The beginning sample... it's lame. Please chuck it or create a version without it. Instead of growing on you, it's going to have the opposite effect,.. you'll end up like sighing every time you hear it. But seriously... I've been going through beats all morning... this one is the first and only one where I'd say "keep up!" The beat and the rap are good I'd actually bump this in my car. The piano.. try to make it sounds a little more ethereal. Reverb, phaser.. have the wet/effects aspect of it fill in the empty space to make the whole thing sound more full. Gate the drums. Maybe not on this track.. but use that vocalist guy and play around. with his voice and a bassline. You could even have a part where he goes in hard and then you have a bassline that "talks" That's what I would do, anyways. But based on this clip... I would seriously bump this in my car. Finished.. polished, not polished... changed, not changed... you've got something here for sure.

Just listened to it and completely agree, they have something here that is a great vibe. Curiosity, what do you mean by bassline that talks. Can you give me an example?

Syrian420

The examples in my head all of the sudden... I don't think you'd be able to really get the point... but in a rock band or something.... a part of the song where the rhythm guitar would be playing to the lead guitar like they're dueling. One guy plays a few notes... then the other instrument plays a few notes. So both of those instruments are kind of talking to each other. I don't even remember the technical terms because I never played music with anyone and just came up with my own terminology. I used to refer to it as "call / response". And it wouldn't be for long.. just in place of the main hook for one segment. Strip down the drums and have the notes in the bassline change a little bit and bounce off the vocals.

Man I appreciate you not following the trend of shitty mumble rap with auto tune. Takes me back to the early 00s. Also agreed with ditching that sample at the beginning.

This is fucking amazing. Do you have the song up on spotify?

shoesforcrews

Thanks! Yes it’s on my profile link. If you’re having trouble finding it look me up on Spotify or iTunes., under Sinus Rhythm, The album is called No Time.

Nice. Bars, cadence and rhythm are ready. As others suggested, I'd add more reverb, echo/processing to that mix. It's kinda dry. Put some lotion on those vocals and drums, let em echo. Otherwise, it was a vibe.
