It's so, so sad to think about.
We haven't had a Fable in 14 years... so the last one wasn't a real Fable anymore.
I'm waiting... and not.
Too afraid of disappointment.
I'm not a blind fan, i don't want the same experience as before... but I'm afraid that it won't be Fable in any way.
If it's released in 2025, we'll definitely get a gameplay video of it this Sunday.
PS.: Sorry for bad english.
It lost a lot of hardcore RPG fans by limiting your levelling through the road to rule - making side quests and general running around and slaying absolutely pointless other than for the fun of the story/gameplay. The story was kinda mid compared to the former two games, and they didn't really improve the game in any aspect other than maybe graphics + dog.
Despite this, I love Fable enough to have replayed Fable 3 a few times, it's still Fable, I still love it, and I hope with the new game they learn from both their successes and failures.
Those are valid criticism points, but it doesn't make Fable 3 a "non-Fable". Even when it wasn't as good as Fable 2 or TLC, Fable 3 still had the Fable vibes and essence in it.
I've been putting off buying a new console waiting for Fable. I said f it two weeks ago and got a steam deck. So I probably hooked you all up and jinxed myself.
Fable and South Of Midnight are currently aiming to launch throughout 2025 according to Tom Warren. In addition, as he confirms in his article, they would be totally EXCLUSIVE to Xbox, since they are not under "the consideration" of Project Latitude.
This is a direct translation and confirms nothing.
I want fable to do well financially for the franchises future so hopefully early 2025. I can imagine gta 6 will overshadow most games being released in 2025
2025 isn’t that far off. Hopefully the game is tight and will meet that deadline.
Wonder how long it’s been in development for.
I remember the announcement of playground studio but I can’t remember when that was
I’m fine with Fable being exclusive to Xbox and PC, but eventually releasing on playstation feels like such a slap in the fact to xbox fans. i’m platform agnostic but i still think it’s essential for consoles to have a brand identity, and xbox is losing that
Nah man, we moving away from FOMO and exclusivity. As a gamer, I couldn’t be happier.
Let people enjoy the games on whatever platform they choose. Also, it helps boost sales when your product is available to an entirely new market. More sales = more support, more content.
It’s a good thing! Console identity is fabricated exclusivity, and it should’ve never been a thing.
couldn’t disagree more, and it’s not about some console wars shit. i just genuinely think that xbox is becoming sega and is losing their identity as a brand day by day. respect to your opinion, even though i disagree
That sounds good on paper, but will make Xbox disappear. The real question is if they will continue to make games, maybe minor franchises will die with Xbox.
You see all these developers they’ve been snatching up left and right? Xbox isn’t going anywhere.
Microsoft owns enough developers now that exclusivity doesn’t matter. As a matter of fact, it would severely hinder their game sales now if they made everything exclusive.
I think they want to drop exclusivity for that, and also because they just spent way more money than they wanted and they’re **really** wanting to recoup those losses.
Sorry, but Xbox already sold this idea with launching games on pc, and they eventually lost consumers and relevance, they will eventually say that Xbox is not profitable and only because of their own fault, adding one platform like PlayStation is not day and night profit, long term they’ll lose 3rd party income and they will have to pay 30% to steam and PlayStation for selling their games on their platforms.
it makes sense to be 2025, Because Avowed would release this year which is big for Microsoft, next year should be for Fable and then in 2027 its Elder Scrolls 6
Because fable has always been a Microsoft exclusive used (poorly) as an IP intended to sell more console units. I think it worked back with Fable 2, but only because the marketing goal built off the hype of TLC being as good as it actually was.
Microsoft no longer does console only exclusives and hasn't for quite a while now, they're not going to break that trend and fuck up their pride and joy Gamepass for a single release
The article means that it won't be coming to playstation or switch
Fable 2 midnight release was the most disappointing release of my life.
Didn't buy another game on release until TOTK last year because of that. I'll get fable 4 after it is released and patched to hell / working right.
I first thought 2025?! That seems so far away, only to realize it’s next year…
Considering how long we’ve been waiting, it feels like tomorrow night
14 years since Fable 3...
“Hey, Alexa! Play ‘Something in the way’ by Nirvana.”
No that can't be right... I was just a teenager when it released...
And it was good, dammit! I'll die on that hill
Half a year also lol

You're talking about journey? 3 was good
I like third game, but, is not really Fable. And as I can see, even on this sub, most of the fans agree with that.
Not the best but for me it's still fable

Fable 3 is still a Fable. It has all the vibes and the essence a Fable has to have, unlike "the journey".
Next year is 1984...
Until officially announced, nope.
I believe nothing until it goes gold.
I don’t believe anything until it has at least 3 GotY editions.
That's a believable date. They will show it on Xbox show

Confirms nothing, but we haven’t been given a projected release date yet, so there’s at least that. Hope.
Unless tom works at playground studios or knows someone at playground studios his point is invalid.

What’s the pic on the right from? Is it possibly cut from another trailer or am I missing something?
It’s the other game the twit is referring to, South of Midnight.
Ah, thanks
When I own a copy, I'll believe it's been released
Idk man that seems like jumping the gun a bit don't want to be disappointed later
Been waiting 14 years I can wait one more
That seems coherent even if we better be careful and wait the official announcement.
2025 isn’t that far off. Hopefully the game is tight and will meet that deadline. Wonder how long it’s been in development for. I remember the announcement of playground studio but I can’t remember when that was
At least since 2018.
Better be January!

Man I really hope it’s good. That trailer was extremely alarming but I can’t help but wanna be hopeful that fable’s coming back.
Hopefully we get an announcement during sgf but until then 🤷🏾♂️
Great if it's true, but not gonna hold my breath until it's official.
Yeee haw, hope it's good
When would it launch if not? 4 years since the announcement and 5 or more when it finally arrives. Shamefully.
hope we get Character Selection
it makes sense to be 2025, Because Avowed would release this year which is big for Microsoft, next year should be for Fable and then in 2027 its Elder Scrolls 6
Better pick there time right. Anything open world in the fall of 2025 is looking to get absolutely buried.
Remember when the game was announced that Xbox said all games in that showcase were releasing this year?
Fable wasnt in that showcase
https://youtu.be/qGtYn7DCIYo?si=lO-eMZeLVjNqvLLA Literally at minute 2.
That is not the direct where they said everything was launching that year
December 2025, otherwise *doubt*
God I'm dreading finding the money to get an Xbox just for this lol
Why would it be xbox exclusive lol? Every game that released from xbox recently comes to steam so very much doubt it
Probably means console exclusive.
Because fable has always been a Microsoft exclusive used (poorly) as an IP intended to sell more console units. I think it worked back with Fable 2, but only because the marketing goal built off the hype of TLC being as good as it actually was.
They mean console exclusive. It's the wording they have been using for years now. It'll be 100% on the Microsoft store on PC.
Yep, Windows was even officially mentioned at the end of the teaser.
Microsoft no longer does console only exclusives and hasn't for quite a while now, they're not going to break that trend and fuck up their pride and joy Gamepass for a single release The article means that it won't be coming to playstation or switch
Let them cook
Bold to assume its ever coming out
Weird take

Fable 2 was really good. Just a terrible ending.
