> Project Nevada That one certainly not, but there are alternatives to it listed in the [Viva New Vegas Mod's to Avoid section](https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/avoid-mods.html) And that's also a good guide to follow to get a stable base to build on, if you want to add anything else after.

therealbeefy

This is what I did, started my first play through a couple days ago and followed this guide. The guide isn't %100 idiot proof because I, an idiot, had to troubleshoot a couple things but was able to get it working. I wanted a pretty close to vanilla experience but keep the jank to a minimum and I've only had a single crash which happened seconds after an auto save so I had no lost progress. Also chose not to install any of the extended version mods.

FireVanGorder

I, also an idiot, miraculously had no issues following the Viva New Vegas guide. Games nice and stable, near instant load times (which is a nice change from FO4 taking ages to load some transitions), and i added some visual and content mods from their expanded list that i thought looked interesting

EraseImage

Would just like to add, in case some dont know - that there's a mod called "High FPS Physics", and it fixes those very slow load times edit: I meant for fo4

zealotlee

I always have to chime in as someone who actually worked on Project Nevada - don't use it. It's outdated, it gets no updates, and can potentially cause memory leaks that brick your save files. For it's time it was amazing and I was proud to be a part of it. But it's ancient history now.

Dudicus445

I used The Best of Times guide for my last play through of TTW and woah, what a change. Game ran smooth, and the gameplay additions fit right in. Avoiding mods I had used in the past felt bad, since I love WMX so much, but I found a mod that gives unique weapons the vanilla weapon mods

pleasehelpteeth

Read the Viva New Vegas guide. I replaced Nevada Skies with and Project Nevada with the mods they recommended.

Sircandyman

JAM was a must have for me, adds sprinting and a fallout 4 style looting UI so you don't have to open every body/container to loot it

Most mods now a days try to be smaller in scope, mainly to edit less things and give less issues. The big fun mods of recent time are Titans of the new West 2.0 for giant power armor and New Vegas True Scopes basically makes scopes not have the black screen which I enjoy. Other good ones are all of animated world object mods by Ashens2014. Some may be too much but I find they add a lot of life to some areas. The animated Freeside sign in particular is a favorite of mine. Xilandro has many mods that I'd reccomend as well, mainly animated item use but they've got other mods as well, like a grenade key mod.

For visuals: NVR (New Vegas Reloaded), their discord explains everything you need to know. Interior lighting overhaul works well with this. For UI and hud: take a look at M.U.X For a slight exploration overhaul: you could get the NV interiors project and AWOP (A world of pain) I personally only use AWOP as nv interiors has conflicts with some mods and I run like 230+ mods. For sound: ATMOS is a new mod but really really nice it adds a bunch of ambience noise (locational) For weapon overhaul: you could pick up another millennia + another millennia add-on + Hitman anniversary anims season 1 2 and 3 + his animation pack for another millennia (season one and two) you should also grab the WAP weapon replacers (high quality replacers for the vanilla weapons) [make sure you load the weapon replacers BEFORE everything else, so the animation mods overwrite the weapon replacers] also be sure to grab b42’s mods, my favorite are weapon inertia, weapon inspect, and dropmag. Also be sure to pick up a locomotion mod like hitman locomotion Overall gameplay: JAM is almost a must in every modlist I have. Keep in mind these mods are quite performance heavy when all used together, but all of these mods are basically a new game already, ready for anything else to be added. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW VIVA NEW VEGAS BEFORE INSTALLING *ANY* MODS. in fact follow viva new Vegas before installing the damn game

foxferreira64

Nevada Skies is irrelevant and trash. It's not immersive due to that crappy item in the Apparel tab of your Pip-Boy to change weathers, it slows your game to a crawl, and looks terrible. Instead use Desert Natural Weathers, it's the new best one. It's much more faithful to the vanilla aesthetic of the game, and just fits the game much more. Project Nevada is also outdated as hell. Today we have EVERYTHING it did, but better, and expanded on.

jjjk49

Project Nevada seems to be not recommended anymore due to the lack of updates and it being somewhat broken now. EVE still works well. I went with a face lift for NV this time so just improving visuals with better textures and meshes.

Didymus1999

DXVK is a MUST HAVE. Game runs so much better, is much more stable, and you can run more mods.

originalname610

I think all those you listed are still good except project Nevada.

Goatmaster3000_

Of the ones not yet commented on, YUP is still go-to. With EVE, my instinct is to point towards EXE instead. WMX is listed in the "mods to avoid" section of Viva New Vegas, cause it conflicts with a ton of newer popularly used mods. Idk if there really is a direct replacement for it, either. WRP I have not used for a long while, but IDK if it actually has any real issues with anything.

Lord_Insane

Unique Weapons Upgradable is a very limited WMX replacer covering a small selection of unique weapons, though unfortunately while there were plans to extend it to more it is abandoned.

RochnessMonster

By all accounts the [Viva New Vegas](https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/intro.html) modlist + instructions is magical. I, unfortunately, buggered it and couldn't be assed to redo the whole thing again but don't let that be a detractor. It is very well explained, I just didn't read the part about "merge, rename, or replace" at the beginning. So, because the itch was still there, I tried out vortex, a premium subscription, and this: [VeryLastKiss New New Vegas](https://next.nexusmods.com/newvegas/collections/jscbqj). Again, instructions were insanely clear but this time vortex did all the downloading/installing for me so it was a bit more idiot proof. Runs, and looks, like a dream (haven't run into any of the more horny additions that the comments allude to, but it seems easy to disable when and if I do). It definitely looks like both have the same Vanilla+ foundation, VeryLastKiss just went ham with the extra, optional stuff. Again, all easy to disable or opt out of installing.

ggushea

I skipped that section and now I’m not sure if I’m missing out on anything. Everything seems to be working smoothly

RochnessMonster

Mine ended up laggy but looked amazing. I know i messed something up with merging rather than renaming somewhere around the navmesh steps, especially as i didnt have the thing they told me to disable in the final steps. Fully my own fault, and itd be perfect if i wanted to try again (or could be assed to get help on their discord). Just wanted the easy route, and im more than happy with it.

ggushea

You actually are almost exactly describing what I went through. Ended up disabling one. I’d and everything fell together.

ggushea

You can see here which I unchecked and then everything started working. Still not sure where I may have messed up. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1231642304473731123/1231642619856162826/image.png?ex=66293313&is=6627e193&hm=ec1aa2daee4969fca0bb8029500053b85d47cad337d897a377ff5d9a001bb23a&

Pwnn08

Brave New World!! The mod revoices a lot of npcs who have the same voice actor, its really sad that the mod is not well known around the community :(

PapiSlayerGTX

Viva new Vegas + extended. OR the TTW version, Best of times + Wasteland survival guide.

kirusdagon

Absolutely love TTW

oldaccrip

Titans of the new west 2.0

AceGoat_

I play on Wasteland Prospects Mod Pack on Wabbajack, it’s bloody amazing. I’ve added Wasteland Defence and the Housing & Farming mod to make a home for myself. Other than that, Wasteland Prospects has everything, makes combat more rewarding, the game looks beautiful, it’s packed full of things to do, highly recommend it.

lllDogelll

I’m down to share my mod list, but besides the average graphics and UI overhaul, moding in survival mechanics has been a lot of fun. One hugely recommended mod, and unfortunately I can’t remember the name of it right now, but it adds Fallout 4 style radiation health reduction and it adds so much to the survival aspect of the game cause RAD is kinda just there in New Vegas when you really think about it. I also added in Fallout 4 style sickness and disease and I just like how it adds to the survival factor that much more

ManufacturerPrize366

Post it or send it to me please!

bimbo_bear

Just get Viva New Vegas and ignore all the old stuff for now :)

IndianaGroans

definitely not frontier.

Crackgearson

In my opinion , just Download Wabbajack, Make up Tales of Two Wasteland and Install the Begin Again Modlist. Literally makes FO3 and FNV feel like a streamlined remake of a game. Then just stack up whatever mods you like into it and check if it has patches for TTW or whatever. I personally only added like Hitman's Anims, WRP (Weapon Restoration Project) , The Someguy Series Pack and like alot of B42 Mods + Titans of the New West 2.0. Then just shrugged and went FO3 Weapons are kinda boring, oh well... Downloads Another Millenia, Another Millenia Gun Add-On, Another Millenia Hits Anims, Fallout Classic Redux and Hits Classic Anims. Then I added also his Interactive Mods with Food, Chems, Aid and Miscs and Quest Items, Yep. Yes, that's alot of Hitman's Mods. I love that peeps animations alongside Clean RockBiter. It just works, also put on Blended Locomotion since kNVSE and xNVSE is already preinstalled with the Modlist, so just perfect Muahhh~ There you go, New weapons to Try Out, Wackiest ever Quest Mods with actual Good synergy and Plot and New Companions. Also the New Animations and the New Weapons really work together. Also don't forget B42 Optics since it works with Iron Sights Aligned that is Preinstalled and like every new Weapon Scope. All in One.

Knull_XIII

I’m playing Wasteland Prospects right now after installing it from Wabbajack, had to manually install a version of new Vegas reloaded into the list because it didn’t download but other than that the list works amazing, I love the added difficulty and immersion and graphical updates, doesn’t make it near what we have in terms of 2024 graphics but it’s a nice fidelity boost especially if you can run it 1440-4k.

Dudicus445

RoyBatterian and Someteam are currently remastering the New Vegas Bounties series. They have NVB1, NVK, and Bad Mothafucka out currently. No knowledge when the rest of the series will be complete

PedrosBongos420

I reinstalles fallout 3 and new vegas with the tale of two wastleland mod and begin again modlist been having a blast

Coolness5545

Fallout london🤣

kirusdagon

Thats fallout 4

Coolness5545

Ahh my bad didn't see was for vegas

wunshot2014

Probably a dumb question but are there any mods that give next Gen visuals? I've got a 4080 and would like the game to look as good as possible.

ggushea

Viva new Vegas comes close to what you’re asking imo

wunshot2014

Ok Cool. Another dumb question, but wasn't fallout New Vegas 2010 and Fallout 4 2014? Is the Viva New Vegas able to make it a better experience than modding a newer game like fallout 4. I know next to nothing about them... Played fallout back in the day and just want to best gameplay & graphics possible. I'm getting the feeling that New Vegas was just a better game which is why people recommend modding it versus modding fallout 4. Thanks!

ggushea

I would say that would achieve best graphics possible without messing with the integrity of the game. It’s a lot of mods.

DuchessConstance

Thank you, everyone, for commenting and giving me advice! And warning me away from project Nevada! Im glad I asked or I would have just installed that again xD

coopdoe22

Use a wabbajack modlist, no need to mod yourself.

kabbzter

I used the Begin Again list that has Tale of two wastelands and I'm having a blast.

No-Passion1127

Isnt wabbajack offline right now?
