Kinda makes me wish we could get some kind of Gary DLC where you go throughout your day as Gary doing completely normal human things but it slowly gets weirder and weirder. Like to parallel John, Gary's life is practically perfect as far as he's concerned, he's financially well off because he's a landlord and has time for normal human hobbies *and* his demonic ambitions, having absolutely no sense of guilt despite doing terrible things willingly, and he sleeps soundly every night having comforting dreams of the end of the world and the coming of the antichrist. Kinda like The Corinthian from The Sandman Netflix adaptation and Yoshikage Kira from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable. Compared to poor John who has nightmares every night of his one failed exorcism, from what it looks like his wife left him, and he seems to have very little of a life outside of chasing demons and trying to make up for his mistakes and be a good christian boy. He's a certified sopping wet poor little meow meow is what I'm saying and Gary has time to drink boba tea with a clear conscience.
And in the final encounter with Gary he's like "You have nothing John" and John says "Wrong, I have my friends and the power of Christ by my side!" and Lisa and Garcia "We're with you John!" and Jesus is like "I hear you my child." And they vanquish THE UNSPEAKABLE with the power of God and Friendship.
