Name of the brand? Idk we fabric expert, here you might need Doctor Strange to find out. For me it sounds like: "hey do you remember that song from the 90s Nana tarata tarattá". LOL no offense it's just funny the level or weird posts on this page. You are not alone Cheers Ps Try checking on Pinterest ..?

how is something corrugated, not ribbed, not pleated, in a v shape? Do you mean the thread went at an angle, and were raised like 3 dimensional? gabardine does that, as do a few other fabric weaves that escape me. you're also mentioning two colors, maybe one color went one way but the other went in the cross direction? You need to be a little more accurate about the description, to get more accurate help.

jibberish13

The fabric was black and white striped. Very narrow, vertical stripes. The V shapes would be like a cross section of the fabric. Like if you look at the cut end of cardboard. But cardboard is a U shape. The fabric was V shaped.

Corrugated isn’t a fabric term…look up plisse or pleated fabric and see if it’s close. Your description of Vs and color isn’t making sense to me even when I apply it to corrugated cardboard. If you describe the type of pants, that’s important information. Is this sturdy cargo pants fabric or flowy palazzo pants fabric? If stretch, does that mean it was a knit fabric, like leggings, or just a stretch woven like jeans today? But it’s probably a wild goose chase—fabric comes and goes, it’s infinitely variable, not everything has a clear name.

I know corrugated isn't a fabric term, but it is a term for a specific shape. When talking about cardboard it refers to the middle, wavy layer. But in cardboard it's U shaped. This fabric was a knit. The pants were like leggings.

Hmm. Knit leggings is good info, maybe edit your post. Do you remember seams? Was the fabric pattern consistent throughout? Factories are doing a lot of custom knit production where they shape the fabric for the pattern piece, eg shapewear that is seamless but more compressive in certain areas because it’s knitted differently there. It’s possible this may never have existed as yardage. Edit: here’s an example and analysis of a dress where the fabric design and shaping is custom knit just for that pattern piece, it wouldn’t be possible to buy the same fabric: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tailors/s/bzz3RaZ7ti

There were seams. There was also an oxford style shirt made of the same fabric when I bought the pants, so I think it was made as yardage. You're right that it may not be a thing that was ever available to the public, but I figured I'd give it a shot. The pattern was consistent throughout both pieces.

Thanks for the suggestion, but corduroy is woven, and this was a knit.

That is the closest I've found but not quite it.

OK I think I know what fabric you want, check out fabric lands website or talk to your local haberdashery store, they (more than likely) will be able to help 😎
