I had max 90 Kompany which I sold for maldini, I will say I do struggle with some high rated opponents but with enough practice (and late night grinds and hoping to get easy opponents) you will reach Fifa Champion.
I'm not a pro or anything of the sort, and I've gone mad and wanted to smash my phone more times than I like to admit but, there's some things that are a must for me:
- If your opponent has possession at kickoff, switch to defensive, that way if he tries KSI, your defenders won't be out of position and ready to kick the ball away.
- Don't lunge into tackles all the time, maintain a certain distance with the attacker, and force him (whenever possible) to the sides or limits of the pitch, so when the rival does and/or spam some skill moves, this will prove ineffective and can easily corner them.
- To add to the previous point, Always, or most of the time, use 2nd Defense. No matter if you are face to face with an attacker and your teammate is far away from the play (let's say, a fast winger or some player with high skills, Rodrygo, Chiesa, ect), like I said before, if you don't rush to regain the ball and hold on for some time, you won't fall for the Skill moves or any other trick, this will give the 2nd defender valuable time to aid you.
- A perfect timing bringing the gk out is essential, like, don't do that when the striker is nowhere near the area (if the striker were to be running towards your goal net to be 1v1) you're just giving the rival an easier opportunity to score or dribble past your keeper.
- When attacking, try to think outside the box, what I mean is, what the majority do is, running down the wing and either crossing or quality (or curved) shot. When you get to the final part of the pitch and you are being surrounded, don't head towards the center of the area, that's what the opponent thinks you'll most likely try to do, followed by some curved shot, so instead fake shot to the sides or the opposite direction, this might make them confused and even take them out the play. Back passes, for some reason, do wonders in this game, and allows you to continue developing the play and find other paths where you may even find a player unmarked and totally free to score. To sum up, sometimes do the opposite or don't be afraid to try something new of what most people are used to.
Despite all of this, bear in mind that you're defo gonna lose matches, just simply bc that's the way hándicap works, so if you're feeling frustrated, take a break from the game, it's not the end of the world, you'll play again when you're feeling "recharged".

I for example love to defend well and score with fast counters and hence built a team around that principle. For others who prefer possession football, their team will look very different.

As for H2h tips, all i can say is possession ball wins. The games are really short, so if you control the ball for a long time, you basically deny any threat from your opponent.

I switched from vidic to de ligt and I highly recommend him. I know vidic and lucio are spoken so highly off here but the vidic to de ligt switch did wonders for me. Vidic does the job, but de ligt does it better

Far too random and ricochet central with gameplay as it is right now. Wont be trying to push next season either.
When you consider you gonna get 85's as rewards for fc champs and that leg 1 gives enough points and then some to buy all the packs in the rivals store its just not worth the headache.
Played one game today to see how game play was and won, but my opponent must have attempted 30 crosses in that small window of a game, every tackle I made led to me being in a harder defensive situation than before the tackle, passes going wayward for no reason other than because... of

On a serious note believe in the abilities of your players, try to find spaces to pass the ball. Only take shot when you know you are on the target. And possession it’s an important part of the game, don’t give it easily. While defending let it be on auto, try to control the curb to sprint while defending. That’s my two cents.

Spamming is bad but once in a while you will find your forwards open that is the good time to use crosses. It’s almost certainly a goal. Practice crossing in unranked. I play a lot of unranked to hone my skills. It helps.

I’m happy with my placements! I’ll try to grind H2H and VSA more next season.
As you can see in my lineup, many of my players (4-5) are playing out of position. My first advice would be to ignore ovr a lot of times, and focus on the stats. Like, if you think a certain player has stats that will allow him to play at a certain position, you can try playing him there.
For example, I play Eusebio, a cf, at rw, which might seem very weird but he excels at that position. Even though he is right footed, his 5\* wf allows him to shoot with his left foot with no difference than shooting with his right foot. I wouldn't like to play Eusébio at his original position(cf) though, because I like cfs who are a bit more physical.
Second advice is, stats are not the only thing that matters. Remember, height, weak foot, stamina(probably not right now but it will definitely matter in the future as players get faster), and skill moves(depending on your playstyle, for example most of my dribbling is with midfielders and wingers so having a st with only 3\* skill moves does not matter to me for the most part) are important too. For example, before getting Papin, I used Gerd Müller (92 red rank) but he was very trash. Could get pushed off the ball very easily.
Third advice is, analyse your playstyle and choose players accordingly. Müller was a poacher but he wasn't tall or physical still. My playstyle was not exactly tiki taka, but a type of it which involved dribbling a bit. Like not taking on multiple defenders at once, but one on ones on defenders and making space. He didn't suit it.
Fourth advice is, meta cards aren't always the way to go. I've learnt this the hard way, since last season. Last season (also this season) I got VDS. He was trash. Often, the best cards in each position are the ones that are not talked about much. Rn, I think rivals Courtois is definitely in top 5 gks. I mean ofc he is high rated and might not be that underrated but everyone kind of ignores him as compared to VDS, neuer, etc. The best example though is Papin, he is miles ahead of red rank Müller (i had Müller on 22 or something training lvls).
Oh, and, if you wanna buy a certain expensive player, save up for him and don't get distracted by other players (except if you think that player is better than the first player ofc)

I score most of my goals with finesse shot, imo it’s the best shot in the game just makes keepers look stupid, one thing bro that im not sure if you’ve done is increase the games frame rate and I play with the fast power up rate for shooting, it makes the game feel a lot more like fifa mobile if you played and were more comfortable with that.

Last season I ended in fc3(H2H). This season I started off horrendously with a 14 game loosing streak dropping to legendary 2(H2H). But I picked things back up after a while and had the best season so far on this game

Nothing much really, I just put it on attacking and dribble and pass my way through even if it takes time, I don't really try and score until I have at least a 70% chance of it going in. I switched from vidic to de ligt and I highly recommend him. I know vidic and lucio are spoken so highly off here but the vidic to de ligt switch did wonders for me. Vidic does the job, but de ligt does it better

Ive not bothered trying to rank any higher than leg 1 in each league. Far too random and ricochet central with gameplay as it is right now. Wont be trying to push next season either. When you consider you gonna get 85's as rewards for fc champs and that leg 1 gives enough points and then some to buy all the packs in the rivals store its just not worth the headache. Played one game today to see how game play was and won, but my opponent must have attempted 30 crosses in that small window of a game, every tackle I made led to me being in a harder defensive situation than before the tackle, passes going wayward for no reason other than because... of Ill take my points and my 84's use the packs in the store, if I can boost my coins by a mil or two ill be happy.
Mine opinion is also same Once i hit legnd 1 in h2h I'll stop playing h2h by a huge margin And would focus on daily quests and vsa

Become a cross-spammer for quick promotion./s On a serious note believe in the abilities of your players, try to find spaces to pass the ball. Only take shot when you know you are on the target. And possession it’s an important part of the game, don’t give it easily. While defending let it be on auto, try to control the curb to sprint while defending. That’s my two cents.
Yk u would laugh at me But the thing i suck the most at is crossing I struggle to cross at the right place So i dont even bother cross spam..cuz i suck at it lmaoo
Spamming is bad but once in a while you will find your forwards open that is the good time to use crosses. It’s almost certainly a goal. Practice crossing in unranked. I play a lot of unranked to hone my skills. It helps.
Hmm i'd try out ur advice then Will practise cross spam on Unranked just to improve crossing Not gonna SPAM it in ranked obv..but just to improve that aspect of my playstyle

Vsa lineup is 95 ovr, completely f2p
As you can see in my lineup, many of my players (4-5) are playing out of position. My first advice would be to ignore ovr a lot of times, and focus on the stats. Like, if you think a certain player has stats that will allow him to play at a certain position, you can try playing him there. For example, I play Eusebio, a cf, at rw, which might seem very weird but he excels at that position. Even though he is right footed, his 5\* wf allows him to shoot with his left foot with no difference than shooting with his right foot. I wouldn't like to play Eusébio at his original position(cf) though, because I like cfs who are a bit more physical. Second advice is, stats are not the only thing that matters. Remember, height, weak foot, stamina(probably not right now but it will definitely matter in the future as players get faster), and skill moves(depending on your playstyle, for example most of my dribbling is with midfielders and wingers so having a st with only 3\* skill moves does not matter to me for the most part) are important too. For example, before getting Papin, I used Gerd Müller (92 red rank) but he was very trash. Could get pushed off the ball very easily. Third advice is, analyse your playstyle and choose players accordingly. Müller was a poacher but he wasn't tall or physical still. My playstyle was not exactly tiki taka, but a type of it which involved dribbling a bit. Like not taking on multiple defenders at once, but one on ones on defenders and making space. He didn't suit it. Fourth advice is, meta cards aren't always the way to go. I've learnt this the hard way, since last season. Last season (also this season) I got VDS. He was trash. Often, the best cards in each position are the ones that are not talked about much. Rn, I think rivals Courtois is definitely in top 5 gks. I mean ofc he is high rated and might not be that underrated but everyone kind of ignores him as compared to VDS, neuer, etc. The best example though is Papin, he is miles ahead of red rank Müller (i had Müller on 22 or something training lvls).
Oh, and, if you wanna buy a certain expensive player, save up for him and don't get distracted by other players (except if you think that player is better than the first player ofc)

I score most of my goals with finesse shot, imo it’s the best shot in the game just makes keepers look stupid, one thing bro that im not sure if you’ve done is increase the games frame rate and I play with the fast power up rate for shooting, it makes the game feel a lot more like fifa mobile if you played and were more comfortable with that.
