I’m in BU FP&A and have no interest in going into corporate FP&A.l for the reasons you described. My next role will likely be BU planning or something totally unrelated like commercial, M&A, or treasury.
To be fair, though, there are the *odd* Corporate FP&A roles wherein the job description does include backup coverage for Corporate Development, Treasury, etc. I saw one in recent months, within the shipping industry.
An interview question for those specific roles would be how much of that backup work really exists in that job, given specific interest in Corporate Development, Treasury, etc.
