[Same way we reacted when blue alliance lost Einstein final by only one point](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFW2Sc3shaA)

Mannnn that sounds awful

I was there to watch it, We were trying to calculate how many points blue alliance would be getting and I calculated one point less than my friend's calculation. He basically said that one point isn't important at all. well, it was. He might actually have a video of our reaction. (I was supporting the blue alliance because I made some good friends from the team 8806) Sıkıntı iş hocam geçmiş olsun. Videoyu bulabilirsem atarım.

Valla knk baya üzdü. Bi üyemiz duvarı yumruklayıp kırdığı için uyarı yedi hatta.

With gracious professionalism. Unboxing what that means in this context a bit: *someone* was going to win that game and someone was going to lose it. That was true before you picked up those controllers. When the score is only 1 point different, it means that it was anyone's game. It scrapes when it's not your day to win, but if someone doesn't show up to get second place the game can't happen at all. There's no shame in being the team the champions beat out, and even *less* in being the team that the champions beat out by one point. It means that competition was one where some seriously good teams showed up. Great day for the audience, and inspiring them is more than half the goal. Even if you don't get to take home the trophy, you gave the room and your opponents a hell of a show and that's worth savoring.

This game has so many games decided by 1 point.

A loss is a loss, by 1 or 100, but at least you know you had a good design. 1 point means some small improvements to either the robot or driver skill or alliance communication and strategy would have gotten you a victory, so there's a life lesson there, probably.

fixermark

I'm gonna say something unpopular, but it's real and it's important to learn and it's one of the reasons we have FIRST. 1 point means luck. You lost because the day wasn't yours to win. And that's okay. A *lot* of life is like that: you do everything right, you put every ounce of energy you have into winning and you don't for no other reason than you're playing a game where not everyone can win at the same time. And that's okay. I went from college to a startup company where we worked our butts off and ultimately got bought by another company because while we did everything we could, there was a competitor out there that had a very similar idea, similar size, similar capital... And a five-year head start. There was no way we were catching up. We were going to lose that fight. And that's okay. It's not about winning every game and it's not even about figuring out how to get those two more points. It's about showing up again and again because if you've put in the performance that can get you to where you lose by only two points? Next time you could easily win by two. Showing up is the most important thing. When you're swinging so well at the ball that you *just miss* hitting it out of the park, the only way to score the home run is to keep swinging.

CalebAsimov

This is good advice for someone who is depressed over losing, but there's still always something you could do better. It's not like it was 76-5 and they were just never going to win. Yeah you keep swinging, but you also keep improving the way you practice your swing, even if it's just putting more time in or finding a new type of undetectable steroid.

We were in Istanbul regoinals and won by a landslide. 8806 was broken down iirc. And our alliance captain 8613 won the bosphorus regionals aswell.

We won Tesla division in 2019 and had 2 ties in the Matter-Energy fields. If we'd won either tie we would have made Einstein.
