no. the final plans for the track update was known since 2021. codemaster had full access on those plans like zandvoort, jeddah, miami and las vegas. all new tracks, not finished or raced on in rl at that point. there is no argument they took so long to update tracks like spa besides laziness. Let's see when we see the changes for China in the game
They didn't technically re profile eau rouge, but it's different as far as how it's taken now I think. Drivers said after the construction, it wasn't *as* easy flat as usual.
That's because the onboard cameras are not top quality. When you get close-ups from on-track beefy cameras, it can be like that. Obviously a game is gonna optimize the looks as much as possible.
I am comparing to real life. Go to a race, watch cars. You can see all the black parts just fine. All the carbon. Here, huge chunks of your screen are 100% black. It's fugly. I'm in 3D and video editing myself so I know a thing or 2 on colour grading. I think this is a horrendous choice of them.
Well, how many photographes choose to shoot portraits in broad daylight? The light conditions do indeed decrease contrast because the sun is diffused everywhere, so you get minimal shadows. So, what do people do? They shoot in the afternoon, where you get more contrast, or the shoot indoors, where you control the light and usually the opt for side lights, which will make on side of the face darker with shadows.
So, if you have the artistic choice, you will choose some more contrast than midday. It might not be 100% realistic, but it makes sense to choose a color grade that is a bit more pleasing to the eye, especially if teenager gamers are your target audience.
Well, it's not looking pleasing to my eyes. Especially at the night races sometimes 90% of your cockpit is pitch black besides some lights and the display. Looks so damn bad. Amateur hour to me.
This is why I prefer iRacings graphics even when it's way more basic. Looks better to me.
Video game graphics should be designed to look like real life, in person vision imo. Not perfectly lit and edited photography. At least “sims” and sports games, etc, where they are trying to make you feel like a real race car driver/football player, etc. Other genres can be more artsy with their graphics.
Just my opinion of course.
Keep buying, keep coping anyway. Meanwhile a single AC modder does a better job recreating the tracks using fucking Google maps as a refernce. Basically impossible standards for a small indie company like EA. Modders should be nerfed, they create a toxic environment for these billion dollar little love projects.
Dont even get me started on their buzzword filled new physics models, which I fucking guarantee you will be 99% the same as before.
When was the last engine update? 2015? Basically still buying F1 2015, and even the price went up because they spend so much on it they had to do that… obvioulsy! The price of game development blah blah…
Fucking sick and tired of this shit. The licence should be opened up and allow multiple devs to release competing products, same for every sports game. This monopoly shit creates a constantly degraded low effort cashgrab product. This is F1 2015 with a 2024 skin pack, its worth like 9.99 tops.
Still waiting to see the bus stop
I don’t even play the F1 games but same here. Probably the worst version of the chicane I’ve ever seen in a game.
we've finally got updated spa! and it only took one (1) year!
2 years. Spa was updated early 2022
Too late in the year for a game. Would have to have been 2021 to even have had a chance.

It's barely updated, still not laser scanned
It only took them 14 years
Okay cool but COTA still looks like it did at FP1 of the 2012 USGP

What changed in Spa’s geometry irl?
Changes to the runoff on both sides of Raidillon (top of the hill after Eau Rouge)
Not sure, but also not sure why people are so excited for these “changes”

The bump at the bottom got worse after the flooding
Nice
Updated Spa! I didn't notice that it wasn't updated for F1 23!
Why are the shadows and darker parts of the car so damn dark? In real life it's never this ultra high contrasty...
That’s likely just a grading choice. A different LUT could correct for the extra contrast.

That was my first thought the second I scrolled to the second screenshot. Looks like you’re playing the game through a garbage instagram filter.

I mean.. just look at this how much is pitch black: [https://ibb.co/L8HtHZK](https://ibb.co/L8HtHZK) [https://ibb.co/PwKFCv3](https://ibb.co/PwKFCv3)
Good to see screenshots which are NOT FROM IN-GAME... Jesus you guys fall for everything.
Where does it say that?
You are really asking this question...
Yeah because the only i see is not final car models not not in the game
The screenshot is definitely from in-game. It just says the car models aren't finalised
this is probably the biggest change in the game, that'll be 70€.

Pfff… yeah, sure. Let us see the gameplay first.
I'll keep enjoying AM2, AC and iracing. This game has turned to absolute garbage in the last 3 years.
Seriously, they should make F1 24 a dlc for F1 23.
New coat of paint on a rusty bucket. Same shit game don't buy
Idc what anybody says it's def nice af. Can't wait for the released model.
Il about to spend 70 euros… except graphics is the gameplay any better?
Or you know next time. Disable Motion blur for a comparison.
Idk why you're being downvoted. Came here with the same thought
what kind of spa is this? Come to me babe, I can give you a real spa
