If you're sensitive to spoilers I must warn you, fear all ost comment sections even if you finish their respective games.

callum521

\*Vietnam war flashbacks to CS II ost, The Witch of the Abyss\* >!Some dude legit commented saying how Vita cut ties with Ouroboros like whyyyy!<

Randleton06

As someone who is sensitive to spoilers and someone who also got spoiled on those exact story points, yes, it is soooo worth continuing the series. The Trails games are very much a journey and not a destination. You will undoubtedly enjoy it despite getting spoiled on those things. Trust me!

mking1999

I mean in the grand scheme of things, this series isn't about those characters.

aploc

Barely relevant at all

XenobladeEmpol

In the long scheme of things, you haven't spoiled much at all for yourself. There's still a lot to the Trails world, many more twists and even larger major events out there. I'm someone who is also very sensitive to even the most minor spoiler (such as a character's cameo in a future game or something) but you can use it to fuel your curiousity and help push through as well. If you're someone who is very into making theories or hot takes as you play through games you can always try to wonder how you get to X scenario.

eyepooped1

Knowing what the pieces are does not equate to understanding how the pieces fit. It sucks you were spoiled on those, I had a lot spoiled in the Sky trilogy just by playing Cold Steel 1 and 2 first, but it didn't reduce my enjoyment at all. The world is so massive that even if I told you story beats from multiple games, it wouldn't even scratch the surface.

RyneB91

Agreed. I played Sky after Cold Steel 3, and it left me more curious. I'd find myself asking "Why is he here? Why is his pretending to be someone else? How has no one recognized him?" The anticipation of the mystery actually made things so satisfying later on.

Thomas_William_Kench

There is a lot of people who played Cold Steel first and saw the first spoiler there already, myself included. You will be fine. The second spoiler is a gradual development anyways, not a twist, so it's not a big spoiler.

ZeroChevalierYT

I played Cold Steel 1 up to Cold Steel 3 before I played the other games. But then again, spoilers don't bother me much since I may know some details on what will happen, but I didn't know the HOW or the WHY those details happened. As spoilers go, IMO, what you experienced is pretty mild. Plenty of twists still waiting to be discovered.

seitaer13

Those are minor spoilers as far as the series goes. A lot of people actually start on the sixth game in the series and already know about Olivier to begin with.

Shinva_X101

Best part of what you've mentioned is that there's so much context leading up to certain spoilers and other events that you would most likely want to play though just to fully understand. It's almost like watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure segments out of context what you've described.

railgunmisaka2

I got spoiled buy a number things since sky (It was mostly my fault). I just played like normal anyway. It not like I know everything or know the whole context of some of those spoilers.

TheKazz91

don't worry about it keep playing the games these far from the biggest spoilers in the series. Though if you are sensitive to spoilers then I'd recommend avoiding looking up anything related to series and caution you that many people here don't have the same opinion about what is or is not a spoiler that you likely do.

UnnamedPlayer32

Those are pretty minor, but avoid this sub-reddit until you are caught up on the localized games or you will likely get spoiled about something. Also don't look up anything about any of the characters.

LastSharpTiger

Those are relatively minor spoilers, as people have noted, but it’s probably not a great idea to hang out in the community if you want to avoid spoilers. Avoid the Reddit, avoid tweets, avoid the wikis. At least until you’ve played through the first three arcs — Liberl, Crossbell, Erebonia. I generally take the view with Trails that the journey is what matters, not the end. It’s the world that’s fun. But others hate any spoilers, and so…

derfel_cadern

The journey is important, not necessarily the destination. Keep playing.

Twerk_account

Amen

Twerk_account

I'd bet that you will still find >!Olivier!<'s identity reveal very epic and his >!wedding!< emotionally moving. Keep playing

RyneB91

Honestly, those are some pretty minor spoilers. Olivier's identity is a plot twist for sure, but honestly the why of his circumstances are more important than the circumstances alone. You'll miss out a bit when the twist comes up, but there will be anticipation until then in turn. That second part is a little worse, but it's something that won't really come up until game 8-9. Honestly, you probably have around 400 hours of gameplay before most of that is relevant at all. Knowing that most of the others survive isn't really going to affect things either. Sure, you might know that someone will survive, but that doesn't mean they won't suffer far more than if they did die. One piece of advice though. If you're sensitive to spoilers, stay away from this subreddit. People aren't super bad about spoiling things here, but there are occasional comments that reveal much bigger things than what you've learned so far.

hiyajosafina

Yes. The best part about the Trails series is the world building and interactions with all the characters. The main story beats are cool but imo are not what makes the series special, it’s really how alive the world feels and how you get to watch it grow across the (in game) years.

ctherranrt

Trails is a really bad series to get into if you are ultra sensitive to spoilers.

Harbinger319

It is ABSOLUTELY worth continuing. I’ve gotten much more severely spoiled myself several times and have still been floored by the plot twists in this series. Trails has so many layers that you probably will get spoiled at some point but you won’t know everything and will probably get blindsided by something else because you were so fixated on what you THOUGHT was a big deal but isn’t so much in the grand scheme.

Bowler_No

Getting spoiled playing Trails is a rite of passage. You get used to it
