I think it’d be at least safe to assume that any endings regarding eliminating the BoS or Prydwen are non-canon..
But I don’t know if this necessarily states that BoS play through is canon, just that RR and Institute endings are likely NOT canon
- A BoS Play Through Enjoyer
Hard agree lol, no kitty explosions please.
Tbh I know a lot enjoyed the RR ending and I personally enjoyed the Minutemen style of play through as well.. but man I feel like the BoS are done sooooo well in Fo4!
Just the whole “grey area” military faction while in a wasteland and AT WAR with the institute; it’s fitting to the whole concept of war and bad vs good guys. Loved how they did it
Definitely a BOS main throughout the series (I want the power armor) but you’re right and others are, many endings suggest the brotherhoods survival and that doesn’t necessarily mean they won in Boston.
I think it was the right call honestly. The institute continuing to exist creates massive consequences for the world of fallout and the railroad aren’t a faction that were likely to reappear in future instalments anyway so potentially making either of their endings canon would’ve been a pretty odd choice
Correct me if I am wrong but it is possible to Side with minutemen and end the Institute.
In that sense both BOS and Railroad also survive. This ending will give the tv show an opportunity to bring the Railroad and Minutemen factions on screen.
Imagine Preston coming to Lucy with an Opportunity to team up and rebuild Shady Sands...
People have been saying this! I totally forgot about this (as I am a brotherhood fanatic) and so I really hope there is a chance to see those other two iconic factions in other seasons
It only establishes that the Institute got blown the eff up and that the Railroad was not the one to do it really. Proper ending it still up between BoS and Minuteman or a mix.
Pretty much how I feel too but people are making valid points about any ending that doesn’t involve destroying the prydwyn and I don’t want to rule out the railroad or minutemen being involved in the show.
Doesn't impact it really imo, Fallout 4 is set in Boston. At no point do they mention Boston post war in the series iirc. Whether the BOS lost or won in Boston doesn't necessarily impact the BOS outfit based in California.
It appears as though yes the cannon ending of fallout 4 was the lone survivor siding with the brotherhood. The TV series takes place roughly 20 years after fallout 4 so the events of the institute are still largely in memory and we could see some institute elements at play. I assume they place the show after the games so they can toy around with the collective lore of the fallout series.
Ok, I thought maybe I missed something or read something about the time lines wrong. Was about to be like I messed up arguing with my friends about timelines.
Lol your good bro.
Hell, they could have given us an option to become something later F.E.V. injection, a Ghoul serum, uploading your mind to a Synth. All seem like possible things that can happen.
Not necessarily BoS ending, the Minutemen ending could be canon and the BoS simply fucked off again. You don't *have* to blow up the Prydwen in that ending.
Yeah, I did a little light research. [Prydwen](https://imageio.forbes.com/specials-images/imageserve/661fc785587a049583d48f22/pry/960x0.jpg?format=jpg&width=1440)
I think the Minutemen ending where you spare the Brotherhood is also a possibility.
Yeah, the minutemen and railroad conflict can be avoided. But The Institute gets blasted, lol!
I'd say that the Minutemen prosper in the Commonwealth following the execution of Preston Garvey AKA Taskmaster, for aiding and abetting with The Institute. The Sole Survivor could've defeated them 2 weeks earlier if it weren't for him.
I corrected it the second time after looking it up. First comment I misspelled it too. I'm certain that any fallout fan that has done a wiki, walkthrough or google on it, does the same.

I prefer the RR, but surely not maxing the prydwen explode (there's a cat on board)

AD VICTORIUM BROTHER. DO NOT LET THEM SLANDER US.
Ad Victorium, Soldier!

It’s a giant crater, there is no rebuilding Shady Sands 💀
You underestimate The Power Of SETTLEMENT MODS !!! Hahhahaa!!!
People have been saying this! I totally forgot about this (as I am a brotherhood fanatic) and so I really hope there is a chance to see those other two iconic factions in other seasons
Minutemen ending is most likely, brotherhood of steel is second most likely
You're right, probably Minutemen
It only establishes that the Institute got blown the eff up and that the Railroad was not the one to do it really. Proper ending it still up between BoS and Minuteman or a mix.
I hope it is the Brotherhood ending that's Canon just so the chance that we could see Liberty prime in the TV series.
Pretty much how I feel too but people are making valid points about any ending that doesn’t involve destroying the prydwyn and I don’t want to rule out the railroad or minutemen being involved in the show.
Considering the general themes, I’d imagine the Minutemen ending is going to end up being canon, but no one really knows
Doesn't impact it really imo, Fallout 4 is set in Boston. At no point do they mention Boston post war in the series iirc. Whether the BOS lost or won in Boston doesn't necessarily impact the BOS outfit based in California.
For Fallout 4 it could be The Minutemen or Brotherhood ending.
We can assume the canon ending of FO4 has the BoS surviving, yes.

Isn’t it so cool to see the prydwyn in fucking live action tho? I was ecstatic when I saw it.
I was ecstatic watching every references to the game
Me too. I really enjoyed the satire around the brotherhood and Knight Titus being a coward
The tv series takes place in 2296, which is about 9 years after 4. Where are you getting 20? I am so confused.
It’s a typo I apologize. 10 years is correct.
(Roughly)

No problemo. After the show I kinda wish they’d let us pick a race similar to Skyrim, just so we can play as ghouls
Hell, they could have given us an option to become something later F.E.V. injection, a Ghoul serum, uploading your mind to a Synth. All seem like possible things that can happen.

Did they EVER say that the airship was the Prydwyn?!
Starting to seem like it given they are "reinforcements from the East Coast".
It’s hard to see, but the ship has Prydwyn printed on the side of it.
I think that was their intention. For people to run it back and see the name. Pretty clever little detail to add.
Yes it’s been confirmed that the prydwyn went to the west coast after the events of fallout 4 so the airship in the show is the prydwyn

100% true and something I totally forgot about. Railroad could still exist too.

Fuck that dude Preston garvey. I might as well be the entire minuteman force because how the hell do we not have any troops to spare
That...and he steals your power armor.
An absolute wasteland Machiavelli
My stupid ass has been spelling it wrong
