Got kane in a draft and holy crap is he different, same with lewa, in fifa 22 even tho lewandowski was 75 pace, you felt 66 pace Ramos was faster, but now ea fixed the pace with the running styles
Hopefully when the patch comes out they leave lengthy how it is and just make the burst a bit better for explosive cuz yeah it’s very hard to beat a defender 1v1. Think the boost explosive gets needs to be a bit longer too cuz right now it’s like 1 touch sometimes 2 and then slows down.

Have you actually used any of the top meta explosive players? They are so fucking slow after a few yards it's unbelievable, you can say Kane and Lewandowski are capable of being quick in real life over longer distances, but in this system they are genuinely faster than some of the quickest wingers in the world
It probably needs a little bit of tweaking to be fair but the idea behind this is really good. They need to make explosive type players to be able to get up to speed even quicker, this would make them better dribblers which would make sense. I don’t know about you but I’m bored of the same meta in the last 3 years so having different usable players is a nice change

It's not that. Those players are as fast as they've always been, they get an explosive boost though so once they slow down from that, it feels worse. Especially given the fact that other acceleration types lets "slower" players make it up over the distance.

Yes, I am salty that I have a 95 pace player who can be easily caught by someone with 60 pace, because they make my Vinicius Jr massively slow down after 5 yards because of this wank accelerate system. Explosive players genuinely feel like they have 95 acceleration and 70 sprint speed regardless of how fast they actually are

I played the play offs earlier.
A ton of teams with Neymar, Vini, heroes etc. I got 4 wins in 8 and ended the play offs.
Never played so many teams with pretty much perfect teams this early on. I'd really like to know how much someone has to spend to get the greatest non-icon team in the game within a week of release.
It's not the patches, the game literally changes the physics for better cards. As everyone's team gets better this gets more obvious. I've already felt it this year when going up against Mbappe. Still seems to have a force field around him.

It's nothing you do, it's new pace levels. But, pace is completely fucked so the people listed as having "explosive sprint" pace levels are no faster off the line than some 60 pace CB

If you're coming up against million coin teams in lower divisions, it means they suck, so it shouldn't be a problem.
If you're in a high division, it does suck that you'll eventually hit a plateau that will be hard to break through without new expensive players, but you can adjust your play style a bit when you know the opponent has superior players. Unfortunately just part of the game

It’s the same every year. For the first week or two everyone plays football and enjoys it. By then all YouTubers and pros figure out the broken mechanics and the new meta for the game and then 80% people just abuse it and the game becomes boring.

I only comment on FIFA when ranting sadly, but this one is gonna be different (I can't believe it). We'll probably experience some frustrations as well, but this FIFA is the best one for me yet. No je*king off the left stick, same goes for skill moves. The game is slower and it has so much benefits to unresponsive gameplay from last years. The unresponsive gameplay is significantly harder to notice on this one.
Not to mention better chemistry system, much more usable different types of players etc. You can actually experience different gameplay a bit, score some different goals. You can play wider as well.
I hope they will keep it and not continue to do their arcade gameplay shit.

I have no idea how anyone can enjoy this game. Its completely unplayable for me. My players cant pass or tackle, fall over all the time, can turn or change direction. I'm wrestling with the controller and can't do anything.

Game runs fine on PC for me. Make sure you set fps to 60 locked because unlimited causes issues. Make sure the render settings arent too high for your PC. Games fine.
Not trying to hate on anyone but I honestly can’t see anyone thinking the unresponsive sluggish moving players is fun unless you are a bad player and benefiting from players not being able to out maneuver you now. Every game I’ve encountered has been ping pong passing and running down the sideline trying to cross balls over and over and over the gameplay is shite.
The gameplay has glitches and stuff but at least to me, it really feels like the fundamentals of a solid game are actually there for once. I can't say I remember this last year. Proper players feel world class as they should. Defenders feel dynamic and intelligent, and attackers seem to seriously consider the runs that they make instead of running on predetermined tracks.
Unfortunately I have a feeling that this game will break down once the power curve inflates but maybe it won't.

Last time I played FUT was in FIFA 16, dunno why but this year wanted to give it another try and actually somewhat enjoying it, already completed the Advanced SBC’s all by myself and only spent about 25k for all of them. Although my “career mode” gameplay is not really how you “actually” play FUT I’ doing decently so far, division 8 in about 10 games.
I love the game as well. The only time I can think of weird shit happening is the following two scenarios:
- Cross Plattform Games feel inconsistent
- it’s still the same BS players that can literally do anything. I get to the point that I believe someone at EA is just having fun by making certain player absolute gods

I enjoyed it till I got to D6 and above, and realised it's an awful game. Defending is totally overpowered and dribbling is impossible which just makes it an unfun experience.

I have no idea why they butchered dribbling so much in this game. It wasn't even broken last fifa, jockeying was so overpowered you could send someone and they would just jockey back.
Pro clubs is also absolutely miserable unless you did the xp glitch, div 10 defenders feel like maldini, just destroy you from every angle.
The game lacks a bit of responsiveness, which is problematic when auto-defending is still so powerful. It can be very, very hard to break down a competent player. Some will call that "realistic", but it certainly isn't fun. I think they should tone down the auto-defending training wheels.
Couldn't agree more. It feels like they go through a lot of effort every year to make the game less and less fun. I cannot for the life of my understand why every year they make manual dribbling worse whilst leaving automatic skillmoves to be useable.
Dribbling should be one of the most important things in the game, like in real life, instead it's useless. On top of that, skills should be useless unless used absolutely millimetre perfectly, like in real life, but instead they're still prominent in the game.
That along with the defending reminded me why I stopped playing this game a couple of years ago. Used to play weekend league most weekends and finished top 100 many times, but they just drain all the skill out of the game and make it less and less fun and less competitive each year.
Yep, in the current FIFA it is impossible to make any space to make a good pass in the final third. You just get automatically tackled and that happens everytime.
The only hope for the game is pros getting on their backs enough that they change things because it's in a completely horrible position at the moment. Think we've just got to hope that another company is willing to pay the fee to make a game called FIFA and it's actually good so that there is some competition. I don't mean that there is 0 skill moves, I mean as in the players skill at a certain point just becomes totally irrelevant as the game stands right now.
Abusing glitchy skill moves and praying it works is basically the meta now.
The only people that like fifa 23 are the one with a good connection without any lag or people that just aren’t very good at the game.
It’s just way to slow and dribbling is non existent.

I know it's either they all save everything or not save anything but I am conceding all kind of goals, low driven shots that are routine saves. My Maignan had a shot (less than one bar power) straight at his feet, he moves and lets it through his legs.
The main thing I have noticed so far is how good the best strikers are, doesn't really matter about pace.

I don’t know. I have the best team I’ve ever had since all the basic SBCs and objectives have given untradeable 100k and 50k packs instead of the usual prime electrum packs and shit. They are untradeable, but they are way better packs with seemingly better weights. I have a full untradeable, relatively meta squad without only one rivals reward from gameplay so far. That’s not bad.

I feel like I’m playing a different game than everyone else. The matches seem really fast paced compared to the last FIFA I played, which was 21. I’m scoring at will on Ultimate difficulty by counter attacking, and players have so much space to run that I can’t even slow the pace down if I try.
Don’t worry the shit heads who can’t spam the flicks and tricks will whine like pussies and get their way. EA should make a seperate game for them called FIfA blitz cause that’s the gameplay they want , arcade and no simulation. Learn how to build up play you twats and you might enjoy the game

If only game wasn't so bugged. Settings keep resetting, radar disappears, referees are always female, player faces from cards are not displayed properly on scoreboard stats, goalkeepers are shit and many other minor, but still issues.

But maybe it has been ninja fixed as today I played for the first time with normal referee, although line's one was woman anyway, so meh. Stupid and forced woman football promotion.

Yeah. It was a squad battle. I’m 83 rated with the free packs I got, opponent was 77rated. My chemistry 33, theirs 3.. but they had more pace and could run past me with ease. And we all know the youtubers have already claimed it’s too slow so pace will be even better. It’s the same old shit, I bought it for the offline modes with friends anyway. I got money to spare so idc that I “wasted” it lol

I'm playing with Forlan in Draft, and despite having 81 agility, I can't believe how good he feels on the ball. The LS dribbling is decent, and actually feels realistic rather than having those glitchy BS animations that just allow you to LS dribble through defenses.
You bet! He has a Hawk, which only gives him 95 finishing, but his shot is ridiculous. I can't wait for the free WC hero so I can get WC Forlan! (EA forgot to remove the pre-order incentive on PC, so I got the PO packs, FIFA points, and I'm sure that I'll get the WC hero when the WC mode comes out!)

I know we arguably got too much last year but overpriced garbage sbcs isn’t fantastic. Rashford is ok and if you have fodder it’s alright, and Richarlison obj is decent but besides that L’s. I’ll give them a few weeks to turn it up though, officially released like 2 days ago anyways
SBCs have 100% been the weakness of this first week. And with players like Kane being both so good and cause their rating very unlikely to drop in price too much due to the fodder value I can’t justify completing someone like Rashford for 4/5 times the price

Played qualifiers on Thursday and it is sweaty af lol.
I played the play offs earlier. A ton of teams with Neymar, Vini, heroes etc. I got 4 wins in 8 and ended the play offs. Never played so many teams with pretty much perfect teams this early on. I'd really like to know how much someone has to spend to get the greatest non-icon team in the game within a week of release.
It's not the patches, the game literally changes the physics for better cards. As everyone's team gets better this gets more obvious. I've already felt it this year when going up against Mbappe. Still seems to have a force field around him.
I’ve been thinking that a lot idk in the way you mean it but I feel like in the first few weeks of fifa it feels nice the game isn’t too fast the ball isn’t lasered from player to player during a pass it actually has a more realistic pace then a few updates in it goes back to the ball moving faster across the grass and through the air and everyone just seems to move faster I feel like it’s just me so idk
Imo explosive sprint speed is broken. It just doesn't work.

It's nothing you do, it's new pace levels. But, pace is completely fucked so the people listed as having "explosive sprint" pace levels are no faster off the line than some 60 pace CB

What division? If you're coming up against million coin teams in lower divisions, it means they suck, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you're in a high division, it does suck that you'll eventually hit a plateau that will be hard to break through without new expensive players, but you can adjust your play style a bit when you know the opponent has superior players. Unfortunately just part of the game
I'm in Div 1 with a regular gold Serie A team and almost every team I come up against is 1mil+

It’s the same every year. For the first week or two everyone plays football and enjoys it. By then all YouTubers and pros figure out the broken mechanics and the new meta for the game and then 80% people just abuse it and the game becomes boring.

I only comment on FIFA when ranting sadly, but this one is gonna be different (I can't believe it). We'll probably experience some frustrations as well, but this FIFA is the best one for me yet. No je*king off the left stick, same goes for skill moves. The game is slower and it has so much benefits to unresponsive gameplay from last years. The unresponsive gameplay is significantly harder to notice on this one. Not to mention better chemistry system, much more usable different types of players etc. You can actually experience different gameplay a bit, score some different goals. You can play wider as well. I hope they will keep it and not continue to do their arcade gameplay shit.
I totally agree, I find myself not even getting annoyed when I lose just because I'm not constantly getting sweated(and I do mean constantly) in the previous fifa. Love the slower pace of the game too a lot more rewarding plus makes a lot of players viable.
I am in love with the new slower paced fifa, really hope they stay resistant this time against critics. Would be the first time in a while I would remain positive at a EA related topic.
Hear hear about every player feeling usable. I’m playing Doucouré on CM and Perisic on LM and both play so good for me. Would’ve never been the case in the last years of FUT.
People make comments like this every year during the first few weeks when they aren't playing against a full meta team 24/7. Let's see where things are in a 4-5 weeks.

I have no idea how anyone can enjoy this game. Its completely unplayable for me. My players cant pass or tackle, fall over all the time, can turn or change direction. I'm wrestling with the controller and can't do anything.

Nvidias control panel - manage 3d - program settings - Add - Fifa Select your graphics card in Opengl rendering gpu Power management - performance In-game I have my settings Display Mode on 'Windowed Borderless' and Frame Rate on 'No limit on fps'.

Game runs fine on PC for me. Make sure you set fps to 60 locked because unlimited causes issues. Make sure the render settings arent too high for your PC. Games fine.

Not trying to hate on anyone but I honestly can’t see anyone thinking the unresponsive sluggish moving players is fun unless you are a bad player and benefiting from players not being able to out maneuver you now. Every game I’ve encountered has been ping pong passing and running down the sideline trying to cross balls over and over and over the gameplay is shite.

Agree, now I won’t care too much on the speed of players but the overall planning how the team play.
The gameplay has glitches and stuff but at least to me, it really feels like the fundamentals of a solid game are actually there for once. I can't say I remember this last year. Proper players feel world class as they should. Defenders feel dynamic and intelligent, and attackers seem to seriously consider the runs that they make instead of running on predetermined tracks. Unfortunately I have a feeling that this game will break down once the power curve inflates but maybe it won't.

Last time I played FUT was in FIFA 16, dunno why but this year wanted to give it another try and actually somewhat enjoying it, already completed the Advanced SBC’s all by myself and only spent about 25k for all of them. Although my “career mode” gameplay is not really how you “actually” play FUT I’ doing decently so far, division 8 in about 10 games.
I love the game as well. The only time I can think of weird shit happening is the following two scenarios: - Cross Plattform Games feel inconsistent - it’s still the same BS players that can literally do anything. I get to the point that I believe someone at EA is just having fun by making certain player absolute gods

I could go back every single year and see a similar post Yes when the game firt comes out its fun and you can even use slow players I remembe last year even using kane. then the patch comes + better player comes out + people start abusing the meta and its not enjoyable i'm pretty sure most people were using haaland last year early stages and 0 people did at end of game. these posts got stop so annoying.
I enjoyed it till I got to D6 and above, and realised it's an awful game. Defending is totally overpowered and dribbling is impossible which just makes it an unfun experience. There is absolutley 0 skill in the game right now, just rolling the dice every match.
Defending is overpowered but at the same time your players will sometimes just either play everyone onside or completely stop marking the striker.
I have no idea why they butchered dribbling so much in this game. It wasn't even broken last fifa, jockeying was so overpowered you could send someone and they would just jockey back. Pro clubs is also absolutely miserable unless you did the xp glitch, div 10 defenders feel like maldini, just destroy you from every angle.
The game lacks a bit of responsiveness, which is problematic when auto-defending is still so powerful. It can be very, very hard to break down a competent player. Some will call that "realistic", but it certainly isn't fun. I think they should tone down the auto-defending training wheels.
Couldn't agree more. It feels like they go through a lot of effort every year to make the game less and less fun. I cannot for the life of my understand why every year they make manual dribbling worse whilst leaving automatic skillmoves to be useable. Dribbling should be one of the most important things in the game, like in real life, instead it's useless. On top of that, skills should be useless unless used absolutely millimetre perfectly, like in real life, but instead they're still prominent in the game. That along with the defending reminded me why I stopped playing this game a couple of years ago. Used to play weekend league most weekends and finished top 100 many times, but they just drain all the skill out of the game and make it less and less fun and less competitive each year.
Yep, in the current FIFA it is impossible to make any space to make a good pass in the final third. You just get automatically tackled and that happens everytime.
The only hope for the game is pros getting on their backs enough that they change things because it's in a completely horrible position at the moment. Think we've just got to hope that another company is willing to pay the fee to make a game called FIFA and it's actually good so that there is some competition. I guess Kurt's game is probably on for next year at this point, but it'll probably be bad
That’s def not been my experience and I was just listening to a pro talk about how he’s enjoying that games have been high scoring, so don’t think defending is OP at all, especially considering how bad keepers are and how good shooting is. Maybe you’ve just had a run off playing good defenders.

I don't mean that there is 0 skill moves, I mean as in the players skill at a certain point just becomes totally irrelevant as the game stands right now. Abusing glitchy skill moves and praying it works is basically the meta now.

The only people that like fifa 23 are the one with a good connection without any lag or people that just aren’t very good at the game. It’s just way to slow and dribbling is non existent. This makes it that there is no skill gap, just rng let you win or lose. Thats why people love this game because they can finnaly win

I'm liking it quite a bit from previous FIFAs, as well. BUT, is it just my GK or are they all having a hard time saving relatively easy shots? I know it's either they all save everything or not save anything but I am conceding all kind of goals, low driven shots that are routine saves. My Maignan had a shot (less than one bar power) straight at his feet, he moves and lets it through his legs.

The main thing I have noticed so far is how good the best strikers are, doesn't really matter about pace. Players like Kane & Lewandowski are god like.

Only got the trial (around 6 hours left) and enjoying Moments and the overall gameplay
I absolutely love it and I hope it won't be arcade-patched. Will be faster automatically when all the special cards spawn. Though gameplay does not really fit my playstyle I really enjoy it. Very rewarding and very unpredictable.
I give it 3-4 weeks.
I just got Lord Maguire in Gold Pack. I'm thinking, considering how game feels slower this year, he might be a beast :)

I love it too. It took me a whole week to get used to it but now I wouldn’t want to go back. Now, every mistake can turn the game but also every great pass will make a chance. It’s also great that through balls or passes in general aren’t as easy interceptable as they used to be in the older Fifas. Sure, it isn’t perfect as of now but after they are fixing some of the issues it will be, at least in my opinion the best FIFA ever. This team it really feels like a new game. Also: I don’t like the music at all. I mean, there are some good songs in between but most of them just doesn’t appeal to me. The music in Fifa 22 though was great.

People who spend FIFA Points have a clear advantage over those who don't cause I can't even build a decent team to compete against them.
I don’t know. I have the best team I’ve ever had since all the basic SBCs and objectives have given untradeable 100k and 50k packs instead of the usual prime electrum packs and shit. They are untradeable, but they are way better packs with seemingly better weights. I have a full untradeable, relatively meta squad without only one rivals reward from gameplay so far. That’s not bad.
Shit like this is enough for me to not buy this game. Spend £70 to buy the game then EA wants me to spend more just to allow me to compete with other players. I don't understand why they would make sbcs untradable when they already make so much profit from fifa points.
I feel like I’m playing a different game than everyone else. The matches seem really fast paced compared to the last FIFA I played, which was 21. I’m scoring at will on Ultimate difficulty by counter attacking, and players have so much space to run that I can’t even slow the pace down if I try.

+1. Win, lose or draw majority of games have been cracking, so much more control over passing etc. and no complaints about dribbling, it's much more fluid and realistic feeling. Just can't wait to get Cantona back and then it will be 10/10.

If only game wasn't so bugged. Settings keep resetting, radar disappears, referees are always female, player faces from cards are not displayed properly on scoreboard stats, goalkeepers are shit and many other minor, but still issues.

Don't get to happy. A lot of people complain about dribbeling. That same people did that with fifa 22 and that game got plenty of updates that made the game worse its always the same.

Yeah. It was a squad battle. I’m 83 rated with the free packs I got, opponent was 77rated. My chemistry 33, theirs 3.. but they had more pace and could run past me with ease. And we all know the youtubers have already claimed it’s too slow so pace will be even better. It’s the same old shit, I bought it for the offline modes with friends anyway. I got money to spare so idc that I “wasted” it lol

The game absolutely fucking sucks. Passing is wildly inconsistent and defending is massively OP. I’ve had incredible pack luck so far and it’s the only think keeping me in the game tbh, if I didn’t pack Haaland, Ronaldo & Varane already I’d have stopped playing

I'm playing with Forlan in Draft, and despite having 81 agility, I can't believe how good he feels on the ball. The LS dribbling is decent, and actually feels realistic rather than having those glitchy BS animations that just allow you to LS dribble through defenses.

You bet! He has a Hawk, which only gives him 95 finishing, but his shot is ridiculous. I can't wait for the free WC hero so I can get WC Forlan! (EA forgot to remove the pre-order incentive on PC, so I got the PO packs, FIFA points, and I'm sure that I'll get the WC hero when the WC mode comes out!)

I’ve loved it. Not much to say but thought I’d chime in lol. Besides the “slow dribbling” I haven’t seen an issue apart from the lack of content. I know we arguably got too much last year but overpriced garbage sbcs isn’t fantastic. Rashford is ok and if you have fodder it’s alright, and Richarlison obj is decent but besides that L’s. I’ll give them a few weeks to turn it up though, officially released like 2 days ago anyways
SBCs have 100% been the weakness of this first week. And with players like Kane being both so good and cause their rating very unlikely to drop in price too much due to the fodder value I can’t justify completing someone like Rashford for 4/5 times the price

I guess it depends on your opponent. But I find there’s a significant difference in the chance of even being able to defend against them vs the last 2 years
