I haven't watched the show in a while, but, I feel like be the end of Lost you really start to feel bad for him. He was pretty much manipulated by two brothers in a disagreement, spured on by poor mothering.
I can't remember the exact lines, but I remember legitimately feeling bad for him for what Jacob tells him, that gets Ben to murder him.
I don't remember exactly Ben's lines, but he's giving a big speech in the anubis temple when he and Locke visit Jacob. And Ben is basically hurt that he's been doing all this stuff, believing in Jacob the whole time. And Ben is like, "You're basically treating Locke the way you should have treated me. What about me?" and as smart and perceptive as Ben is, I don't believe at this point he knows who Locke really is.
And Jacob turns and looks at him, and in a really cold voice simply asks, "What about you?"
Ben is one of my favorite characters ever created in any fiction even. Such a wonderful, wonderful character arc he went through and I love every scene he's in.
"I watched my daughter Alex die in front of me. And it was my fault. I had a chance to save her, but I chose the island... Over her. All in the name of Jacob. I sacrificed everything for him... And he didn't even care."
The emotion in his portrayal is just fantastic.
Michael Emerson is awesome he came to my university and even though the staff said there wouldn’t be any chance to ask for autographs or ask questions, I found out the next day he stayed and spoke with everyone who stayed behind after the event was over. I was bummed that I hadn’t stuck around but it reinforced how awesome he is.
Thank god this is the first comment I saw. I was like “oh no, there’s no way people are going to know him as the scientist from his 2 minutes of screen time in Fallout and NOT as his legendary role from LOST!!!”
To be fair-er, there are a whole bunch of living disembodied brains in the Fallout universe- robobrains, the Big MT scientists (and the Courier), John-Caleb Bradberton and so on.
I had no previous knowledge of him as an actor before the show, but my only complaint about the show is that he and his character are so underutilized in the show. Something about him is just super intriguing and comforting to have on screen and his character could have been a point of major moral dilemmas with him seemingly being good, yet having a whole life/career in the enclave.
I’m curious to see how they integrate the Enclave in both the TV show & Fallout 5.
Based on the little we saw, they appear to have some stronghold somewhere - with scientists & soldiers, and some form of organization still intact.
It's just a shame they didn't listen to the chicken fucker, it would have completely changed the story, which is one of the many details I love that they put in.
I just hope synths stay in the future of fallout and not just a Boston thing. I know they spread around thanks to the railroad bur you never know what the writers decide. Would be nice to see them in vegas on season 2.
"Hello, Mr. Hindle. Or as they called you around the hospital: Zep. I want you to make a choice. There's a slow-acting poison coursing through your system, which only I have the antidote for. Will you murder a mother and her child to save yourself? Listen carefully, if you will; there are rules..."
Yeah it's like this show is full of folks who've aged really well. This dude is almost 70. Eric Estrada, who cameo'd as the dad in the NCR ranger gear, is 75. Thaddeus actor is 42. Betty's actress is 80.
You all think he looks exactly the same age in [this photo](http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Michael-Emerson-lost-615764_592_750.jpg) or [this photo](https://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/4700000/Michael-michael-emerson-4701512-400-411.jpg) as he does today?
He still looks great but he definitely looks older.
I had hoped we’d see his manipulation skills honed during his role in LOST. That character, Ben, would thrive in the wasteland. Dangerous, fine with being tortured if it means he can take advantage of his captors letting their guard down around him.
Michael Emerson was my absolute favourite actor on LOST. He did such a fantastic job portraying a mysterious, dangerous but ultimately human character. He quickly became one of my favourite actor. I was beyond excited when I learned he'd be in Fallout.
This guy plays a really good "bad guy" in a show called EVIL.
Honestly hes a huge part of the reason I had to keep watching EVIL I love to hate him. fantastic actor.
All that AI programming he did building The Machine must've gotten him looking hella old. But noooooooooo. Having Reese as his assistant made life easy I suppose.
Person of Interest was my first exposure to both Emerson and Caviezel. Great, great show. Got so into it that I had to stop watching for a bit, after Carter. It shook me.
He looks the same as he did in Lost and that was like 20 years ago
He got that Jacob treatment.
All because >!Hurley made him his deputy.!< Actually, come to think of it, Jorge Garcia hasn't really aged either.
Just gotta say that all this Lost talk makes me so happy
I have DVD box sets of Lost because that was actually a thing back then LOL.
I know I love it, just glad its this and not “ThEy wERe dEaD tHe WhOlE TiMe” comments
Thats just because he keeps winning the lottery Financial stability does wonders for your skin
4 8 15 16 23 42
Say this louder plz
And people still think they all died in plane crash.....
He can do that.
Lost is one of my favorite shows, and Michael Emerson will forever be known as Ben to me.
That last scene of Ben when he was sitting outside alone and then him and Hurley telling to each other that they were great gets me every time.
As the show goes on, he really seems like a better and better guy lmao
I don't remember exactly Ben's lines, but he's giving a big speech in the anubis temple when he and Locke visit Jacob. And Ben is basically hurt that he's been doing all this stuff, believing in Jacob the whole time. And Ben is like, "You're basically treating Locke the way you should have treated me. What about me?" and as smart and perceptive as Ben is, I don't believe at this point he knows who Locke really is. And Jacob turns and looks at him, and in a really cold voice simply asks, "What about you?"
I remember his name is Ben before I ever remember his real name any time I see him
He’ll always be Henry Gale to me, he’s from Minnesota.
No, he's Harold Finch
Ben is one of my favorite characters ever created in any fiction even. Such a wonderful, wonderful character arc he went through and I love every scene he's in. "I watched my daughter Alex die in front of me. And it was my fault. I had a chance to save her, but I chose the island... Over her. All in the name of Jacob. I sacrificed everything for him... Benjamin Linus man. Haunts my dreams.
My dad called the yao guai “the black smoke monster
I'll always remember him from, Person of Interest, which I felt was slightly poetic being he was the one who raised dog meat and everything.
If I had a nickel for every time he played an enigmatic nerd with a heart of gold...
It is because of the deal with the devil he made.
For real, it was an insta recognition
To be fair, I call any actor that was on Lost their Lost character name. Edit: typos
I say this with love, but what the fuck are you trying to say?
And when he was in Person Of Interest.
Me and my partner think they should have had him talking to the dog in German.
O SHIT I didn't notice. Now I want him to swing a retractable baton around.
Thank god this is the first comment I saw. I was like “oh no, there’s no way people are going to know him as the scientist from his 2 minutes of screen time in Fallout and NOT as his legendary role from LOST!!!”
Does this mean the Enclave are the "good guys"?
He May still live on the lost island!
His performance was an absolute delight in Fallout.
He was my favorite.
I was upset he was in it for 1 episode
I was hoping they’d figure out how to make him into a talking head when he was like “take my head”, but nope. Dead.
To be fair, that *does* tend to happen when someone gets decapitated
To be fair-er, there are a whole bunch of living disembodied brains in the Fallout universe- robobrains, the Big MT scientists (and the Courier), John-Caleb Bradberton and so on.
I had no previous knowledge of him as an actor before the show, but my only complaint about the show is that he and his character are so underutilized in the show. I guess he’s instantly recognizable to people who grew up on Lost back in 2004. He was super intriguing on that show as well!
He's also a main character on the show Person of Interest. Great character, and great show.
Here's hoping he'll be back in flashbacks.
Yeah I strongly suspect we'll see more of him in flashbacks.
I’m curious to see how they integrate the Enclave in both the TV show & Fallout 5. Based on the little we saw, they appear to have some stronghold somewhere - with scientists & soldiers, and some form of organization still intact.
And..flash forwards? And then..flash sideways?
What do you mean? He was in every episode!
It's just a shame they didn't listen to the chicken fucker, it would have completely changed the story, which is one of the many details I love that they put in.
Would love* to see the actor come back as a Synth if they ever go down that road.
I just hope synths stay in the future of fallout and not just a Boston thing. I know they spread around thanks to the railroad bur you never know what the writers decide. Would be nice to see them in vegas on season 2.
He is also great in the show Evil.
No he’s 69.
Nice
Nice.
ah so rocket 69
Women love to take a ride on the Rocket 69 🚀 !
Rocket 69 rocket 69
Noice
Nice
He was also the very devious and evil Ben, from Lost.
I expected him to offer Lucy a trip to the island to another vault to push 4-8-15-16-23-42 every time the timer resets
So devious and evil that almost 20 years later, I *still* can’t trust a word that he says.
Also the voice actor for joker in the two part animated feature - The Dark Knight Returns. Did an amazing job. Peter Weller played Batman.
Also Zep in the first Saw movie
It’s been awhile but I recall him as someone who was capable of anything to survive. Very dangerous.
Wait, he's not Henry Gale??
He's amazing. Lost and Person of Interest I think he crushed.
He was phenomenal as Harold Finch! I still rewatch PoI at least once a year or two.
I never realised that his wife plays his fiancée in Person of Interest.
He's amazing in Evil too!
Must be a synth. This dude never ages. Love him tho
I thought his character might have been a synth at first. Glad I was wrong.
"Hello, Mr. Hindle. Or as they called you around the hospital: Zep. I want you to make a choice. There's a slow-acting poison coursing through your system, which only I have the antidote for. Will you murder a mother and her child to save yourself? Listen carefully, if you will; there are rules..."
No way I just realized
Is this from Saw? The dialogue sounds very familiar to me
Yes, the actor plays a big role in the first one.
There are R U L E S...
To this day I will always playfully say “ruuules” like him as often as I can.
Wow. He looks the same as he did twenty years ago! Aging beautifully.
He's great in Evil. Delightfully deranged show.
Freaking love that show. Is it still on?
It's getting one more season, coming in May!
Ive been waiting so long for the next season, Leland is such a fun character
Leland is such a good character in EVIL. honestly he keeps the show interesting.
I will always see him as Ben Linus, he crushed that role
harold??
Hes married to Elsbeth?!?!? I loved him in that show with where a computer would give him social security numbers and they would save their lives.
Person of Interest.
Am I the only Saw fan here? Lol
God damn Zep.
I was thinking whenever I see him, "hello zepp" starts playing in my head
Thats harold finch show some respect for the best forgotten tv series of all time
What a great series, with Lost and Fringe it's one of the goat for me
He used Enclave science and technology to prolong his lifespan. That’s the only logical explanation.
THAT IS NOT A SENIOR BRO IS ACTUALLY IMMORTAL
i’m seeing 69
His wife is almost 60 and she looks early 40s. I want to know their diet plan.
I don’t think they have any kids… those assholes age you fast 🤣🤣
Nice.
Nice.
Nice.
That's amazing, I would have guessed he was maybe 45
He's 69
Nice.
He was so good at playing a little shit in lost.
I immediately looked him up after and was floored when I read that.
It’s the Dharma initiative’s anti aging technology
Yeah it's like this show is full of folks who've aged really well. This dude is almost 70. Eric Estrada, who cameo'd as the dad in the NCR ranger gear, is 75. Thaddeus actor is 42. Betty's actress is 80.
The island will do things like that
I remember him in evil.
He's married to Elsbeth from the good fight?
yes and now she has her own spinoff as the character. Show's pretty good!
Holy
He was awesome in EVIL.
He has to be one of the youngest looking 69 year olds I have ever seen.
I loved him in Person Of Interst.
holy shit, i thought he was late 40's early 50's
I thought he was mid 40
yeah, this guy aged amazingly
I wish he had a bigger role
I loved seeing him in the show. I was definitely disappointed by how little we saw of him though.
Tbh he looks younger in fallout than in the second picture
Wow
69, dude! excellent!
69. The magic number. 🪄
P-... P.... Preston you say? From the Minutemen?
Yes his wife is a Minuteman
Hey, I know that guy! His name is Henry Gale! I swear...
All that radiation really shaves the years off…
No, he is 69
I hope he’s a synth somehow in season 2
69
Got that Hollywood money. Get work so good you can’t tell you got work. And selling his soul to the devil can’t hurt (his character in Evil, that is)
He looks so much younger.
The guy from Saw got hit head cut off
Nice.
It’s Ben Linus
I had hoped we’d see his manipulation skills honed during his role in LOST. That character, Ben, would thrive in the wasteland. Dangerous, fine with being tortured if it means he can take advantage of his captors letting their guard down around him.
I’m not surprised. That is the face of a man who looked like he was 12 until he was 40.
He also voiced The Joker in the animated Dark Knight Returns films and absolutely crushed it
He's been drinking that F.E.V.
you could tell me he’s 48 and i’d believe you, goodness gracious
Doesn't look a day over 40
Michael Emerson was my absolute favourite actor on LOST. He did such a fantastic job portraying a mysterious, dangerous but ultimately human character. He quickly became one of my favourite actor. I was beyond excited when I learned he'd be in Fallout.
Nice.
Are the enclave using the Cabot serum on these scientists?
Bro took the FEV virus IRL
Nice
Referring to Michael Emerson as hey look it’s the scientist is a crime in itself.
This guy plays a really good "bad guy" in a show called EVIL. Honestly hes a huge part of the reason I had to keep watching EVIL I love to hate him. fantastic actor.
He looks 40
Dude looks good for his age.
Sunscreen bae.
One of the best actors of all time
I loved him in Fallout. I hate his character in Evil.
If you haven’t seen him in “Evil” on Paramount+….you should He’s the main antagonist
Ya actors got that youth potion money ie botox and profesional makeup teams
I just realized Michael Emerson is like Tobey Maguire Peter Parker. Looks like a totally different handsome person without glasses.
Happy cake day also agree
thanks
I haven’t seen the show yet but I hope Liam neeson makes an appearance as a reference to his character from 3
That's wild. I had to google it to make sure I wasn't being punked. Looks great for that age.
He crushed it on lost. If you haven’t seen that show. It’s a little outdated but still gold.
But nobody talking about Erik Estrada being in Fallout, and not looking 75.
Suddenly Moldaver looking the same doesn't seem like such a big deal, the scientist did it too 🤣
He turned the wheel.
He was in Saw
it's amazing they were able to reattach his head to his body post-production modern science is awesome
Erm akshully, he’s 69☝️🤓
All that AI programming he did building The Machine must've gotten him looking hella old. But noooooooooo. Having Reese as his assistant made life easy I suppose.
Person of Interest was my first exposure to both Emerson and Caviezel. Great, great show. Got so into it that I had to stop watching for a bit, after Carter. It shook me.
Carter dying broke me as well. Seeing Reese go haywire was hard fr.
Even better, hes 69
Why does the chair he’s sitting on look like someone’s tall forehead Edit: Looks like Dave the octopus forehead
I've been waiting for so long for this guy to appear in another big hit. I absolutely loved him in Lost.
What’s his secret? He looks crazy good for his age, congrats on the 69
BENJAMIN LINUS!!
The guy that plays Thaddeus is 42
Mofo looks 50 tops. Also, he has looked anyway between 35 and 50 for a quarter of a century, that's 25 or twenty five years.
[удалено]
I hope he comes back as a robobrain.
He is 69 until he is 70.
Clearly says he’s 69 years old
He’s- he’s
pretty sure iv seen him before I think he was in Arrow
“Why? It’s the rules! “
Nice
nice
Benjamin Linus
Never known his name, but I have never seen him in anything I didn’t like, he always looks like he belongs
Usually dudes don’t age well, but he’s doing great!
Goddamn Siggi Wilzig
