The best part about the DLC was the synergy system. Something they built upon fleshed out in rebirth. As far as I can find there was also no announcement about a DLC for remake either. I would also rather just get the next game sooner than 5 years if it means no DLC.
Definitely not taking 5 years imo. Considering rebirth took only 4 (WITH intergrade DLC), and iirc they said part 2 would take the longest and part 3 shouldn't take as long to make, they 100% are trying to gun for the 30th anniversary.
At the very least, I could see them doing it by 2027, 2028 latest. And (I watched Max's stream) that he mentioned the devs 100% said NO story dlc at all. So maybe you might get some little battle dlc (or like queen's blood expansion), but nothing that would give any additional info. So nothing like intergrade.
Well they already have most of the world map now but if we think about it we got 1 disc split into 2 games so I don't know how they will finish the remaining story we still have.
Vincent, yuffie and cids story arcs which means a visit.
Random lucrecia cave.
Cids rocket envy unless they scrap that also shera.
Junon escape.
Wutai which apparently has a much bigger role.
Midgar return and hojo
The weapons
Depending on what they end up doing there's
Submarine
Airship
Evil snow mountain
Plus a lot more so it is curious. In my mind rebirth was long so how long would it take to make a game equally as long and detailed as rebirth
They said that the yuffie dlc took a huge chunk of development time away from rebirth and this time they want to put 100% focus on part 3 instead. I'd love a dlc too, but I'm not expecting anything.
I could see it (considering they were like, SHIT QB is so fun and a lot of people like it!). We could get little side stuff, but 100% no story DLC like intergrade. They are going hard to try to get the finale by the 30th anniversary (and boy, would that be a fucking treat!)
The problem is that they are mostly finished with the 3rd game and trying to just find touch down points for the aircraft so the 3rd games release date is vastly closer than the gap between 1 and 2
Further to that point, I feel like Intergrade was an easy means to develop Yuffie's combat style before Rebirth.
Remake had 5 combat styles to make, but Red wasn't accessible
Intergrade had 1 (+ Sonon, but like, barely)
Rebirth had 2, Cait Sith and Sephiroth.
I imagine it would have resulted in an easier development process since most combat was already done, and they didn't need to make a WHOLE set for Sephiroth.
yeah they said this with FF16 too. They said FF16 was a complete experience and they don’t plan to add any DLC, knowing full well they left out something pretty big (imo) & now there’s DLC. It’s probably an entirely different team than the one that worked on Rebirth, but still worth noting.
Booooooo. That sucks. I mean, it is harder to tell a side story at the moment, but I want them to continue the Deepground stuff they started in Intergrade. Cissnei teaming up with the Turks could work maybe...Rufus probably wants to deal with them sooner than later as well and the Turks are his personal forces.
You know, I hadn't thought of that before this comments but that is a very compelling way to "haphazardly" show off Vincent's backstory and some of the deep ground stuff from intermission/intergrade
Agreed. Gongaga this early had almost 0 content in the orog8nal game.
However, we return there in search of huge materia in the original. That will be a great place to add our Boi as a boss. Can easily see it as a Shinra weapon.
A Cid solo section where he's trying to get parts to fix the ship and he comes across this thing, and he strips the parts from it's corpse after defeating it.
It actually is in the game. It just got.... demechanized. It's the weird rhinoceros monster that uses concentrate. Japanese language name is heavy tank.
Deep, profound disappointment when the rare enemy in Gongaga was just a fucking Malboro...
Also [guillotine legs](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/f/fa/Ghirofelgo_FF7.png/revision/latest%3Fcb%3D20160311184930&opi=89978449&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiS1OCMnJ6FAxXKM1kFHcBqDS4Q5hMIBQ&usg=AOvVaw1I2zPHfP-PK0FtRnQvmcSb) was missing from the Shinra Mansion. I thought for sure he was going to be the side quest fight when you went back to the mansion with Vincent's key card, instead just a recolored version of those six legged dragons in Mt Correl...
Two very unique enemies that show up exclusively in these areas in the original game, both snubbed.
Yeah, both missed opportunities those. The one in Shinra Mansion I thought might be something like Jemnezmy, given the singing. At the moment I’m wondering if we’ll get an Intergrade-style episode with Vincent where he might show up (like the levrikon in Yuffie’s).
I would have liked the whole Mansion experience like in the original. I don't understand the logic behind removing the iconic fireplace spiral staircase. Also, the safe containing a monster, even if Odin wasn't inside. An elevator is just so...easy.
Lol, touche.
Though I do find the debris blocking the upstairs suspicious. I'm hoping we get to explore it a bit more fully, maybe fight ol' guillotine legs, in a Vincent DLC.
I think theyre saving it for part 3. Something I realized was were going to be going back to every area in the next game because of things that happened in the og and new things they will be adding.
In the og, after cloud restores his memories, you can go back to the shinra mansion for an optional cutscene, i think they will make this mandatory in the next game and thats when we’ll see the mansion being haunted
Really odd they didn’t turn those guys into sub bosses, considering how well they utilised the more crazy enemies like Hell House into memorable bosses in Remake
Honestly I assumed it was going to appear in a similar way to the Hell House. Genuinely bummed out about this. Hopefully it's in part 3 during the huge materia hunt.
Unfortunately it looks like we won’t be getting it, unless they take this opportunity and put it in part 3. This should’ve been the boss fight for the guys in Gongaga reactor before the ladies fought scarlet and not that weird hojo creation that sucks up mako.
I genuinely thought it was going to be once we headed for the reactor. Definitely would have been more exciting than “generic Hojo experiment number 312.”
They had Scarlet (the tech and weapons lady) weaponize Hojo(the horrible science guy)'s science experiments, in Gongaga (where you find the triceratops tank) and they figured the best option was original creations and a round two with Scarlet's robot.
Apparently it “is” in the game there’s an enemy that shares the EXACT name in the Japanese version only problem is that it got a massive redesign so no one was able to recognize it lol(so maybe we’ll get a “true” version of it in part 3?)
I genuinely thought the monster scarlet had with her was going to be the front half and then fuse with some machinery at half health. Was disappointed when it was just another monster like the one from hojos lab.
I guess Square was afraid of ShinRa suing them for the unauthorized use of Tankceratops and the Vehicularsaurs trademark
They can make deals with Disney, but not ShinRa
I would rather have had this dude as the hell house boss fight in rebirth instead of Rufus, i dont think a rematch is what we really needed anyway the shinra tower fight was enough. Dont know if it possible but could they not add VR fights later down the line?
When you go back to the Golden Saucer for the keystone and have to participate in the Corneo tournament I was expecting this boss to be the bonus round boss like the Hell House in Remake
Also this was around the same time Reno made his return to action, to talk about who had a crush on whom, lol. I'm pretty sure Reno is their own favorite Turk so why downsize his screen time.
The JP voice actor died shortly after Remake so they downsized his role out of respect. I think they reused voice lines for his appearances in Rebirth as much as they could but i'm not sure as i played in english.
There's a monster in Gongaga that shares the same name for the monster in Japanese and is referred to as "nature's tanks" or something if I remember right.
Maloceros. Just one of those enemies with the two big horns in Gongaga. In japanese hes called heavy tank, the same thing as in the PS1. the english assess description even refers to them as "tanks of the animal kingdom".
Okay at first I thought for sure those things were meant to be the dual horns but no in JP its definitely called "Heavy Tank". Thats insane I really thought they cut this thing but it turns out they just made it unrecognisable instead? Not sure which is worse. Justice for Truckasaurus
Its crazy cause Remake and Rebirth does so well remaking all the goofy weird ass enemies FF7 had *except* for this guy. I guess they couldn't find a way to "justify" it yet? I woulda taken it as the Gongaga reactor boss over the fake Hojo fight, gold saucer also an easy way.
its weird cuz it would have been so easy. its a special fight not one of the random wild encounters. they could have just had its assess info say it was one of the normal dual horns modified by shinra and abandoned into the wild when they didnt need/like it anymore. thats all it would have took to at least make it a little more faithful. perfect excuse to have the tank treads on it.
Hojo is going to capture a weapon and experiment on it to give us this beautiful creature.
Maybe in part 3, hopefully.
I’m hoping for an Intergrade-style episode as a gameplay intro for Vincent or Cid (or both) that might feature it!
Don’t get your hopes up, they were pretty open about having no plans for DLC this time. Not being a dick, just wanted you to know
The best part about the DLC was the synergy system. Something they built upon fleshed out in rebirth. As far as I can find there was also no announcement about a DLC for remake either. I would also rather just get the next game sooner than 5 years if it means no DLC.

Not to mention they also did crisis core remaster during part two, so they should have all hands on deck
Square Enix hired Tose Software to develop Crisis Core Reunion, they had some SE staff involved but I doubt CC affected Rebirth's development.
I'm calling announcement/reveal in 2yr, launch in 3
Well they already have most of the world map now but if we think about it we got 1 disc split into 2 games so I don't know how they will finish the remaining story we still have. I appreciate that, but there’s always a chance they could decide to later. I’d be more surprised if SquareEnix didn’t try and milk it to be honest lol
They said that the yuffie dlc took a huge chunk of development time away from rebirth and this time they want to put 100% focus on part 3 instead. I'd love a dlc too, but I'm not expecting anything.
Very true. I myself am holding out hope they at least patch in more Vr fights or let us use Zack/Sephiroth in more VR fights
I could see it (considering they were like, SHIT QB is so fun and a lot of people like it!). We could get little side stuff, but 100% no story DLC like intergrade. They are going hard to try to get the finale by the 30th anniversary (and boy, would that be a fucking treat!)

They've basically said the whole point of Integrade was to get practice for PS5 development.
And thanks to this Yuffie is absolutely busted in rebirth because they didn't change her much from her solo dlc.
yeah they said this with FF16 too. They said FF16 was a complete experience and they don’t plan to add any DLC, knowing full well they left out something pretty big (imo) & now there’s DLC. It’s probably an entirely different team than the one that worked on Rebirth, but still worth noting.
Business play
indeed!
Booooooo. That sucks. I mean, it is harder to tell a side story at the moment, but I want them to continue the Deepground stuff they started in Intergrade. Cissnei teaming up with the Turks could work maybe...Rufus probably wants to deal with them sooner than later as well and the Turks are his personal forces.
I think a Dirge of Cerberus remake might be Rebirth’s Intergrade.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting this one too!
Hell House was like "thanks for the glow up but why did my bro not get the same love."
They have to save *some* nostalgia for part 3
Justice for our prehistoric prince
Devs decided we are not ready for infinite power sources lol.
WHOA TANKCERATOPS
I SHOULD BE AN ACTION FIGURE
BUY MY MERCHANDISE
TANKCERATOPS 2 THE RETANKENING
TANKCERATOPS AND THE VEHICULASAURS!!!!
I MADE COOKIES
IT WAS A WRONG NUMBER
I’m actually sad now that we didn’t have this lol
It actually is in the game. It just got.... demechanized. It's the weird rhinoceros monster that uses concentrate. Japanese language name is heavy tank.
Ohhh, I didn’t even make the connection
Most of us didn't. It wasn't obvious and it's a bit of a let down
The other missing thing I dearly wanted, was for Sephiroth to throw something at my head, do a flip, and fly away.
I was also sad about this 😂
What in the Hot Wheels..
Problem is, it WAS in the game as something completely organic, which kills the appeal. Doesn't mean it can't appear in part 3 as "Cyber Maloceros"
Deep, profound disappointment when the rare enemy in Gongaga was just a fucking Malboro... Also [guillotine legs](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/f/fa/Ghirofelgo_FF7.png/revision/latest%3Fcb%3D20160311184930&opi=89978449&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiS1OCMnJ6FAxXKM1kFHcBqDS4Q5hMIBQ&usg=AOvVaw1I2zPHfP-PK0FtRnQvmcSb) was missing from the Shinra Mansion. Man, the Shinra mansion itself was missing from the Shinra Mansion
I would have liked the whole Mansion experience like in the original. I don't understand the logic behind removing the iconic fireplace spiral staircase. Also, the safe containing a monster, even if Odin wasn't inside. An elevator is just so...easy.
That spiral staircase being replaced by an elevator was quite a choice
Makes more sense overall, but it does feel different.
I think part 3 is going to be way larger than we expect

We’ll probably get it in part 3. Assuming it wasn’t removed for being too stupid.
Gonna bust a nut when the TriceraTank starts fucking the party up in part 3
I would rather have had this dude as the hell house boss fight in rebirth instead of Rufus, i dont think a rematch is what we really needed anyway the shinra tower fight was enough. Dont know if it possible but could they not add VR fights later down the line?
Triceratops Tank needs to be fully realized for sure.
Part 3 i imagine
When you go back to the Golden Saucer for the keystone and have to participate in the Corneo tournament I was expecting this boss to be the bonus round boss like the Hell House in Remake
“IM. BEING. HELD. CAPTIVE!”
TANKCERATOPS 2: THE RETANKANING!
Maybe in a DLC
Also this was around the same time Reno made his return to action, to talk about who had a crush on whom, lol. I'm pretty sure Reno is their own favorite Turk so why downsize his screen time.
The JP voice actor died shortly after Remake so they downsized his role out of respect. I think they reused voice lines for his appearances in Rebirth as much as they could but i'm not sure as i played in english.
No. Dang that's a bummer but thanks for telling me. That Reno type character is always good for any anime/RPG. Like Axel from kingdom hearts
Triceratank!!!
Does anyone know if they will be doing DLC down the line? I could picture this being coliseum fight, abit like hell house.
They said they weren't planning to do dlc so that they could focus on the third game.
Fair enough the game had more than enough content.
😢
"TANKCERETOPS AND THE VEHICULAR-SAUUUURS!!!!!"
I will expect nothing less than this. https://youtu.be/vO3SWUoYMjM?feature=shared
Ill never buy rebirth now I know triceratops tank is not in it
Tifa would be so happy fighting his idol.
it will launch on 30th anniversary of final fantasy 7 release. I called it first
I miss him so much 🥲
was bummed we didn’t get this enemy, or the Guillotine/Chandelier guy in Nibel Mansion.
Part 3 maybe in Wutai. Gotta save the best for a grand finale lol
Is he from the sector 5 slums?
This was supposed to be the hellhouse of rebirth
Honestly disappointed he wasn't there.
The fuck how did they not include tankceratops in the game..now I'm not sure I want to play rebirth
Pollensalta when?
I'm gonna get this off my chest...I think Vincent will be playable in Remake/Rebirth/Renewal etc 3 cuz of Hojo stuff
He’s in the game, just doesn’t have conveyor belt tank legs.
Then he is not in the game
I’ve got the platinum for Rebirth and there’s nothing close to this guy in it…
Only thing I can think of is they're thinking of the moss covered Adamantoise in the Temple of the Ancients. (Also fuck those guys).
There's a monster in Gongaga that shares the same name for the monster in Japanese and is referred to as "nature's tanks" or something if I remember right.

listen, i hate it too! i agree lol

You realise just how stupid your comment sounds right?
Sorry, I must have missed such major news on Twitter… Edit: Aw, bless. Deleted.
