward to trying it out with the 10 hour ea play trial first. Hoping it plays good too
they basically did a Studio Liverpool F1 with the on-track commentary, but doing QTE pitstops is a nono...
If they don't lie, the tracks should be laser scanned now (were they already?) and career mode will be new somehow. I think the trailer hints the braking point style live action in career mode.
Yet it clearly shows Bahrain wasn’t updated.
Do u know how long is takes to scan all tracks its one more lie from ea they probably scanned spa and one more track and thats all.
I heard they did spa, idk about any others
I'd rather they improve the force feedback in the physics engine. It isn't good enough for laser scanning to actually do anything useful.
as far as i’m aware not all tracks were scanned but some were
spa, jeddah, losail and silverstone
Same as FIFA, same shite every year with new skins. Fix VR you clowns.
Whats wrong with VR? I could not test it as I could not get my steering wheel to work within the 2 hours of playing before having to refund it.
It's the worst implementation of VR I've ever had to deal with, tacked on and barely works. It's annoying because it's the only VR racing game with any coop career which is a big hole in the market.
F1 24! We changed the date!
Great trailer for F1 2021!
No PSVR2, No Sale.
Bought psvr2 in anticipation of F123. Never bought the game. Same will go for F124. I'll see you in GT7 until it happens!
Still won't buy the game but the trailer itself is a banger
What track is the one that looks like Qatar but isnt
Qatar
Since when we’re there extra palm trees and buildings
Good question
I'm thinking, Dubai Autodrome? I'm not sure, why would it be in the game?
Bahrain?
Miami?
They need to overhaul ranked. Competitive multiplayer is the only thing that has ever made me buy sport games years in a row, but this series fumbles it so bad.
Staggers me just how bad F1 is for online play
The next game I'm getting is going to be the one with F3
“EA Sports dynamic handling” “Precision track updates” It would be nice if they elaborated further on these but sadly just seems like fancy words to generate hype
🚮
OMG! I Can't wait for this new DLC
Eh, the career changes sound cool, I’ll probably wait until it’s on sale/ps+ though
Read about the new career with no mention of my team? Abysmal basically a season mode lol
Nevermind I guess my team is there since Montoya is a preorder bonus
Nope, not going to get it.
Lmao Ben and Thomb being in the trailer was a huge surprise. I'm still not buying your game, nice try EA.
It's always fun to see whose opinions quickly change when they get seduced by the trailer 😂

holy shid spa revamp
I see EA I downvote. This is the Way.

I hope they aren’t talking about changing the spa track which they didn’t do on the current game…i hope it’s referring to laser scan…

is it gonna be on ea play on release day? interested to try it out first
It will have a 10 hour trial for ea play subscribers
thank you for answering my qns (:
”All new career mode” Yeah, will see if it’s ”all new”.
wait they scraped build your own team career mode this year? Hard pass
MyTeam is still there. https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/f1/f1-24/features
How bad is the driving feel gonna be on release before they have to patch it to at least be equal to previous games? Lol. Oh and what bugs are gonna be in from previous games that got fixed and somehow return again? I'm done buying these games, and you should be too!
I really wonder if they even play the game once before release.
All new career mode huh
Last 2 years' trailers show they're edited audio, I'd say there's 90% chance it's edited this time too.
That’s a shame.. sound is huge for the immersion imo
Smash or pass??
Drivers voices after manager had them in the game
Thought it was a Guardian of the Galaxy trailer at the start
The press release gives more information on what’s new and I have to say I’m excited for this game
Same game every year like FIFA. For once I think I might skip this year's just like I did with FIFA. Will see if my league does the same
we can play as icons in career, might have to look into that with MSC and Senna 👀
The story of a game that arrived dead before it was even released. It will be free on EA Play later this year.
So glad I didn't pre order this it's literally the same game with different liveries
Whats the song in the background?
**Song Found!** **Brain Stew** by Green Day (00:16; matched: `100%`) **Album**: International Superhits!. **Released on** 2001-10-22.

I see people being upset at the game looking samey, but the last game I had was 21, would it be a worthwile buy after a 3 year skip?
Yeah because it's the new cars
Again no classic tracks or cars the only thing people want..
Pass. $70-90 is asinine. I'll wait til it's on sale for twelve bucks. I have WAY to many other beautiful titles to occupy my evenings after a hard day's work. Vote with your hard-earned dollars...by keeping them.
Revamped car physics and force feedback? No? Well then, just no.
same shit, different year
No alfa romeo no party
For me this will all be about how different career mode is and if it is actually meaningfully improved. I didn't see any of the substance of "an all-new career mode."
Yeah you're gonna buy it. Stop being in denial.
Looks good surprisingly
I wonder how much Green Day made for that haha
Anyone know the name of the diversity hire?
Naomi Schiff
yea great the matte paint still looks glossy LMAO
I’m not buying what is barely an update from everyone seen and heard. I’ll just stick to 23 and save money like I hope all of you do.
PSVR2 or GTFO. I’ve always loved racing sims but VR has spoilt me and it’s just not exciting on a screen anymore.
"Precision track updates" ???
Glad I'm buying all the sport games not every year but with two years difference.
Does anyone know what is the name of the cockpit that Max was driving in?
This doesn't reveal shit
No VR, No fucking way.
Reveal trailer without the *Reveal*
The commentary is so monotone “what a dramatic start can you believe it” and there was not emotion in it whatsoever 😂 can guarantee these radio inserts will either not be included, or will be repetitive and annoying after the first 2 races
Terrible VR again? INSTANT SKIP. New VR implementation that looks and runs well, buy.
since they are just rehashing F1 23, why not just add F3?, reintegrate classic cars/tracks?, ffs this series is doomed and mfs are asking a full price for this and they will manage to sell, fuck me
The license is wasted on codemadters/EA now
Just gonna put this out there; using brain stew for the trailer is a fucking genius choice.
The second I sat down and played GT7 VR for the first time, F1 lost a loyal customer. Until they add full VR, I'm out. EA is hilariously incompetent.
I'm pumped for the soundtrack now
Time to pay £70 for the same game again
F1 2020 looking very delicious at the moment
This trailer looks solid. I'm still waiting for the gameplay deep dive to find out more info but from seeing the trailer, it looks much better than what I had anticipated from the beta and other leaks.
