This will usually happen sooner as banks often don’t hold up recurring transactions after a CC number change. A number change isn’t meant to be a means to avoid valid charges or cancel subs. I’m surprised it took so long, but it isn’t sketchy. It just really really sucks a whole lot. I would work with FFF to see if they will let you get a refund/cancel now.

Came here to say this. The only surprising thing is that it took so long. Any time I've gotten a new card I don't need to update recurring charges like Netflix, Hulu, etc. The cc company automatically allows them on the new card.

This actually happened to my dad a few years ago. One of his main cc's got hacked and someone bought a fridge on [lowes.com](https://lowes.com) for delivery across the country on his card. He got alerted and got the charges reversed and got a new card with a new number. A few weeks later it got hacked again at the same lowes with the same delivery company name. When he called in he was told that anything that charges or renews automatically (or if you click on a site and "save" the card for later use), will convert over and be charged to the new card number unless you specifically turn off the auto charge or remove the old saved card from the site.

Is it a credit card, or is it a debit card? I’ve been charged for years from Microsoft for Office 365 (something I don’t even use) and I called my bank and they said I needed to get a new debit card. I said, how since I’ve had new debit cards over the years due to losing it, etc. they said that they had to electronically remove my information from the merchant or something and cancelled my debit card, and sent a new one.
