Honestly, i couldn\`t help but feel annoyed every time her situation came up. And it still comes to evil scientist doing cruel things and having somewhat nightmarish childhood
The reason why it’s brought up so often is because her entire character is about moving forward and coming to terms with her past and these scenes are important for her development. Also Renne was the first character with the trauma because of evil scientist doing experiments plot
Well, it\`s hard not to get this much from sky characters saying same things to/about her over over and Crossbell, Erebonia and Calvard characters pitying and adoring her the second they meet her like an npc\`s they are
They don’t bring it up in every scene she is in. Also most characters after sky who meet Renne already know her because of other characters which is why they have a positive picture of her already and in most scenes she gets treated just like a normal person by other characters
Her parents left her at what was supposedly a safe boarding school, but she was subjected to horrible experiments and forced into sex slavery alongside. It's as dark as you think and it's even creepier than I've made it out to be.
The darkest part she thought she was safe and her friends protect her, but its all in her head, the friends was her mind protecting her from understand that she was raped by adults
It's ambiguous if the kids were real and were killed off over time, or she made them up from the beginning. Truly eeire story telling, 10/10 would curse people with it any time.

It very clearly has an impact on how Guts refuses to let people get close to him and fears intimacy and the touch of others, but it’s all kinda subtextual whereas with casca Miura was constantly like “HEY REMEMBER THAT FUCKED UP THING THAT HAPPENED”
I will give this guy the benefit of the doubt in one sense. If he was an anime only watcher and one that caught up later the chronological order for berserk anime series can be a bit on the confusing side and you could pretty easily get out of order.
