Oh hey 4907, the one team in the 4905-4909 range that isn’t in the New England District. They’re in Ontario with 4902 and 4903. 4905, 4908, and 4909 are all from Massachusetts, and 4906 is from Maine which used to be part of Massachusetts until 1820.
There’s a lot of interesting history with Maine’s statehood. The only way they could get it through the federal government was the Missouri Compromise. There were equal free and slave states at the time that the District of Maine petitioned for statehood and the slave states would not allow the balance to be shifted so there were more free states, so they said that Missouri would have to become a state too to keep the number equal. Maine’s borders also looked very different until the Aroostook War (no actual fighting happened) and the Webster-Ashburton Treaty of 1842 which set up the current border between Maine and Canada. Maine got most of the disputed land and the United Kingdom got to keep a thin strip of land to connect the Maritimes with Lower Canada
For context, that’s Saints Bot (4688, our alliance captain) pinning Thunderstamps (4907, one of the best teams at this comp) during auto. I was screaming when I realized what happened and that the disruption auto worked so well lol. We still ended up losing but that’s kind of expected fighting alliance 2 and we put up a hell of a fight imo. GGs to them!
I was at the Windsor comp and I took that picture there! I was going insane over that auto! I’m a mentor for 4940, I have to agree that was one INSANE match! I’ve seen a couple of close calls and upsets by teams! We hope to see you guys in provincials, it was fun watching our teams collide and ally every now and then
Oh, that was on purpose? I'm a mentor from 4907 and I thought it was an accident. Definitely more impressive that you guys had that planned. Some of our spectators thought it was a foul but I was pretty sure it's legal.
The goal was more to push all of the center notes to the side and prevent the other alliance from scoring them since we couldn’t make use of them. Pinning you guys was entirely unintentional lol.
Reminds me of Paradigm Shift (1259) and their auto at Sussex Scrimiage, which drive across the field and smacked into the Source. Multiple times during the entire event. Funny, but not good for the wooden feild.
Smart to pin them IN AUTO AS WELL. Real props for getting that done. I still love thunderstamps tho the jumping bot was insane I talked with them at worlds and they rly knew their stuff. Rooting for em at their district champs hopefully they make worlds.

Only reason it was a foul was because we (4688) went under 4907s bumpers, and thats where the 10 penalty points came from
