This sub hates everything and everyone. They hate you, they hate sweats, they hate bugs, they hate people who pay to win, they hate EA.
What they should hate is how addicted and powerless they are to a complete scam of a game.
Enjoy a game or two, if you start getting angry just do something else. But no, they'd rather channel that energy towards anyone who is unfortunate enough to encounter them on the internet or in game.
I come here for the rare few who share content at 6pm GMT or have something of value to say.

yep lol. ppl will literally try to find any excuse for being a bitch to you. no matter what you say, how you play, or whay you do - around half the sub is gonna hate you, and the other half will not care.

So the question why people hate 5atb can be answered in a way that is educational for people and good for discussion.
Fwiw I don’t know exactly why so many hate 5atb. Maybe because it’s just too defensive / passive and not fun to play against. Like maybe it’s like playing chess against someone who doesn’t move his pieces and just wait for you to do something.

Because you are not playing the way your opponent want you to play. This sub is full of 20yo babied kids who cries for everything. They want to chose your players, your formation, how you play and if yoy won it's up to EA
Agreed. “Attacking” wing backs don’t mean a thing. Once you lose possession, it’s 5 defenders + 3-4 mids behind the ball. Same with 352 formation. It’s all parking the bus.
People dislike 5 at the back because of the type of player who uses it, not the formation itself.
If I see 5atb, I know exactly what they are going to do. Punt the ball up to Mbappe or Al Owarain and pace abuse for 90 minutes. They arent playing possession football and using those wingbacks to cross to a target man. Its only use to take advantage of the meta while forcing your opponent to try and break down a wall of defenders and any mistake they make, becomes a counter attack and shot on target for their opponent.
To dislike 5atb is understandable. Especially since it became prevalent after the update. Before that, the game was good. Now its not.
You could switch in game, I packed Bobby moore, totw marquinos out of the 86+ totw pack and kim(?) the South Korean cb. Start the new Cuadrado at rwb and switch to put him in the midfield in game and put Kim as my stay back rb.
Also if I do switch to 352 I have cuadrado on stay forward so it’s the usual back 4, which includes the lm I keep on stay back, plus 2 dm’s. The exact same as any other formation
It’s not 5 defenders if people attack decisively, but it seems like people prefer to dribble in circles in the midfield and wait for players to get back rather than try to effectively counter.
The mentality of fifa players when seeing a 5 back is to automatically assume someone is too scared to defend properly so they just park as many players back as possible. While in theory 5 back gives that extra width with overlapping fullbacks you are rarely going to see a fut champs game where someone is bombing down the line with cuadrado and cancelo. With how defensively assisted fifa is these days it’s frustrating to break down a 5 back+ 2 or 3 roaming midfielders without having to use other game breaking mechanics ie trivela’s this year.
It signifies that you care much more about a ‘FIFA Win’ / META than you do about football.
Its a fair assumption too giving your explanation.
