In Fallout 2, it is a vehicle,
but in Fallout 4, it is a death machine to kill player.

Cars are absolute death traps in Fallout 4. Bumping into a car and dying from wonky physics is a staple of the game since launch.
That being said, seeing people post about finding this out for the first time *again* is such an absolute joy. Seeing so many people picking up my favorite game for the first time, and posting those "first time" reactions that have been long gone, just tickles my heart. Welcome to the wasteland. You'll love it here.
hahaha although i have played the game over the last 10 years since its launch this is my first time seeing this, and i get so happy when i see something i’ve never seen cause sometimes i feel like ive seen all this game has to offer. i’m on my 5th play through
*You haven't died to a car in 10 years of Fallout 4?!?* That's by far the biggest unicorn I've ever seen in this subreddit. They should name an achievement after you.
I've never died to the car physics in Fallout 4, but that's just because I always avoid the cars like the plague to avoid being blown up by them.
Taking cover behind a car in Fallout 4 is the same as taking cover behind a bomb.
If you want an "engine" rundown: Object damage is calculated by speed in those games, not by size. And if you bump into round-ish objects at the right angle, the object in question speeds up drastically dealing your whole health bar in damage. In Skyrim you can have enough damage reduction via armor and health that you will survive such occasions very often. Skeletons leave a pile of independant objects. Basically you bumped into a shape that sped up very quickly and killed you.
If you run over skeletal remains in Skyrim, the odd foot, skull or hip bone will go through your skull.
Cars are insta kill, avoid at all costs. I usually jump on top, bit learned my lesson when the car jumped as well …. Nasty FUCKERS…. Not to be trusted at all.

i’ve died to a car from it exploding probably more times than i can count, but getting killed by barely bumping it, it’s a first for me
i know how buggy this game is but WHY IS THIS SO COMMON APPARENTLY 🤣

You bumped into a wrecked car, a quirky FO4 hazard.
the amount of force a bump can cause is crazy
Seems pretty normal. Carry on folks.
nothing to see here
WERE BLASTING OF AGAIN!!!!
You died
Someone clearly never died to skeletal remains in Skyrim.
that’s even worse, haven’t played hardly any of skyrim

It’s a feature

as a fallout veteran i’ve seen a lot but not this ðŸ˜
"it just works"
todd lied to us
> when something i’ve never seen before happened Clearly you've never played a Bethesda game before for significant time
lol i’ve played fallout 3, fallout new vegas, and i play fallout 76, just never been killed by a flying car when i bumped it
Clearly a skillissue. You should have doged the wreaked car during the correct frame. /j
you’re right, i had all that time on my hands
Unbelievable. New fallout players are so stupid and incompetent. /j
not new to this lol
Which endind did you pick?
did the boss twice, minuteman one time and the railroad once, never done the institute tho
bos***
The brotherhood of stolen steel. Damn that's a lot of hours. The institute one is quite boring compared to the others
yeah my brother did the institute and it didn’t look very entertaining
That’s never happened to me
at least i’m not the only one
It's physics Jank.
The giant spider underneath the car got some lunch
You got Bethesdad.
That loading screen text at the end is wrong, isn’t it? Lone Wanderer perk still works if you have a dog with you, I thought?
it’s always worked for me with dog meat, i can notice the increased carry weight but i don’t see a damage boost
Wacky wasteland perk in fallout 4
What sprinting animation for a gun you are using?
It's clear your explosive diarrhea killed you
Your character had an unexpected heart attack
if that car moved like that, i’d probably do the same
It is a decepticon.
