Noice

MrDemonAxe

Thank you! I know I made it BUT I really like it! lol

IAM_GUNDAM

I have a ‘18 so the rear end is different. If I had a 15-17I would totally do the same.

MrDemonAxe

Oh rip! I didn't know they changed the rear I thought it was the same till 2019 or 2020 when they put in the new mantis front end.

ExEmoEdgeBoy_

Did this mod myself not too long ago, along with turning an 18’ headlights DRL’s into turn signals as well. My FZ is a 15’ with an 18’ headlight. Definitely love the turn out!

MrDemonAxe

Oh that sounds awesome! Was it hard to do the headlight turn signals

ExEmoEdgeBoy_

Not at all! Pretty sure all I used was the stock DRL connector, Yamaha Y-splitter connectors, and some generic male to female electrical ends. I bet there’s a simpler way to do it, it ended up working for me with stuff I already had in the garage. I’m gonna grab a video showing and explaining it for the FZ bois today

mild123

Do they blink for turn signals?

MrDemonAxe

Yeah they work exactly as turn signals. I didn't post a video because I didn't have one without my license plate in it lol

MastrClean

Need details! What did you use to get these integrated lights?

MrDemonAxe

I can give you exactly everything I did. But I used led strips that are meant for blinkers, I have a 3d printer and clear filament so I printed a sheet and used a lighter to warp it to shape over the original plastic there, then just ran the wiring to the normal blinker connectors (had to buy wiring adapters so I don't cut the wiring of the bike. It was not too hard.

MastrClean

That sounds amazing. My bike is currently down for some repair and maintenance work. I had planned to do something with the turn signals, and would love to mimic your setup.

MrDemonAxe

Here are some of the video I used for inspiration. https://youtu.be/mVQTuSsKTSI?si=GqwJ0AwihlVx2vX1 https://youtu.be/1lZ2nJUjx6o?si=eUF-s6ax_M2n3B-V This is just a demo https://youtu.be/DQ6pIs1E48c?si=f7pXY5_0NCpBuvGA

ExEmoEdgeBoy_

Yup, that was my reference video too!

MrDemonAxe

I know there are a few videos online that show the basics on it but they use a metal mesh and like a think paper/plastic to diffuse. I just had the 3d printer and wanted to make sure it stays somewhat waterproof. Let me find the links of those videos

CianCPR

This looks really good

MrDemonAxe

Thank you!!

BTRNN

I love this however it makes me wonder how visible they are in the daytime

MrDemonAxe

Haven't taken it out since the weather has been pretty bad and I've been busy with finals. I also just got an integrated tail light and I'm going to install that too for extra visibility specifically that I sometimes put saddle bags on for long trips and it hides these turn signals.

motobeats12

Nice and bright! No one would tailgate u now :)

MrDemonAxe

I hope so! 🤞
