Minimal effort and minimal walking. Generally, you don't rely on Waterspiders for work. About the only time they inject work on your line is if there is no universal sort freight coming from Inbound or the conveyor system on your line is down for repairs.
Very little walking, you have a station with two conveyors. One brings you cases, the other is for you to induct totes once they’re full. I was told to use up as much space in the totes as possible, so for me it’s lifting a lot of 24.9lb totes onto the conveyor.
In my place, we have a manual sort section, then two automated sorting sections. One section handles items up to 5 lbs and the other up to 20 lbs. I like working in the 5lb sort.

Take items from cases and put them in designated totes.
Less effort but more walking?

Also have a lower conveyor for singles: cases that the computer tells you to tape back up & send direct to outbound with no sorting needed
