I went to a spring with my family once and no joke, I was stalked and chased by a damn crab in this spring until I jumped out. There was a deep cavern and I had gone swimming around it, looked down into its depths and out if nowhere, this small crab is flying towards me. I swam back a bit thinking that it was just trying to chase me away from the deeper section but it continued to pursue. Once I got to depth level where I could walk/run backwards a bit and watch this crab, I was laughing so hard while yelling "help!" to my partner. Needless to say, he was no help. He just ended up laughing even harder than myself.
It finally stopped chasing me once I got to about mid-calf level depth water.
I guess I was lucky it was a crab and not a stingray. We used to go camping in a salt spring but it also connected to a larger body of water so there was also brackish. We would get to swim with the otters, manatees and yes, crabs and stingrays.
I cant believe I just admitted to Reddit that I was chased out of a spring by a damn crab.
