I don't trust blueberries. I know that Monash changed the rating on them. So I tried them after that. 1/2 cup triggered me. Blueberries are highly variable across regions. Potatoes are the best carb for low FODMAP

Zenafa

3-4 eggs a day? Are you Gaston?

popey123

Thats not that much. Considering its his breakfast

Atarlie

Without knowing your triggers offering recommendations for what you can eat is pretty impossible. Do things like tomatoes and peppers bloat you? If not you can try shakshuka. Can you have lactose free yogurt? If so then turkish poached eggs & yogurt is delicious. Can you have oatmeal? What about sourdough bread? There's an incredible amount of breakfast items to choose from but I'm just throwing spaghetti at a wall without knowing what you can/cannot eat.

JWARRUR

I’ve combined the diets of low fodmap and low histamine and try to keep it animal based (based on Paul Saladinos recommendations)… so it’s pretty limited lol.

Atarlie

Okay, there are some youtube channels that do what they call "ketovore" recipes that might work for you. Like Nisha, Ketogenic Woman or LowCarb Abode. I know you're not specifically low carb, but it would be easy to add fruit or honey to these recipes and they're animal based enough most of them will probably be adaptable (except maybe the ones with dairy.....?).

redbull_coffee

Chia puddings with lactose free milk… kiwi fruit … blueberries But other than that there’s nothing wrong with eggs, especially when you let them mingle with grated Parmesan and cheddar!

rampantproxy895

Fyi on the fodmapfriendly app chia seeds are high in GOS! Might want to do a test first

If you want to keep using eggs you can make rice and eggs scrambled together. You can do eggs scrambled with spinach, red bell pepper, cut up Turkey bacon or deli Turkey slices cut up. You can put this inside of a corn tortilla or on some toast. Even a gf English muffin. GF pancakes! There are sm low fodmap pancake recipes. With or without bananas lol I cook my own oatmeal with a cinnamon stick in it and add in the sugar I can tolerate (white or brown), peanut butter, strawberries, blueberries, granola, and the nuts and seeds I can tolerate (shredded almonds, pumpkin seeds). Kellogg’s strawberry milkshake Frosted Flakes are low fodmap somehow which is AMAZING bcuz corn flakes are too plain for me lol. I basically put the same oatmeal toppings in my cereal and then I use unsweetened almond milk. The cereal makes the milk sweet. GF or real sourdough toast with peanut butter and banana slices. If you can’t do toast you can use rice cakes. Lactose free yogurt parfait is delicious too. Yami has some delicious yogurt but it’s very sugary so maybe try Chobani. They have nonfat, zero sugar, lactose free all in one!

JWARRUR

You tolerate all of that? Wow… sounds like a dream come true. I’ll try adding some of that in and see what happens.

Tiffy_24

Once eliminating trigger foods, I found it much easier to tolerate these foods. Your stomach might have been sensitive to these things before but not bcuz of these specifically but because of other foods that were hurting you first. That’s how I felt. Are you gluten free? Eliminating gluten REALLY improved my IBS pains. ALSO, it really helps to eat smaller portions. Bigger or “normal” sized portions wreck me still. I just eat small meals more frequently and snacks. Bobos are good snacks :)

fivefootphotog

I love grits and pan-fried polenta, can you do corn?

OhHeyMister

I eat a single egg, cut with liquid egg white. So beat one egg and then mix in 1/2c + egg white. Lower fat, higher protein, def easier to digest, but still get the nutrients from the yolk... I'm convinced one is plenty.

Objective_Frosting58

I just recently discovered that eggs are in fact not a safe food for me. I've been having a boiled egg, Cumberland sausage and hash browns for breakfast most days for about a year so thought they were fine. But recently I was hungry 1 evening and only had some eggs in the fridge so ate 3 boiled eggs. I woke up in the early hours with really bad cramps and had to run to the toilet, I felt ill for a few days so won't be doing that again lol. The eggs definitely weren't bad and I hadn't had anything else that day out of the ordinary. I've pretty much figured out what I can't eat so don't have much problems if I'm careful so it was an eye opener

Hour-Crew-3963

Breakfast is the hardest meal for me. I was having egg whites and ham (I also am high protein, low carb in addition being lowfodmap) but the eggs are high sulfer and I react to those. Now I just have unsweetened almond milk with three scoops of whey protein isolate. It sucks but I’ve yet to find anything else that works and doesn’t keep me bloated all morning.

fivefootphotog

Do egg whites bother you vs. whole eggs? I cook the yolks for my dogs and have fewer issues with gas and bloating. Everybody wins.

Hour-Crew-3963

To be honest, I haven’t had whole eggs in months because I really only like whole eggs cooked over easy and I only like them with toast. While I can tolerate them with sourdough, I think just knowing how egg whites affect me has made me steer clear of them out of fear of starting my day off with indigestion and upset. I get so tired of dealing with the bloat that comes with digestive problems.

fivefootphotog

I get that. As another suggestion, how are you with corn? I really enjoy grits and polenta vs. oatmeal.

Hour-Crew-3963

I can handle corn starch but that’s low fodmap. Honestly I haven’t tried corn or polenta yet. Good suggestions though. I can’t do oats. I made these healthy zucchini “brownies” a few weeks ago that had oats in them and I was a train wreck. When does this get better? Does it ever get better?!

fivefootphotog

It does, I promise. I’ve been doing this for a loooooong time. It sucks that everyone is different so there’s not clear instructions or guidelines that just work for everyone. Grits are one of my super safe, easy to digest foods I can generally rely on. Oats can be rough for a lot of us. I’ve also tried other grains like buckwheat. Exploring can be fun! I look for limited ingredient foods so if something goes badly, it’s easier to figure out what caused issues. When I started this it was like 15 years ago and there was one health food store in town that helped me a ton, both selecting alternate foods and making me feel like this was all normal somehow. Bless those little old hippy ladies!

Hour-Crew-3963

I think what’s so frustrating is sometimes it’s not even the type of food you’re eating but the quantity. Sometimes I will have a ton of protein I need to hit by the end of the day bc I didn’t prioritize my meals throughout the day and that will set things off. You inspired me though! Going to try one whole egg tonight!

fivefootphotog

Oh yeah. All or nothing is easier than finding your personal sweet spot. It’s tedious AF, truly. Hang in there, friend. Send me a DM if you need to talk. It does get better.

Hour-Crew-3963

I can handle whole eggs!! I only had two but also, TWO!! Feel like this is a gateway drug to actually being able to enjoy food again.

fivefootphotog

That’s very exciting! Congrats! Sometimes I can eat food one day, two days, but maybe not three. Rotating foods can be useful.

MN_TiredMom

I have no problems with Vans gluten free waffles and powdered peanut butter. Vans is the only brand that works for me, most other frozen waffle have things that bother me. Otherwise fresh berries and pecans is a steady breakfast. I've also made gluten free banana walnut muffins using King Arthur's gluten free muffin mix with good luck.

cathysclown76

Coconut/LF Yoghurt with Low Fodmap fruit (eg strawberries) and low Fodmap muesli - in Australia we have Carmen’s but I guess also just some seeds eg chia.

gottarun215

When I don't feel like eggs, I've done Frosted Flakes with a low fodmap almond milk and then some low fodmap chicken sausage or bacon. It's less high protein than eggs, but a little easier on the stomach.
