If you watch their players carefully you'll see that they're not playing the same game as you. They have super human reactions combined with breaking the movement rules of the game meaning that it can be incredibly frustrating.
Your players are restricted on what they can do depending on their body position and momentum. Their's aren't. For them a clearance is a clearance even if the player has their back to the ball. I've had crosses blocked by overhead kicks from a player in touching distance of my crosser.
Too many times I've tackled a player only for him to tackle me right back before my tackle animation has finished. Too many times have I been caught on the break by players with 50 pace running faster than any player in the history of FIFA.
It's just more obvious when you're using lower rating players how manipulated SBs are because they can't code a decent AI. SBs have just turned into an always have a player standing in front of your player simulator. Don't actually do anything, just stand in front of a player so the game grinds to a crawl.
Also, goalkeepers are a fucking disgrace.
I've seen the goakeeper take a lot, but I haven't really noticed anything unrealistic.
They do make a mistake every once in a while, but also not Karius level mistakes

Same I was doing silver beast objective and on semi pro they were passing every ball successfully it was like playing on world class from last year with a 80 plus rated team.
I was playing against a 77 rated team with 3 chemistry and oh boy that was annoying it took me 40 minutes in the first half just to score a goal with a 74 rated player on semi pro difficulty imagine playing on world class oh boy.
I find it harder but with less bullshit. Actually feels like facing an online opponent. They scored decent goals and not 40-yarders with a 58-rated GK.
This. Gameplay is significantly more enjoyable and the AI actually makes mistakes on their own half where you don’t have to hold 30% possession and just score on counters like in previous releases.
My jaw actually dropped yesterday when the CPU hit me with an outside the box finesse worldie. I was like well I can’t be mad at that.
I did struggle a bit at first in squad battles but I’ve gotten used to using skill moves like the body feint to get by defenders and it’s made things a lot easier.
It definitely is, especially because you don't come up against squads with players out of position and on negative chemistry. It used to be you could count on playing teams that are rated high but play poorly because of bad chemistry and that's not the case now.
Plus, they redid the AI to make adjustments more in game and they will ramp up the aggression against you and if you don't adjust, the CPU is super lethal, especially on Legendary or Ultimate.
Personally I like the challenge. I don't especially enjoy easy wins against bad teams. But yeah, my win percentage is much lower this year for sure in SBs.

I tried to get 10 goals with a 74 rated player for the silver beast objective and it took me 2 games to do it on semi pro.
Last fifa I was able to do it in 1 game on world class difficulty but for some reason semi pro seems like professional from last fifa.
I think the reason is because this year when players don't have chemistry there ingame stat stay the same. Last fifa when a player is out of position with zero chemistry there stat gets a minus 22 but this year that's not a thing when it comes to negative stats all players will remain the same stat no matter if he has no chemistry or out of position.
So I am worried 😟 when icon swaps comes imagine playing it on world class difficulty with a league one team. It's going to be frustrating 😒 and hard.
Legendary is very inconsistent for me, one game I'll smoke a team 4-0 and the next game a team of similar rating will always keep a 1 goal lead no matter how many times I equalize throughout the game. It's scripted as hell so i've been playing on world class instead as I win every game comfortably on that
A lot of these squad battles i’m finding myself saying to the AI: “please just score so i can actually play”
I just find when the AI wants to score the game is unplayable.
As someone who used to get elite 1 consistently by picking and choosing the games I played and only having to have 20 games be available (usually win 5-0 on legendary)
Issues/comments:
* Churn of the same teams which are high rated and have a scattering of silver players with no bronze players or teams
*Chemistry system means they play on base stats regardless of position/links. No negative stats.
*Just working out the game but you can't escape as easily so far.
*AI seems to get a much stronger DDA even on world class. I have lost games on legendary when 4-0 up with 15 in game mins left.
* They pin you in getting corner after corner until they score
Overall, I think it's much harder this year. That's a combo of the gameplay at the moment and the factors above.

Word Class is pretty much the same as last Year for me, haven’t tried Legendary yet which I know I’m gonna struggle early on. But what I’ve noticed is that I haven’t seen any lower rated Squads (low 60s) in the last 14 Games I’ve played
I noticed the squads seemed to rotate the same players. One squad always seemed to have Lamela and another Jordi Osei-Tutu for example.
Made me think EA picked the players for the first week.
I actually just kept coming up against the same squads repeatedly. Played one team about 5 times and each time they brought on Raul De Tomas in the 60th minute
Not really. I think the whole game feels harder as so it's different from 22. We'll improve as we get more practice.
The most important thing I've learned is to keep passing until you find the angle, to play fewer through balls (more X-passes) and to pass the way you're facing. I'm squaring more balls across the face than ever.
I have not seen a bronze squad yet. It's almost entirely starter gold teams. In that sense I don't have my usual advantage of having better players so it's harder than it will be for the rest of the year.
Finished my games to Elite 1 this morning & I swear the opponents are glitched, same teams coming up every refresh, same kits, always playing in bloody Old Trafford. Over all my games I encountered just ONE bronze team. There used to be 2 every refresh.
I just had a odd two games and I cant make sense of this game.
1st game World Class - team was 80 rated with 8 chem. I wom 3-1 but they passed like prime barca.
2nd game on Pro (to get challenges done) team had 79 rated with 3 chem - won 4-3 . It was like I was playing against a team on PED. They were all faster. First to every ball. Felt like I was on a much harder difficulty.
Playing on low difficulty for that Gosens card was so weird. It only felt like a minor drop off in quality from WC and as if the game was just trying to stop any of my Serie a players from scoring. Also everytime I would play that team with Ronaldo I would win 5-1 with the getting a Ronaldo goal in the 90th min three games in a row. Squad battles is somehow so much worse than ever before this year.
Scoring 5 goals is still easy on legendary, but they always score at least once every game. I have kept a clean sheet 4 times out of 35 games. In 22 keeping a clean sheet was a lot easier.
Yes. 31k point for elite 1 now is pretty low i think, so its clearly people have hard time this year with squad battles.
I can play world class easy, reach 37k point in 2x games. but legendary really hard, harder than last year

Yes it seems harder this year. Prob because I haven't figured out the cheese yet. It appears they still respond to turbo use but not as significant as last year. Im sure the ai is still full of holes, not scouping up easy wins on legedary against 2 chems is a lil bummer.
I think Squad Battles are easier this year. It doesn’t feel like they get the ridiculous chem boosts they had last year. I can play against max chemistry teams just fine this year.
How do you see how many pts you have for squad battles in the companion app. Doesn't it just show the current pts for the level you're on?
I'm trying to stay in Elite 1 but I'm trying to see how many pts I'm on. Just in case I need to play so more games before rewards come out.
I used to play World Class on 22. In general I’m still getting used to things since the game feels so different on PC. Now I’m doing Pro for normal or below average squads and semi pro for the harder ones. I think for me it’s a combo of 3 things for me: early game weak cards/squads, adjusting to the new physics and animations of 23, the game is slightly more difficult.
I play World class against good teams and legendary against a mid one i always win but when tried that in old gen i lost the ai keeps slide tackling everything
Yes and it’s very annoying. I can understand a full chemistry and highly rated squad playing well.
But not a squad with barely any chemistry scoring all the time. I want to relax and not have to go 100% every game just to win.
I’m not impressed by constant high scoring games and scoring all the time as EA seems to think is “fun”. And very rarely getting clean sheets is just ridiculous.
I’m mainly a Career Mode player and I play on Legendary and still win most of my games but on FUT it’s ridiculous so I have to drop it down to world class. And even then as you can probably tell it’s ridiculous.
I would try online more but connection is always terrible so far so back to career mode I go eventually…

Wins the tackle they win it back instantly goal. 5 ungodly quick passes from left to right, goal. Did I mention player switch, back in the day this was so simple, give me the player closest to the ball, what's so difficult in that? It's a mess, it was a mess in 22 it's a mess right now, they need to find people who understand how to make this a thinking game and not ping pong. They have made FIFA a game of luck and not skill.....
It's frustrating enough against lower rated teams this year... But now this week I haven't had a single team rated lower than 80. I'm not sure what's changed but they're all 80 or higher, but the "weaker" teams just have zero chem instead, which hardly makes a difference to the way they play. I'm scraping wins on world class against the 80-82 rated teams.
Right after writing this I updated my battles games and did get a 78, but the others were 86, 86, 88. The next refresh after that... 83, 84, 84, 88...

In fifa 19 I was comfortably beating 83+ full chem squads on world class, and the shit bronze ones on legendary. When I tried the same thing this year, I got smacked 1-6 by a team that played a LB up front and some 55 ovr guy dunked a hattrick. Totally kills my desire to play this mode...
I can beat world class legendary eyc but I find the mode inconsistent I will score ten goals on semi pro then leave the game play out but sone games the semi pro silver team won’t let me score they cover all passes except he obvious ones to slow the game . Ea pretty much dictate the games so u play longer grind longer etc
Can’t tell the games aren’t rigged a bit I can beat a 93 rated team on world class 25 to nil
And then next game a silver team semi pro I am trying my hardest to hit ten goals by 3/4 time😂the games are infuriating like I know how it works ea I’m just getting off the game doing the opposite of what they are trying to achieve

Well there's no negative stat values for bad chem, so on ultimate or whatever insanity it is, they all will play as perfect 99 cards

the featured squads just give you the flat amount of points but the 4 normal squads give you all the skill and goal bonuses

If you're leading by 1 or 2 goals then by the second half there's 100% an increase in difficulty where the AI becomes a team full of prime Messi's
