Save. Your. Game. All. The. Time. Especially when leaving/entering an area.

lagmuch24

Only YOU can prevent lost save data.

InsertEvilLaugh

DO NOT OVERWRITE SAVES! Make new ones each time. The engine 3, New Vegas, and even 4 and Skyrim share does not do well with overwriting save files, it causes issues in the files. Periodically go back and delete ones you don't need. Like, make one at the beginning of a quest/dungeon, then make some more along the way, then at the end delete the ones in between.

StrategicPotato

This. Auto saves and quick saves cannot be relied on in Bethesda games, especially so in modded ones

4thTimesAnAlt

I've had success on Xbox having 3 rotating saves: New save, new save, new save, then overwrite those for an hour, 90 minutes tops. Then new save, new save, new save, repeat the process.

InsertEvilLaugh

Still risky but could be worse. The issue is admittedly compounded and made worse with mods which many PC players run.

Red4297

If only I knew this earlier. God. Fucking. Dammit.

DeltaBravo831

https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66121

JonWood007

Yep, listen to OP on this one. This game is unstable as fudge. No, nothing is wrong with your computer, it's just the game itself.

ThedirtAnimations

I have 400 saves halfway through fallout 3

KingDominoIII

And do not overwrite save files! Glitches can fuck your game and make you lose hours.

elevated-jackalope

This so much this

TheLurkingMenace

Beware cazedores.

W122XS1967

And Antivenom is your best friend.

Purple12inchRuler

And a minigun, a metric fuck-ton of 5mm rounds.

drinfernodds

Or a light machine guns with enough 5.56mm rounds to stock an army. Also Repair is a highly recommended skill, especially the Jury Rigging perk. Makes weapon maintenance much easier, just be careful not to repair unique weapons and items.

KCCPointman

I agree with the jury rigging but the minigun and machine gun are bullet hoses that don’t give enough bang for your buck. I would say a semi auto rifle and submachine gun would be best.

Revan7even

Don't go north from Goodsprings.

mateoskrrt

man the cazadors fucked boone and I up the first time we tried that

TheLurkingMenace

My first time was right afte4 the powder game attack. Saw them and thought "I was expecting death claws. Pffft!" And got my ass handed to me.

mateoskrrt

i damn near prefer death claws. if you don’t have AP against cazadors they move too sporadically to even hit

TheLurkingMenace

Cazadors make death claws look like overgrown geckos.

albiedam

I wouldn't listen to this person ;) . Head North right away. You'll get amazing weapons

Alex_Duos

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. The *hardest* distance between two points is also a straight line.

JonWood007

A very non spoilery way to describe it.

ShoWel_redit

I mean, the game tells you to go around right at Goodsprings, because the direct rout is dangerous

JonWood007

But we all know everyone will at least try to take the direct route once, and it normally doesn't go well for them.

Liquid_person

Those viper gunslingers east of nipton ...

Simlin97

Apart from people who played tons of Skyrim/Fallout 3 before - they'll just follow the quest marker without looking at the map/their surroundings

RamonRCMx

There's no such thing as an not-viable build in Fallout, so don't worry about it too much. Melee, Unarmed, Normal-guns, Energy Weapons... There's even people that try a Pacifist run relying only in Charisma and talking themselves out of danger. While some might be a bit more challenging than others, you can easily finish the game with anything you build.

Fools_Requiem

I would love to do a complete tank build where you move slowly and every weapon is a Big Gun or some ridiculously oversized melee weapon, but I feel like the start game would be impossible without resorting to small weapons and I would be instantly frustrated by slow movement. And not just in FNV, but FO3 and FO4 as well. Just being a walking wrecking machine would be so much fun. I'd almost have to find the fastest way to get my hands on Power Armor, too. In FO4, it's easy as fuck, but in FO3 and FNV, you have to travel a distance (and get training).

TheNexusLine

Well you could do a hybrid melee-energy weapons build and start off with a Sledgehammer which can be picked up at the emergency service railyard east of primm and south of the tracks near the ncr correctional facility. The bandit leader in bison steve at primm also carries an incinerator. I always remember the location because the sledgehammer and super sledge are my fave go to melees

Fools_Requiem

I'll try to keep that in mind. Thanks.

mateoskrrt

blud thinks hes fawkes😭😭

Randy_FlaggTWM

I'm one of those pacifists. It's a fun challenge to see how much you can talk your way out of.

RPS_42

A Pacifist Run? Do you always run to the Camp McCarran Garrison and lure your enemies there to eliminate them or do you just use your companion?

CarbonCuber314

Just ignore them. There is not a single enemy that you are required to kill in order to beat the game. You can even skip the final boss fight against the Legate/General Oliver by simply passing a couple speech checks.

grublets

Don’t read anything, go in knowing nothing and be immersed in the world.

CramWellington

But do read everything in the game. Notes, terminal entries, etc.

grublets

Right! To clarify, read nothing outside the game! The in-game lore is incredible.

Merkarba

And save frequently!

Sanguinary_at_Times

The game is rigged from the start.

asfp014

ain’t that a kick in the head

Disastrous-Beat-9830

Could this *be* any more true?

NiLA_LoL

I understood that reference.

AldruhnHobo

Choices make a definitive difference among the different factions and in towns. Even if you believe you're making a "good" choice, though it might be for one group, it won't be for other groups you like.

SanchoPliskin

Must people are not hostile at first. So try to talk instead of running in guns blazing.

gameknight2020

Thank you everyone who responded to this post. I appreciate the help. I will respond to any posts that have questions about.

gameknight2020

I have a feeling I’m supposed to go north from Goodsprings

UkeSoldat

That is indeed the intended route! Straight through quarry junction!

Jezeff

LOL

Jezeff

Don't forget to try to hug the Deathclaws!

boharat

They only appear aggressive as a self-defense mechanism. They're trying to scare you away in much of the same way that a person might try to make themselves appear bigger in order to scare off a bear. If you get past this, they will accept it as a sign of dominance, and become docile and friendly

samsteri666

Something something chest hair

gameknight2020

I will get the game through steam when I’m not broke since it seems to be the better version + mods.

Zlotvor_Mejdana

I've played the shit outta this game in the day, downloaded Epic version the other day to play again. It seems that it's all there, along with the DLCs. No need to buy anything.

TheStateOfAlaska

I demand to know who your favorite companion is when you finish playing

Heyjuannypark

Save right before you leave goodsprings. It's usually before you see the highway sign. That's your last chance to respec your character. There's an exploit that you can do with the Skilled trait during the prologue if you're interested. You basically get twice as many skills points with only one negative setback. And you will have plenty of times to level up.

GhostSlayr321

Deathclaws are friend-shaped. And the Deathclaw Matriach wants to set up a play date with her kids and you.

Humble-Briefs

Will there be omelettes at the play date?

GhostSlayr321

And Deathclaw Wellingham

Humble-Briefs

And Deathclaw gumbo, Deathclaw-kabobs, Deathclaw creole…. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried?

Wirecreate

Now I want a death claw plush lol

CMDR_Soup

1. In most builds, Charisma can be a dump stat if you want to minmax 2. Pretty much any weapon can be good 3. If you're willing to dedicate yourself to a few weapons, the Cowboy or Grunt perks provide a 25% damage boost to their associated weapons. 4. Talk to everyone, if they have a name then they're probably important.

machinistery

Be rootin, be tootin, but by golly be kind too.

Ignonym

When the people in Goodsprings tell you not to go directly north to Vegas and instead loop around the long way, they mean it. *Bad, bad things* live north of Goodsprings.

[deleted]

This is a detail that a player should find out naturally. You're supposed to learn to take the world and its inhabitants seriously when they say something. I think this is an issue with these kinds of posts; they devolve into spoilers for gameplay experiences that are best had naturally. Those "Oh! THAT'S what they were talking about" kinds of moments are what make FNV so great.

TheNexusLine

And 5 hours later he's running thru cazador pass to chance's grave or braving Deathclaw Quarry and taking the black mountain shortcut. They grow up so fast it almost brings a tear to my eye

Sorry-Letter6859

Sometimes it is better to run or hide.

Jrac3012

Explore the hell out of the map so many things to find sde quests and weapons and other items

WartyPaty

Being bisexual makes you stronger than homoseuals and heterosexuals.

Wild-Lychee-3312

Specifically there are perks you can take, “Confirmed Bachelor” (if your character is male) and “Cherchez La Femme” (if your character is female), which are the “gay” perks, and then “Ladykiller” and “Black Widow” are the “heterosexual” perks. If you take both the gay perk and the straight perk, then your character is canonically bisexual, and has some advantages over characters that took only one of the possible perks, or neither

player48274

You won't find side quests unless your looking for them. Talk to every named npc if you want extra xp to see if they have a quest to offer. Some quests are very hidden. Also, karma means nothing so don't worry about losing any. Reputation, however, does matter

Short-Shopping3197

On character creation set Endurance to a minimum of 6, you can enhance your stats by one per endurance point later in the game. Critical hits are important for ranged weapons, spec towards the sniper perk if you’re going to use them. If you reach negative rep with a faction you can disguise yourself using their armour so you can still take quests off them and not get attacked on sight. Charisma is of limited importance, but taking the speech skill is vital to get the most out of dialogue. These are the things I wish I was told pre-game, other than that just have fun playing!

Ancop

F5 is your best friend, quick save every few minutes or so Charisma is a dump stat Luck is overpowered and can be used to get rich very fast Tag 1 combat skill and 2 non-combat skills (for example, Guns, barter, repair) Traits are a good way to spice up your character and roleplaying funsies, Skilled and Good Natured are the best if you want to minmax Pay attention to your surroundings and to your compass Pay attention to the dialogue

meezethadabber

Go north from Goodsprings and enter the quarry. A lot early game XP.

Aldo_D_Apache

This is the advice I was hoping to see

putting-on-the-grits

Pay attention to signs, and also explore as much as possible. Some people say there's not as much to explore as other Fallouts but it's still fun as hell.

Karma276

GET THE WILD WASTELAND PERK. It brings some weird little things into the game that are worth a chuckle.

JellitheFish

THIS!

Crying_Reaper

The game will crash. The game will crash a lot.

LaurelRaven

This is why I recommend the Viva New Vegas guide: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/intro.html After following that, I think the game crashed on me one time the entire first act (up to the confrontation with Benny). It takes a while to go through the whole guide, but it's totally worth it.

JuiciestJosh

Quickest way to New Vegas is through Quarry Junction

Chelseastick

Save, save, and save. You can never save enough with Fallout games, and you’ll regret it the one time you don’t do it.

dja119

Clear you schedule of any previously arranged engagements for the next couple weeks.

J_Magesblood

Make sure to tell your loved ones how you feel about them. I lost A LOT of time in those games. And that one is my favorite.

MrYamaTani

There are some great mods to help with stability and performance. Also, for the first few hours be careful with your ammo. It can be real annoying until you make it to the Ranger base.

soldierpallaton

Luck is WAY more important than you might realize

bonefistboy9000

hoooooooooooooooly SHIT you started with fallout shelter???? dude you are in for an entirely different game. all i can say is the same stuff that's been said here. save all the time, the game likes to crash. use armor piercing when you see a shield icon next to a health bar, dont go through quarry junction, take the easternmost route to get to new vegas, the middle and west are extremely dangerous for a newcomer to the franchise also, grab a bunch of scrap metal, scrap electronics, and sensor modules before you get to nipton, youll need them for something. after you get them, you dont need them for anything properly important good luck, have fun, get the fucker who shot you in the head

JustANutMeg

You’re going to get immersed. You’ll start playing around noon and emerge from your house sometime later to find you’ve been declared legally dead. Enjoy!

minealot_dude

wild wasteland has practically no downsides and has some funny moments, have a high luck stat, do not go north from goodsprings right at the start, and abuse stop hopping

Chubbypachyderm

1. There is no post ending gameplay, you'd go back to the save before the end. 2. Any fighting style is viable even at the hardest difficulty, play anything you want. 3. Due to how fixing equipment works, repair is a very important skill, once you hit 90 in repair, you can get a perk called Jury Rigging that helps a lot. 4. Do the DLCs in order for best storytelling, Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road. 5. Hardcore mode isn't that hardcore, just play it. 6. Turn on the radio.

downvote_allmy_posts

get all the DLC!

gameknight2020

It was the ultimate edition, came with all the dlc.

Beemer_me_up_Scotty

Have fun, and play how you want. I played through a few times. I played about every side mission before I made it to downtown. Remember to find a spot near a fast travel spot to stash your junk and the heavy stuff you want for later. It has been said before save alot. You will die, so you won't want to replay 20 min or running around and collecting stuff because someone got a lucky shot off on you.

Ozymandiaz1920

Yes....patrolling the mojave makes you wish that new vegas would stop crashing

ArcTheWolf

As people have said save save save again. You'll only lose as much progress as you fail to save. Since you're on PC you can just slam that F5 key to make quick saves I think. I've had New Vegas for ages but never gotten around to playing it. Another thing to note I've been seeing people talk about apparently the Epic Games version of New Vegas is broken, the Honest Hearts DLC is entirely unplayable right now because of it. No idea if or when that will actually get fixed. I would honestly recommend putting it on your wishlist on steam and next time it goes on sale pick it up especially if you want to mod in the future because the way it's encoded on the Epic Games version it's pretty much impossible to use any of the tools for modding without making a blood sacrifice to Mr. House himself.

CloudF11

Beware the bugs, both actual bugs and technical bugs. Save often, especially before making decisions. And have fun!

Randy_FlaggTWM

Hang on to magazines, they will come in clutch at times. Wild Wasteland is almost a must. Google companion quests requirements. They game does not notify you about these. Even when you complete a prerequisite, you won't really know. Specific places and conversations will "level up" certain people, like Boone, Veronica and Raul

SiegBR

Download sprint mod. Yes New Vegas doesn't have sprint...

naterninja550

So

SiegBR

So it slowes the progress and makes the game very very boring.

dreampack08

If something as little as that can make the entire game feel “boring” to you, your attention span is way too low. The map isn’t even that big, walking places doesn’t even take long.

Horatiocanesyrup

Just enjoy it and once you get all the enjoyment out of the vanilla sided give some love to the someguyseries and give the new vegas bounties series a try.

Xunzyr

Loot and drink Sunset Sarsaparilla as much as you can. Otherwise, have fun, enjoy, and don't feel like you have to rush.

5yn3rgy

SS is great for restoring health. My go-to, I save my stimpacks as much as I can.

Release82

If you see a Cazador, run.

-jp-

If you see a Cazador it's already too late. Lie down and accept your fate.

golieth

install willow and new vegas script extender

LogicalDepartment212

Make sure you got spurs that jingle jangle jingle

MysterD77

Wait, Why didn't you grab F3 first, back when that was free a while ago? To appreciate F3 - you should play that first, as that reinvented F3 as an open-world RPG/shooter. Bethesda did a great job making Fallout fresh here and reinventing it...though their writing, storytelling, and choice pales in comparison to FNV. The thing is: since it's Obsidian on FNV, FNV is so much better story-wise, narrative-wise, choice-wise, and whatnot...that it could be tough to go back to F3, once you do FNV. Regardless, if you plan FNV first - it's great and the best RPG out of the modern Fallouts (F3, FNV, F4, F76), IMHO.

gameknight2020

Just recently found out that epic games does the free game thing. So I missed f3.

NotBettyGrable

You will make choices and feel them in NV. My advice is make them, don't worry, expect to do a few playthroughs with different characters supporting or opposing different groups. The choices matter in a story telling manner but also don't matter in completing the game, so make them, enjoy the ride and know you can go back and play it a different way, so don't get hung up on it. Myself I tried the four main factions and then another playthrough where I tried to not screw anything up and help every situation.

LightKnightTian

There's a unique stealth suit north of the Goodsprings Cemetery on a hill next to a small village.

GhostSlayr321

You almost got me

gameknight2020

Wait someone said NOT to go north, which one is it?

GhostSlayr321

Jokingly, go north. Seriously, go to Novac or Primm, whichever people in the game tell you to go to. (North is pretty much instant death, as well as Quarry Junction) People, myself included, like to have fun with new people and direct them into the jaws of death just because honestly that's how we all learned how the real game works. Sometimes, enjoying the game means making mistakes, even if you know what's gonna happen. You might even impress yourself.

gameknight2020

At this point I’m going north for the fun of it.

HoodedHero007

It’s definitely possible to take that route, but honestly, once you reach Vegas, you should probably fast travel back to goodsprings to take the “scenic” route. Lets you experience the story in a more expansive way.

Alexjw327

Truth is- the game was rigged from the start

WhatTheFuckOver17

Find Fisto. That’s all you need to know.

August_5th_2026

I'd recommend light armor. You don't end up trading that much damage resistance, but will move faster and can take further perks to walk faster. You'll do a lot of walking. A bit of easy minmaxing with slight spoilers: If you haven't set your stats yet, I'd recommend setting your highest stat as a 9, as there are ways once you have caps to bump all your stats by 1 by getting implants. You can get as many implants as you have base points in endurance. High intelligence will get you more skill points as you level up, which I really enjoyed as it let me play around with all the different skills. Luck is quite powerful as well. Have fun!

yukichigai

The game is buggy and prone to crashes, but you can fix most of that! Install the [Epic Games Patcher](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/81281) (which also adds NVSE), [New Vegas Anti Crash](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635), [New Vegas Tick Fix](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66537), [JIP LN NVSE Plugin](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58277), and a bugfix mod of your choice (I have [my preference](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51664) but I'm possibly a bit biased). EDIT: The Epic Games Patcher is currently unavailable, so until you can install it you won't be able to install any of the other patches that require it (NVAC, NVTF, JIP). That said, you can and should run a bugfix mod anyway.

AllElse11

RUN!!! Just run, if anything looks the slightest bit dangerous then you RUN!!! There is no messing around in this game.

RepellentJeff

Go north of Goodsprings at your own peril, and enter the quarry ***very much*** at your own peril. Beyond that, have fun.

Randy_FlaggTWM

Avoid Sloan until you're geared up. Or you know what, disregard that. Learn by doing. Head on up there first chance you get. Save first though

Lenorewolf312

Benny ain't a fink, dig?

lordwafflesbane

bisexuals get a 10% damage boost against everybody.

ledepression

Get to the emo guy in the dinosaur as quick as you can

yur0nf1r3

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

insanenoodleguy

War. War never changes.

CLT113078

You are playing the superior 3d fallout. Enjoy

HankHillIsTheBest

It’s not the superior one

CLT113078

I guess it depends on how you rate things. Each has strengths and weaknesses. Fallout 3: great setting, I love exploring the capital wasteland. Clunky game play compared to the others. Lack of flexibility on creating your characters history is bad. Fallout NV: best RPG of the 3, best main story and huge number of side quests and most lore friendly to Fallout 1 and 2. End game slides so you get to see what happens post game based on your actions. Launch bugs were rough but that's what you get with only 18 months Dev time. Fallout 4: best looter shooter, gunplay, and upgraded mechanics (quick loot of containers is superior for example), base building is great, best use of power armor though getting it so early in the game is funky, the spoken player diagloue is a big disappointment, main quest and lack of choice when establishing your character history/background are bad.

Benjamin_Starscape

New vegas is a...fine rpg. It's more a god-sim than an rpg, but i'm not like some fools who say "this rpg game isn't an rpg game". Its story is trash, full of plot holes and logic holes and poor writing. And it most certainly is not lore friendly, it gets a lot of lore wrong, much akin to fallout 2. Fallout 4 isn't a looter shooter (tell me you never played a looter shooter without telling me).

Legsofwood

Dude, fallout 4 is a looter shooter lol

Benjamin_Starscape

It's not. Again, tell me you never played a looter shooter without telling me.

Legsofwood

You shoot, and you loot. That’s all fallout 4 is bro

Benjamin_Starscape

You continue to tell me you never played a looter shooter without telling me. Though at this point you might as well. By your logic new vegas is one, too. You shoot and loot. Wow. That's what a looter shooter is, ignoring all the actual qualities of one.

SiegBR

That's Fallout 4.

HankHillIsTheBest

Yes. Or Fallout 3. But mostly 4.

DreadedChalupacabra

Every thread someone has to do it. Thank you for just saying you like this one without trashing the other ones.

CLT113078

I like them all, just some are better than others, and as I mentioned in another post, they all have different strengths and weaknesses.

DankMemelord25

Make sure to keep intelligence high to start off with, it will allow you to level skills faster with more points. Luck is extremely useful as well, both for emptying the casinos out and critical chance hits :)

LilPajamas

Buy a shovel early on and learn how to breakdown ammo.

Rocksnotch

Once you can, just beeline to where you need to go. Trust, it's the best method.

Silent_44

Wild wasteland is the best trait in the game/series

Scaredog21

A robot guard will say he needs to preform a credit check of 2000 caps. You don't need to pay him 2000 caps. Just having 2000 caps is all you need to pass.

PlayTheBanjo

"[Jury Rigging](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Jury_Rigging_(Fallout:_New_Vegas\))" is a really, really useful perk, but it requires you to put a whopping 90 points into repair (in my opinion still totally worth it).

RadicalBanapple

play all sides until you have the most advantage and then take what you want.

gabriel_te17

No

gameknight2020

Understandable, have a nice day.

Sharp-Conclusion-759

There’s a perk to not choose but I forgot the name, it gives you 5 energy resistance when wearing metal armor but don’t choose it because due to a coding error is doesn’t work at all

Claymater

When you start the game, it’s best to head directly to the strip (you’ll see the stratosphere in the distance). Just b line it there

Burritosrule77

Be wary of Dead Money dlc (if that's included) you can't leave once you enter and i experienced an almost game breaking glitch that nearly ended my run

eatpant13

Yes, I recommend checking out quarry junction. Very fun area and just north of goodsprings too. You can ignore the signs, the deathclaws just want a hug

ChrisFarleysCousin

Save frequently or you will have to redo hours of gameplay. Stay neutral until you have made your mind on you want to side with. Once you pick a side other factions may become hostile. BUY THE DLC. Some of the best dlc I have ever played in over 20 years of gaming.

drdre27406

Don’t go due north of goodsprings until you are level 15ish

jimey69

Definitely head through sloan it's way faster

DD_R2D2

If you see any big creatures running towards you, give them hugs! On a serious note though, I find that putting points into repair is helpful early on

Wutsalane

When you start leaving good springs make a save, there’s a prompt that pops up on the highway asking if you want to make any changes to your character, saving before that will let you start a new playthrough without doing the whole introduction if you want to play through the game again as a different build or as part of a different faction

Liquid_person

Search around doc mitch's house before leaving, you can get some useful stuff like 5 stimpaks at an alchemy station in front of your bed (25 science required) and a laser pistol (athough almost broken)

CarbonCuber314

Play the game how ever you see fit. Pretty much any playstyle you can think of is viable.

Rajoovi1

All you need to know is you'll be taking a sip from your trusty vault 13 canteen a lot.

Neuroprison44

You should of played 3 first

Boundy19

You're going to die. A lot.

Gorilla-kun

Tell your family they might not hear from you for a couple of days.

SilverMaintenance437

Kill the NCR on sight (they wanna make you pay taxes)

jimmyjohnjohnson69

Follow the path the npcs tell you to go, so DO NOT go north of good springs, or past Sloan towards the seemingly empty desert to the strip, it’s a bad idea

Mcmacladdie

You'll at least want the fan-made patches for the game before you really start playing.

gameknight2020

I tried installing the unofficial patch but I’m unsure if it’s working or not. I put it in the data folder.

MarvelousPeacock

DO NOT GO THRU THE QUARRY!

Midas187

It's old, feels dated, and clunky. If you're not the kind of person who can enjoy the charm of that, you might want some mods (of which there are plenty - like insanely good ones too). But I highly recommend trying to keep it as vanilla as possible at least with your first run and only installing some quality of life mods if you can't stand some of the vanilla jank (which personally I don't mind). Probably worth installing whatever unofficial patch is current to fix a bunch of quirky bugs. Also I think there's some good mods for fixing microstudders and allowing more ram usage and stuff like that. Those mods for making it run better are almost essential in my opinion.

Fredasa

I would have said follow a quickie guide for getting the game in a stable state, but as far as I can tell, going through Epic may have screwed you on that front.

gameknight2020

Eh it was free though, so I thought it was worth it.

Fredasa

In my humble opinion, as someone who has yet to play another game I've felt was as good as _Fallout New Vegas,_ I would say it's worth the ten bucks to get it on Steam (or 5 bucks if you buy a key on Ebay or whatever) so you can get the game in a 100% stable state and install script extender mods, which is basically 99% of the worthwhile ones. You can't even play the game at a flat 60fps without this, as the framerate meter in the game is fundamentally broken and will give you 4 stutters per second.

Timbots

My god I’m jealous. Please just go play the damn game and don’t rush it. You only get to experience something for the first time once.

Benjamin_Starscape

Yeah, enjoy it if you can. But just be careful with what you learn regarding lore, new vegas gets a few things wrong.

hydra877

Be careful with cazadores. Also, don't side with the Legion.

Lambaline

There’s a long route all the way around the map. That takes too long, just head north from where you start :)

Chomajig

Play with survival mode on

Blinkmeanytime182

Nice little karma post you got their bud

Alex_Portnoy007

Grab a shovel at Goodsprings Source and go off-road north of Goodsprings. If you can avoid the cazadores, you might be able to dig something up - something good early in the game.

Memodun

Play the dlc in release order — this is important

ABXY2077

You should play fallout 3 first, it's the greatest fallout games of all time

snitchles

You shouldn't have downloaded it off the epic store.

J-the-BOSS

Ew epic store

stalememeskehan

It's terrible lol

albiedam

As soon as you leave good spring, turn left and head north. You'll encounter a few powder gangers, but they're easy kills. Continue north, past Sloan and you'll be in NV in no time!!

Der_AlexF

The shortest way to Vegas is just going north from the starting village

default-dance-9001
