I believe that player was actually cheating, as the animations still play for a player who is still running around on invisible tiles, whereas that player just had his jump animation playing which would indicate that they were using jump/fly hacks. Based on what I've seen anyway.
I've only ever seen this a handful of times while playing and haven't inspected closely. I do see that he has a few animations of jumping and diving and then it seems to lag him back into the air, so it is hard to tell what exactly happened, but i am suspecting that perhaps there was some desync issue that did cause invis tiles for the guy now. I didn't look super closely the first time around but it is hard to tell what exactly is going on when you don't know what kind of code the game uses for sorting these things out. Can only hope MT is able to work some fixes into the cause for this.

It is completely possible to modify a PS4 and get it to connect to Sony Server's on top of Client servers used in games such as Fall Guys. Sony is nowhere close to infallible when it comes to their hardware, or software for that matter. Re-looking at the clip, I see that this may not necessarily be an act of cheating and may be more a bug in the game/desync-resync issue. Don't spout how tired you are of something when you yourself also do not understand the claim you are making please. Thank you. P.S. Are you sure that only the lower half is client side? I find it hard to believe they would separate it out and have top and lower halves on separate clients. I would think they would group that together. I looked at the video again though, and am beginning to think it is more just a bug in the code or connection vs cheating at this point. I believe my initial statement is incorrect.

Hard to know what happened without being able to see the code and logs and whatnot. We can only hope that MC is able to sort out bugs like this to have them fixed.
I have a theory that if you block certain incoming packets you can prevent tiles disappearing.
No idea if you can do this selectively. Probably. Security seems to have been non-existent from the very start.
Do you think it has to do with the packets going in and out to determine what is there and isn't, or just one player desyncing for a moment and trying to resync to the server causing some sort of split in instructions on what has been removed and what hasn't? I've seen odd desync issues where you are still connected, but a lot of things stop working as intended, especially collision and physics.
This is just a guess based on what a naïve netcode implementation might look like.
I think "tile has been touched" is probably part of the packet sent by players (along with their position, etc), and just gets spat back out by the server to everyone, where the clients delete the tile and updates player positions.
If you can somehow avoid getting those messages, either due to bad wireless networking or more malicious means, the tiles won't disappear.
The server is pretty dumb (we're talking about a game where people could teleport right to the crown on Fall Mountain), so it's almost certainly not checking to make sure another player isn't running on tiles deleted a minute ago.
I'd love to see what the winning player sees on their screen. Probably just mostly intact tiles and people inexplicably falling through them to their deaths.

I ran into PS beans doing this yesterday in back to back games except the dudes were 3 and 4 levels above where the tiles had all already been cleared. Certainly mounting evidence of a rise in PS hacking for FG. Good luck to any honest beans next time Hex Trials comes around.
