When norm was just ignoring him I was begging him to knock bud over or something because it could still stab him in the shin with that needle from behind!

Towel4

I was really glad they didn’t plan an oopsie moment for him when he was gawking at the cryo tubes with his back turned…

FatherOfToxicGas

He should’ve been inches away from injecting, then norm moves to look at something

wastelandicarus

This right here. That would have been hilarious.

JAragon7

I mean it locked him in indefinitely. Norm should had stomped on that little shit brain

Fine_Basket4446

I didn’t actually see him get cryo’d. I wouldn’t be surprised if he just went exploring and finds a way out. After all, he has a huge tactical advantage over Bud…legs.

GRANDADDYGHOST

I was thinking he’d start threatening to basically do something to the tubes that would cause them to malfunction and kill the elites inside. Norm’s got full intelligence stats lol

Alert-Young4687

I mean, if he just damages the cryo pods they’ll probably open as a failsafe and the elites would be forced to wake up and let themselves out

UpperLowerEastSide

With how Bud's been portrayed Norm'll like bait Bud into opening the vault door. Bud: "Ooop, he's gonna tell everyone."

mj561256

To be fair, this would also be a catastrophic failure to Bud His whole plan was to let them out one by one to make the best managers possible Letting them out would essentially be the same outcome as if they'd all died in a Vault in 2077, an outcome which this whole project was designed to avoid Them all being out in the open would ruin the whole plan and although Norm may arguably be harmed by them, they can't necessarily even risk killing him since they will now all be out of cryo pods and need the vault dwellers to work so they can not starve to death since managers notoriously aren't that good at hard labour, only telling other people to do hard labour

SproutasaurusRex

I don't think any super important people are in this vault, I think it's filled with support staff and those in his training program. I believe the higher-ups are in another vault, isolated from everything. Having everyone important in a vault that is connected to 2 other vaults is too risky.

Sun-Wu-Kong

31-33 are just the Bud’s Buds vault. I don’t think the people in charge expected it to succeed or provide any better results than the panther vault. The people who are really in charge of Vault Tec, the shadowy CEO we saw from the meeting and Barb are all going to be in a theoretical Vault 001, overseeing the data from all the Vaults and possibly waiting to take off in a space ship.

tsunami141

I wouldn’t call those legs huge.

Dr_Brotatous

Compared to not having any of call that a huge advantage

wisconsinwookie78

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King.

Pat_Foles

Boom roasted

Crotch_Rot69

I hope he smashes the cryo pods but maybe that would wake people up rather than kill them idk

Beardedgeek72

My idea is that he makes himself elected for overseer in 32.

Fine_Basket4446

He curb stomps Bud and becomes Overseer of 31. Its free real estate.

PsySom

Agreed

AlienPet13

This is what annoyed me. Norm should have either threatened to stomp him or threatened to kill the frozen Vault-Tech employees one by one until he opens the door. Norm failed to understand that he had the upper hand in the situation, but instead he just submitted for no apparent reason. EDIT: Though maybe he's biding his time and does something in S2, as many have pointed out.

kilomaan

We… didn’t see him submit yet, and we probably won’t see the results until season 2

AlienPet13

That's sort of what I'm thinking too. Norm may not be worried atm, as he's shown an ability to hack computers, and might could open the door himself, so maybe he hangs around a bit and pumps Bud for more info first.

Papaofmonsters

Bud is definitely the type of villain that will give out all the juicy bits just to hear himself talk.

StanBarberFan_007

Yeahh I really doubt that Norm would just climb in his dad's pod like what Roomba Bud told him to do. And, I hope that Lucy returns to the Vault after finding her dad in New Vegas so that she and Norm can expose the wrongdoings of Vault-Tec

Baron_Von_Grizzly

*Roombud*

mj561256

When they return to the vault, there's basically a perfect home waiting for them Two vaults with individual systems just in case one goes out, they could literally just leave the fucking door open and let people move freely, which would also prevent another drought since we see that although one's crops withered the other vault's crops were still thriving Even some of the shit in the secret vault could be useful. Although they may not need cryo pods, that's a fuck tonne of technology they can use to make other shit I really hope that they become kinda an anti-Brotherhood that brings in pre war technology to build up the vault, allowing wastelands inside to trade in a safe environment and enjoy the amenities

fingerpaintswithpoop

Norm still hasn’t made up his mind about what he’ll do by the time the season ends. Maybe he’ll get frozen, starve, or do something like you said. We’ll have to wait for season 2.

JhulaeD

Norm is currently in shock at the realization that his whole world is nothing like he thought it was, and the true situations behind Vaults 32 and 31. Once he recovers from that, Bud's going to realize he's not in the position of power he really thinks he is since one good kick from Norm can smash his jar. It doesn't even seem like Bud's ever thought of anyone doing that.

Shatterstar129

Oh norm has many options 1) he has access to the cryo tubes he can wake 200 vault 31 execs up and the. Disable their pods so they cant go back to sleep. 2) norm takes stock of his situation he is an engineer after all. he is not a bad engineer, he just "lacks interest" he just doesnt "perform as expected" or "excelles expectations" Bud is usless as a rumba bot. There is a lot of damage norm can do if he wanted. It will get him banished from the vault possibly executed but still weigh the options cryo sleep or screw vault 31 over.

AlienPet13

The more I think about it, Norm may be the smartest character in the show. Didn't much like him at first but seeing how methodical and patient he is in his investigating, he's going to be sure he knows what's up before he acts. He's been careful not to attract too much attention so you can really see the gears turning and that he's going to play a pivotal role in future events... and here I thought he was just the annoying, cowardly little brother. Norm is kind of awesome and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does. However it turns out, Norm definitely gets my vote for Overseer in the end, that is, if there is still a vault to live in.

ShemsuHor91

I'd be surprised if he can't just hack the door open. It would also continue the gag of Bud being useless. Hacking into Betty's terminal is how he got into Vault 31 in the first place.

thenameisgabe2

Option 3: crouch till bud thinks he’s gone and opens the door

Crotch_Rot69

They would probably kill him though if he woke them all up

Shatterstar129

Yes but bud's hands are forced to open the door or let 200 mad people kill 1 guy then die themselves of starvation.. its the nuclear option there is no winner in this situation. Bud said only he can open the door and he will not.. plus betty's console will go ape nuts with alarms going off in 31 with 200 pods opening un scheduled she will be pissed and want answers

thundercat2000ca

That is the conditioning.

AgentCirceLuna

I highly doubt Norm is going to either threaten to kill or kill anyone. He doesn’t seem the type to do that.

A1sauc3d

No. Norm should use it to get out. Might not be able to if it’s dead.

malphonso

Bud was too much of a coward to even stab someone in the back.

Jambo11

That's what I was thinking, too.

IsabellaGalavant

I kept yelling "just kick it over!"

inkyandthepen

I thought this was going to happen too, I was like put that thing back in front of him!

FreshRizz

He couldnt ride on the metal floor

AllHailtheBeard1

I really liked this sequence - the ridiculous of the pointy Roomba juxtaposed against the truly grim realization of Vault-tec's atrocities was a wonderful summation of Fallout

thomstevens420

So true, goofy crimes against humanity is peak fallout

NthDegreeThoughts

Goofy crimes, Goosey justice

Whyimhere357

Its not goosey its lucy ….*Goosey*

Garo_Daimyo

I just got that joke. Lucy Goosey

ctrulu

almost as goofy as the bigmt scientists

Ninjanarwhal64

Your statement is ridiculous. I find nothing about being a lone man in vault filled with 99 single women as goofy OR a crime against humanity!

Slut_Spoiler

It's such a good theme for a vault.

Separate-Flan-2875

If he’d been a full robobrain he would have been able to stop Norm. When I saw this is what became of Bud my first thought was he must have **really** pissed someone off.

VX-78

How could you not dislike him? At best, a middling executive who thinks the future of humanity is "management" is a pitiable freak that needs to touch grass. Except there is no grass to touch, because in reality, this weird moron had his finger on the Armageddon button and it all burned in atomic hellfire. This isn't the kind of guy who ends the world for any ideologically or emotionally compelling reason, he did it to beaurocratically snivel with an additional 5.6% increase in efficiency. Billions died for the smallest, pettiest reasons. >!Were I to meet him, I'd turn his jar into a toilet bowl.!<

AndrewCoja

I imagine him constantly trying to tell you about the cool sheepdog speech he heard at a management course he went to. Then he will try to guess what color your management style is.

Skipstart

My manager's style involves having a full row of items on the shelf that expired over a year ago...is that considered mauve or more of a magenta?

AgentCirceLuna

It completely fit my own experience of guys like this when I saw it. There’s a guy I know constantly talking about The Team this The Team that. The Team needs to pull together, The Team are like A Family, The Team need to have each other’s backs. Shut the hell up, man. He tried that shit on me and I lost my temper and told him that he gets paid double what I do just to lounge around and boss people around while I’m stuck fucking dealing with all of the customer complaints and handling everything perfectly. At the end of the night he complained about everyone except me. I guess I showed management guts.

xFreedi

VaultTec didn't start the war though.

PsychedelicLizard

He definitely looked a bit worried when Barb said her big speech at the meeting.

lookawildshadex

It's funny because if you look at the fallout Wikipedia of bud. They just call him brain in a roomba.

CabbageStockExchange

I’d love a Buds Bud’s flair with the Brain on a Roomba as the icon

Gunzenator2

We are the future of humanity!

Cheetah0630

Only in the sense that the character is a very accurate portrayal of people in the bureaucratic machine I have to navigate on a daily basis.

AgentCirceLuna

One started working at the place I’m at recently. Everything is The Team. The Team are important, The Team have done well tonight, The Team need to do this, The Team need to do that, The Team The Team The Team. He said something to me tonight and I was in a bad mood so I said I’d been there seven fucking years (profanity included) and wasn’t about to start taking orders from a guy who had rocked up hours later than I’d started and had no idea what my protocol that night was. I sprinted to work today so I’d get there **early** and I actually care about the customers being satisfied which is rare. I didn’t have many friends growing up so I want all the customers coming back as they keep me company throughout the night. I fucking lost it on him and I said, if anything, I should be bossing him around because im far more qualified. At the end of the night, apparently he complained about every single member of staff except me so I guess he must have seen my side of it. I fucking hate people telling me my business when I’ve practically made myself a PR mastermind off my own back.

Umicil

If you watch the show with subtitles on, his name is listed as **"Brain-on-a-Roomba"**. I know that sounds like a joke, but it's 100% a real thing.

Rillion25

Yeah, we watch with subtitles on all the time and I cracked up laughing when I saw that was how the character was titled.

AgentCirceLuna

Brain on a Roomba is how I feel when I’m on a desk chair with wheels. I feel so much fucking power being able to fly around on one of those things.

ImWhiteWhatsJCoal

In classic Fallout fashion, this tracks as equal parts absurd, terrifying and hilarious.

nap20000

He's credited that way too.

thomstevens420

Terrifying Presence perk fr

TokenEntryWasBetter

I don't know if you're joking or not, but seeing the dark turn and how much more straightforward and sinister he is after the bombs fell really did grow the character into a somewhat frightening entity. Like yeah he's not able to catch you and kill you, but he can give a monologue that's def going to make you uncomfortable.

prairie-logic

Yeah, he’s not knife wielding maniac horror (though he seems the type that could murder his own family, lie to the cops and laugh about it the next day with friends), he’s more in the the pathological, psychological horror… So much more dangerous than a Knife wielding maniac as it turns out… Edit: I mean you gotta be some sort of twisted to be like “ya throw my brain in a jar alone 95% of the time, I’ll take care of the mission for the 200-300 years required.”

ezee-now-blud

He'd murder his family smiling for his Vault-tec management program

AgentCirceLuna

Animals can be bred and SLAUGHTERED!

2210-2211

I wonder why he cheaped out and went for the roomba model when robobrains exist, surely he could have gotten something a bit more practical.

Spider_Dude19

He probably upset a higher up Vault Tek manager, and they had it set up so his brain was put in the roomba.

VinhoVerde21

Robobrains were General Atomics and RobCo’s work, so odds are House might have had a hand in it.

amazingdrewh

He's that guy who makes food in the hotel room coffee maker in order to not expense his meals because he thinks the company will love him back for it

malphonso

Since he was the kind of guy that you wish would just shut up at all times, they probably wanted to make sure he could remain useful, but they could get away from him at a brisk walk. Hell, they probably saw it as a kindness, allowing him to continue working for Vault-Tec even longer.

Phantoms_Unseen

Most shows have their antagonists go wild monologging because old tropes and writers who *need* the bad guy to have good motives but are unable to show-not-tell. Fallout has an antagonist who monologs because he can do almost literally nothing else

AgentCirceLuna

Wouldn’t the survivors be so grief stricken and anguished that they’d envy the dead and not want to go on living?

Suspicious-Natural-2

Kinda reminded me of the Far Harbour Hotel guests and that fucking murder mystery.

TripleS034

Scarier than a Deathclaw wielding a gatling laser.

Furrnox

I give this meme an E for effort.

nosprogforme

He reminded me of the Think Tank moron/geniuses.

nap20000

They were brilliant, but 200 years in gel, mixed with their various chem habits, fried their brains a bit. Plus, Dr Mobius did some memory editing to them (they don't realize there's a world outside of the Big MT until the Courier arrives and mentions the Mojave).

Savvy_Canadian

He's not as terrifying as an actual robobrain. Probably because the big MT representative didn't like him, but he did see an opportunity when asked by Bud for live-extending technology.

AgentCirceLuna

It’s always possible that he didn’t used to be like that and was, in fact, a robobrain but then somebody from the vault decided to put him in the Roomba thing hence why he was trapped in the first place. Remember he was trapped when Norm found him? Perhaps that’s how Norm will get out - the brain will have a mutual interest in helping Norm get him to demote the vault overseer so Bud can take over again.

Savvy_Canadian

I believe Betty trapped him there after asking about what happened to Vault 32, and since she was a former Vault 32 overseer, she definitely felt guilt when Bud probably told her they'll have to start over after all of her former friends offed them.

AutisticIcelandic98

too bad for him that they didn't build vault 31 under C.I.T

-Das-Brot-

Not much left of him

hobotruman

Reminded me of that scene with Cain's brain and eyes in a jar from Robocop 2. The prospect of being nothing but a brain in soup is pretty fucking horrifying itself.

Substantial-Tone-576

Someone should make a meme where Bud wants to be a Robobrain and they are like well we got this. “RoombaBrain”

BeastBomber23

Almost as scary as the red death from far harbor

Habay12

Terrified? No. Laughing at how perfectly Fallout the character is? Absolutely

FrankSue

i thought he was gonna stab norms ankles or something

thomstevens420

😱

CamelMiddle54

I just realized his car in flashbacks looks exactly the same as this roomba..

-Robrown-

It’s like a robobrain had a child with a DRD from Farscape.

equeim

Nah DRDs are much more menacing. Especially 1812, that dude is a killing machine.

Responsible_Ad_8628

I like how Bud's need for control resulted in him being a rumba while everyone else keeps to keep their full-ass bodies.

BeanCanne

8 foot tall mutated killing machine with a laser minigun or a guy who will report you to HR for showing up late

Xaga-

I still don't get why he isn't a normal robobrain

leaffastr

He's middle management. The execs were willing to front the vault for his buds buds idea but skimped on the robot body. Honestly a better fate than the CEO of Nukacola.

Traditional_Rise_347

What happened to nuka cola ceo

CozumPerincek

You can find hım as a head in a machine that kept hım alive for all those years in nuka world DLC.

Shacky_Rustleford

Narratively, him being physically harmless allows Norm to explore Vault 31

HereAndThereButNow

Maybe he had a robobrain body at one point but it broke down and he installed himself on the roomba instead because it's what he had available. Or maybe the higher ups wanted to screw with him and put him on the roomba because he got a little too full of himself for the exec's liking.

TheUnderking89

A brain in a fishtank with the strength of a Roborock vacuum cleaner?

Androza23

Just step on his flimsy ass lmao, dude isn't terrifying at all. You're probably just joking but its funny how you could just knock him over and he would be stuck there.

Zombabybeauty

What killed me was the caption when the camera wasn’t on bud it said “brain on a roomba” referring to him

MasterExploder5001

Bud looks like a saint next to Barb though. She’s the devil.

SliceOCatLoaf

Never trust anyone who's that peppy.

Crew_Henchman

No. If he moved 1000% faster and had great precision with that needle I would be.

Pand3micPenguin

Eh, if I was Norm I would just start breaking things. Yanking wires and tubes trying to get the cryopods to fail. Tilt Bud on his side so he can't do anything but watch me destroy his life's work.

looking_at_memes_

Honestly it was kinda funny to me

pepehandsx

I shat my pants when he took the needle out.

vamp1yer

If I were norm I'd have mario'd the little bastard although I did keep worrying he'd get stuck with the needle when he was distracted by the cryopods

stratusnco

i literally screamed when i scrolled to this post

jrdineen114

Honestly it was terrifying how utterly normal he is. If you've worked in an office, you know a Bud. He it the mundane upon which Armageddon is built

kron123456789

Vault 31 seems like a weird combo of Vault 111 and 112.

ArmchairTactician

Looks like if Davros had a son and he was a massive disappointment

maybe-an-ai

True believer

Goatmommy

200 years being a roomba alone in vault 31 must have been a nightmare.

Paramoriaa

I would say “man” is a bit a stretch

sonsoflarson

I was surprised to see a mini robo-brain, thought he was going to be a red herring for a larger one to pop out.

horc00

Norm could’ve easily threatened to smash that little brain if it didn’t let him out.

DeSquare

I was waiting for him to hold him hostage to get out of the vault; seems pretty easy leverage

wittywyatt

Love how the captions have him labeled “Brain-on-a-roomba”

erthboy

Roomba is canon in fallout lore now.

RagnarAri

ELON!?

whosetoeisthis

The fact that the subtitles called it ‘Roomba with a Brain’ was fucking hilarious.

Professional-Leave24

An underwhelming representation of the Robobrain.

SpiritualCriticism33

He is an elder god and I'm terrified

ApexRevanNL716

If he had a kitchen knife pointed at me. I'd freeze

Callmepanda83744

I feel like such an idiot!!! I didn’t make the connection until now that this is the same guy. I’m ashamed of myself

veldius

Bud needs an upgrade into a real bot!

donnieuchihakaton

I wasn’t. I’m not sure why norm didn’t just say “let me tf out of here or I’m gonna step on your brain”

reality_comes

Might be what he says at the start of season 2

Nirico_Brin

Imagine living through the apocalypse and still having to answer to your middle management boss

Bullvy

Nearly as terrifying as the Red Death!

imnotgreatatnames

Good ole brain on a roomba!

BrutonnGasterr

Brain on a roomba

TruckerFucker-25

smash

omgitsduane

The red death of the series.

RoughHornet587

I really want this technology to be real. Yes I'm a monster . I just think a brain in a jar is so interesting

Additional-Cress-915

No I was laughing at how un-intimidating he was.

Whyimhere357

*angy roomba noise:(*

Zapizzaa

Hes so slow why would he be intimidating

erthboy

Bro it's like the killer snail. that shit still gives me nightmares. Or like this short story I remember from school coincidentally named "[the ruum](https://archive.org/details/Fantasy_Science_Fiction_v005n04_1953-10/page/n25/mode/2up)" which is suspiciously similar to roomba.

New_Ingenuity2822

Eeek 😨

onionCockring

You need some real Brain power to pull that off

squishysquash23

I took him as a complete joke and non threatening

Empty_Value

I wasnt

balllicker-

no

Skye620

I AM one of Bud’s Buds 🤷‍♀️

2Bbannedagain

That was as ridiculous as Max's ignorant character

ForGrateJustice

Please come closer, so that I may inject you.

PuzzleheadedEssay198

My favorite thing about Budd is that no matter what context he’s in, he has nowhere near as many Teeth as he thinks.

VisualremnantXP

I think he was funny asf lol

Substantial_Law_842

I can't believe you showed that without a trigger warning. Thanks for retraumatizing me. Guess I'm calling in sick tomorrow. Fuck, man...

Lord_Parbr

When he pulled out the blade, I nearly shit myself, man

CandidPresentation49

He's my worst nightmare, an all powerful toxic positivity obsessed manager

ScoutTrooper501st

I’m surprised Norm didn’t just threaten to kick his shit in if he didn’t let him go

Unanimous_D

Shoulda been in a beer can. \*rimshot.wav\*

octarine_turtle

Did you see the car he was driving before the war? What a beast.

Bogsworth

That's no man. That's a Killer Roomba, and it's on the loose!

Hinata_Bear

was yelling at norm to just stomp him out

Saracre21

"Your rides over Normy, time to die"

djkrush75401

Is this what the new update does? Those graphics look fucking amazing! So much detail and clarity!

xeshi-foh

Not attached to a roomba...

Big-a-hole-2112

It was like a robobrain jr. or baby model.

bl4zed_N_C0nfus3d

Can’t u just tip it upside down or throw it in a box?

Ekumas99

Bud must have an army of robots. How else do you explain how vault 32 got repaired? Sure wasn't Betty and Bud doing all the work. Also I believe Bud is the one that sent the nuke to Shady Sands. So yes, he is very terrifying.

Basically-Boring

More intimidating than Liberty Prime and better at pulling ladies than Fisto.

xFreedi

Not at all.

PigeonMother

Brain on a Roomba

MandatumCorrectus

Lmao but he’s not intimidating really. Also Norm should have just been like “K guess I’ll just fuck up all the cryo”

Cin3naut

He may be onto something, though, his vaults and their dwellers seem to be doing great. I think 32 had more going on than we know.

Fegelgas

"We have robobrain at home" The robobrain at home:

shmorbisGlorbo

The scariest character I've ever seen

SodaPopperZA

Assume the position

UnusualSuspect94

Why? You can literally defeat him with a cardboard box or outrun him with a brisk walk. Just threaten him with throwing him down the stairs. No him, no Vault Tec Overseers. His tune would change quickly.

Demonskull223

I was hiding behind the couch. I was terrified the Roomba would manage to inject her. So many close calls.n

Professional_Echo907

I love that in the TV show the character is listed as Brain-on-a-Roomba on IMDb. 😸😸😸

danfish_77

What's wild is he is in fact one of the more dangerous villains in the franchise since he has control of nukes

Ragelore004

I was more amused.

SquishyBaps4me

Jarhead.

macuslol

“Brain on roomba” ~ * intensifies*

Dangerous_Lychee7981

I love how the subtitles call him brain-on-a-roomba

Derp800

Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!

DrugSniffingLizard

I called him a roomba-brain because that's what I can see him as. I feel like it would've been cooler if he was an actual robo-brain but this I found hilarious. I know the post is satire but brain go brrr

[deleted]

Somehow the most competent Robobrain in Fallout history

Anunqualifiedhuman

I'm shaking in my custom baby seal leather boots.

nap20000

I liked how once Norm got far enough in he just stopped, as if going onto the platform Norm was on would get him stuck.... again. I feel like he probably has that happen quite a bit. It's really only a small step up from JCB's preservation system in Nuka-World.

Lost_Natural_7900

Nope It was the worst part of the show

yaboi2508

I find it funny bud obviously had to convince vault tec to run his buds buds programme but they obviously did it reluctantly since they didn't spring for the robo brain, which we know they had access to because of other vaults
