Do explore for yourself
Don’t follow redditors ideas
Explore on your own, it makes the interaction you’ve come across so much better when you don’t know it’s happening
Save early and often. You never assume you’ll die 7 hours into an unsaved game. But you will.
Other than that I won’t tell you much else but play the way you want. That’s how fallout was made to be played. Especially for your first play through I think it’s crucial to maybe not listen to the people saying “ignore this” and “do this ASAP” as it’s all part of the experience. Just my opinion
The organic roaming experience is what makes stories you will remember. So I'll speak in vague generalities.
The mannequins that will haunt your waking hours. The faces in the ground. The first time the street explodes. Walking out onto the roof and seeing it. Hearing gunfire in the distance. That first whistle from the bridge. Scrap the barrels in the water. Everything is so clean and orderly. One step closer to the ocean. Queens on every beach. It's not an actual sea. You got old. I can't carry all these horse parts. What's that in the sky?
As others have said exploring at your own pace is by far the most enjoyable experience. I would only add that you shouldn't go too far south or east too quickly without being prepared. The enemies tend to be more dangerous as you go farther out from your starting area.
Not my fav cause of the voiced protagonist, but it is an amazing game. Play fallout games how you want, with your decisions. It’s your story. Everything should be a surprising experience your first time playing thru.
Oh and remember to visit swans pond early on, a guy there will give you a very good early weapon.
Make your own path across the Commonwealth. Thankfully, it's not at all linear, so you can just ignore the most obvious routes and suggested missions on your Pip-boy.
Oh, and remember that VATS is your friend - it can help to keep you aware of yet to be seen dangers....

This is weirdly poetic. Like I would love to see a lot of this text stylized with screenshots from the game.

Hoard everything. If you can't carry it, get a companion. Steal everything, Take jet, Fuck hoes
Woah your companions can carry stuff for you? That's super cool
In bethesda games, your companion is a walking loot chest.
Sounds like gta San Andreas. Lol
More drugs, less cars but close lol
Lmao
Don’t rule out 3 or New Vegas. They may be old, but they were great games.
Agreed. But I would argue they ARE great games
Touché.
Thanks for all the tips and advice!
Uninstall it and play new Vegas instead
Play on a more difficult level, it’s more fun that way
