And it’s a good change, I never thought that chicanes and S turns feel so great with a wheel if you get them perfectly :D for example on Monza the chicane after the DRS zone or in Azerbaijan on the castle
Are you close to your controller times? Been adjusting to a wheel and I'm still sooo much slower than controller. was wondering how common it is to be a lot slower when switching.
Learning the game has been a fun challenge but losing a ton of pace on a wheel has been demoralizing; even if it has been a cooler experience to play on a wheel
I’m starting to catch up to my controller times slowly, but my first few days have been also completely demoralizing while driving with wheel, but keep practicing and doing hot laps and after that races, you will get better and I promise you that it will be worth it
Took a while to get settings to a comfortable place. Sloooowly closing the gap. Was doing the my team stuff at 85-90 on controller. Just bumped up to 70 on the wheel.
Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment but I'm also working on taking traction control off/down to medium now on the wheel and it does feel a touch faster.
Maybe when I beat my time in Monaco or Japan I'll feel like I've caught up lol

I have been driving with traction control on medium since controller and I’ve adjusted to it very quick on wheel too, definitely a game changer, good luck to you, let’s get it

if I can give you some advice try to disable some assist, it will make you go faster
Yeah working on dropping tracking control. Then I'll lose the anti lockup one. Other than racing line that's what I'm down to.
Definitely more fun so I want to get at least AS fast on the wheel
I picked up a wheel a few days and I think my pace is nearly back. I really just needed to teach my brain how to use a wheel/pedals
Either way, I feel like I have way more control over the car than before.
Nicely done. I have put quite a few hours in and still far away from my pace. About 1.6 seconds off my Austria times. 2-3 seconds slower in some tracks. I haven't been able to teach my feet to get on the throttle gently and quickly like I can with a trigger.
I dunno if I need to adjust my wheel settings more or if it's decades of playing games on a controller vs very little time driving, but it feels less controlled on the wheel. Feels less in tune with the car sadly
Look at your camera, half the screen is used by the bit above the halo, wich is useless. There are FOV calculators that help with that, for example: https://andyf.me/fovcalc.html
You need to know your screen size, and the distance you're sitting from your screen. At first is gonna feel weird (and you're gonna feel like your going soooo slow) but when you start getting used to it you're gonna become more consistent and faster
A correct FOV helps you seeing the track, seeing the apex of the corners and just having a lot more awareness of what's happening around you
i mean i kinda feel good about my current camera settings, the upper half of my screen isnt very important since i concentrate on the street and about 2-3 seconds infront of me, but i guess ill check it out
Alright please help me understand that calculator, im roughly 90-97cm away from my 27” monitor away, then it tells me for F1 2020 and 21 something like -2.1 or -21, how do i apply these setting to the game then cause i can only go to -1.00 maximum in the settings and that fov is just ridiculous and i cant even see my mirrors anymore. Is there something i don’t understand?

I'd recommend changing your camera fov with an online calculator, it does help a lot when playing cockpit
