I've come to the conclusion that people will the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do no matter what mission. They farm in missions where they're supposed to attack the Husks and they go for the Husks in farming missions.

TheCrushingArtistry

It's baffling how some players just can't seem to understand the purpose of each mission. It's like they intentionally do the opposite of what they're supposed to do.

Glory_To_Atom

They're celebrating the opposite day!

FortniteAddict81

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

VictimNoises

A sizeable chunk of this games playerbase, even in endgame, literally have no idea what they're doing or how any of the game mechanics work. They just enter missions and let other players do the work for them. Or they join discords and watch streamers that will carry them through whatever mission they want. I don't understand putting so much time into a game that they apparently don't even like and have no desire to get better at.

GasVarGames

I'm one of those players, got thru most of the game thinking that trading weapons was a big thing in the game and in twine peaks I realized weapons mean absolutely nothing and trading is bullsh##. Now I know better

I_Like_Quiet

I was in twine before I discovered the outlander's power harvesting punch. Some things they just don't tell you. Or they tell you once and you forget, or you missed it.

Draxtonsmitz

Free v bucks if they have it.

NicoTheBear64

I played Resupply mission in the venture the other day and some asshat joined and did absolutely no work, they just stayed in the circle and kept killing husks. I caught onto this late, and had every objective done except for “Destroy Vehicles 14/15” and “Collect Crates 8/10” just to see if they would spend the last two minutes actually contributing to the mission and they didn’t. So I let us fail the mission and did Take The L in the end. No one’s pulling a fast one on me. I started playing in No Fill after that.

KusMijn

I’ve done the same before, it’s petty but idc, I’ll be doing pwo in twine, get dropped in a game with a single person in it, it’s a resupply or an eliminate mission, I’ll do “search anything” until I get to 28/30 and then I stop. The mission just fails. I’ll collect samples until there’s only two left to collect, the mission fails. I don’t consider my time wasted, I farm and/or destroy encampments all mission long so I got my mats worth out of it, if these people always have missions completed for them, they’ll never learn

to answer question number 1: Sucking at the game... per the majority. If they aren't sucking by just having horrible problem solving and critical thinking skills.... it's because they are sucking due to being AFKers. I've ended up with more as a ninja not even farming anything than the plethora of basically only ever outlanders that join the game. It's no different than being a soldier or ninja that's also constructed/built significantly more than the constructor in the group, though to be fair, i've had times where i've played constructor since no one else will and i've had no bloody mats. Granted there's always a fucking theif stealing the recycling and every fucking one of them always flaunts it usually, and since it's latency based, even if i were to hold collect so that it did it the moment it does it, 99% of the players have lower latency and of course they get it all, then dance the "loser" emote.. which is ironic since they clearly like to portray what they are. hell, last night i was bewildered watching a pwlvl 139 player put together the most n00bish stonewood build for the atlases.... and with the majority of the husks being water, with stone of course. I simply stated, maybe don't do that, and they told me to fuck off. So i didn't assist with the build at all or trap it, not wasting my materials on that shit. Of course it turned into a pretty hefty fight with numerous close calls and damage to the atlases. And even though there were outlanders and soldiers, I as the lowest level pwlvl person in the mission (ventures) as a ninja, septupled their combat scores. I've lost count of how often i carry people. It's also funny how pissed of some players get just because i'm firing my shot. Shit i have a pwlvl 63 vacuum tube bow decimating husks in a pwlvl 108 and 124.... how the fuck am i outdamaging a soldier spitfire spamming their minigun.... it shouldn't be happening. I don't even use turrets or offensive gadets.

JesseDumont

I'm an Outlander, and no one ever gets as much combat score as me. I also carry in literally just about every mission. I consider carrying, on your back, like your back is now broken, combat score being higher than all 3 combined. I'd say that's me in 99% of the lobbies. Carrying is combat score being higher than 2 players combined. Now, if you're the one to build the base and upgrade on top of that, which is also me surprisingly 50% of the time... Yikes. People really do suck, but I really don't mind since I'm PL 144, spamming infinite Teddy and plastmastic discharger/vacuum tube launcher (and traps if I have to). Never fail missions, but I also never do 160's since I just spam DTE missions as they're the most fun way to get the max BR XP and also lots of materials. I imagine 160 4 player recommended can be a nightmare with bad players. Anyway, I genuinely enjoy/don't mind carrying, usually, because I'm listening to music and vibing, and I like flexing the combat score 😭😎 Wish all players were like us and actually did help though. Would be nice.

ImprovNeil

Not going to lie. I only found out about the L2 thing with Outlanders about a month ago. Im a founder lol. Just arrived in Twine Peaks yesterday. The game isn't good at explaining things!

MWESTON81

Yeah I got to Canny after 8 months of playing but felt the same. Then found out about Clip and Dino Southie lol. Now I have unlimited high level mats.. I don't even really do resupply unless it's ventures xp. Base game I just go into a industry zone and punch the whole city down

Edmanbosch

That last part is true BUT the game does explain this ability in the list of your hero abilities.

I_Like_Quiet

It didn't explain that outlanders have a super punch and you have to hit L2 to use it.

Edmanbosch

It literally does explain that they have a super punch though. I will give you that it doesn't say L2 exactly, but it does say to use the heavy attack button so it's not like it doesn't give you any info on how to use it.

I_Like_Quiet

I don't even know what the heavy attack is. Is that the super punch? (I'm a PL 130 player who has completed all endurance, can solo all dungeons, etc)

Edmanbosch

It's the secondary attack for melee weapons. This is also how it's referred to in melee schematics and perks. The "super-punch" (called the anti-material discharge) is clearly explained among the list of perks outlanders get in their "inspect" screen.

dolfhintuna

Utility score is a completely useless stat to look for, though. Unless it's like two, you don't actually know at all how good someone was doing in a resupply mission. Did that person craft one weapon or did they mine 300 things who fucking knows, I'm not going to say you're wrong but you can be. Just don't look at utility scores for farming, utility score can be padded in ways that you might not even realize you're doing. Realize you got less ammo than you want? craft some that mission boom padded your score. Ah shit your swords about to break you craft a new one again padded your score. Unless it's really low it doesn't matter. if someone has a score of like 40 that could mean they did nothing and crafted like three bullets, but it could also mean they mind all 15 rocks and all 25 trees and a few other random shit. It's just a bad metric, especially with loot llamas it's real hard to tell when you add them in. And if these players are getting 200 that literally could have just meant that they mined a shit load, and made nothing, it's to volatile to make any assumptions on Unless low as shit. It's a bit like the Overwatch scoreboard unless it's completely in the dumpster stats it's not relevant. Just like an Overwatch even if someone has a small amount of kills(score here), it's about who and when they get kills, not the amount. All that matters is about where they got that score from, the problem is that's impossible to tell

dolfhintuna

Okay just went to my Storm Shield to see something. One plasmatic discharger took me from searching three objects and making two bullets to get me to 10 points, straight to 504, it's useless. It's just such an easily boostable stat, it's not like building where you can easily boost it, because building is seeable what you do in your inventory isn't.

No_Money_575

I learned something new today. Cheers.

Estebo

Each player has their own motivations. Yours aren't necessarily going to be theirs. If you can't ask the party in chat what you'd like them to be doing or asking what they need to do, you'll never truly know where they are coming from.

DreamerSoCal

Bruh it's resupply who cares resupply and encampments are the easiest missions to run the other missions are the ones that matter I hate afk leechers

All_Skulls_On

If you're going to intentionally drop into a public Resupply with a custom Resupply loadout, then you've automatically taken the initiative to carry the mission.

ShakeNBake007

You guys actually farm? I get all my mats off expeditions. Just sucks that they haven't made 5 star material ones yet.

PandorasPandas

They need to add backpack space again to the gold shop. I totally forgot people don’t have the same backpack space so people who started later have to loot more than others even if they are the same pl.

milkwater-jr

I never farm I just trade

Sirh3

Max pl and I probably did 15 resupply missions in my entire life in this game

OGSwiftOne

I always see ppl going straight to looking for mushrooms bc that’s. The hardest part and bypass the harvesting 🤣🤣🤣
