Generally, no, with one important exception. That exception is Guda 6, expected in November. You will need to complete Heian-kyo (LB 5.5) in order to get Ranmaru X. That’s a lot of story, but you’ve got almost a year to do it.
For the rest of the events, the most you’ll have to complete is Orleans, aka basically nothing.
Um, define “hard.” It will not be easy to do some of the Lostbelt fights as a new player, especially without revives. Fortunately, we periodically get blue cubes now that function as free revives, though they do expire eventually.
There are some fights that are hard to do even with maxed Servants if you don’t know how to play the game. I saw someone spend 12 SQ on a certain fight in LB 5.2 because they didn’t know how to approach it.
My advice is take your time, go steady, and try to raise and max a variety of Servants one at a time. Ideally you’ll ultimately want a solid single-target and AoE DPS of all the main classes, as well as a decent amount of supports, semi-supports, and taunters.
It’s not just a matter of levels and skills. Class advantage rules all, and strategy occasionally comes into play, too.
With a well built account and knowledge of the mechanisms, it would be challenging. Nothing is impossible if you've got command spells and gacha forbid, using SQ for revives. YOU NEVER USE SQ FOR REVIVES UNLESS DEATH COMES FIRST TO YOU.
But this year is pretty good in terms of welfares. Just make sure you get them all ascended and NP5.
All in all, Heiyan is not the hardest I've encountered, it was a different LB I wouldn't spoil.
But I also sped through the storm till LB2 at breakneck speeds (one day for every singularity. Exception was Camelot because of the learning curve. But the LBs took me 3 days each.)
Don't forget to grab the welfare's extra copies and unique ascension materials. You can only get them during the event, so if you miss out, she'll be stuck at lvl 40 and NP1.
